Asher had dragged me into the shower earlier, claiming the hot water would calm my nerves. But I knew the real reason. He couldn't stand having Victor's scent wrapped around my skin like a second layer. I submitted to his demand, then collapsed into Patrick's bed wearing nothing but his oversized shirt. Sleep came easily when there was nothing left to fight.
The sound of whispered conversations and the metallic tang of blood mixed with wolfsbane drags me back to consciousness. I bolt upright too fast, and the world tilts sideways. For a terrifying moment, I'm back in Aria's burning memories, flames licking at my skin. Then I catch the ragged, labored breathing that belongs to only one person. Leo. They made it back.
