Chapter 3 - Chapter 2: Awakening! Innate Dual Element? Innate Intermediate Level?

Mo Fan quickly accepted the reality of his transmigration. Filled with excitement toward magic, he clung to Xu Fan every day, begging him to teach him whatever he could.

Xu Fan didn't mind. Helping Mo Fan counted toward his daily good-deed quest, and all he had to do was wait for his own awakening day.

He had already decided—his first awakened magic would be the Metal Element.

Metal spells could be disguised as Light magic like Light Shine, and their destructive ability was no weaker than Lightning or Fire of the same tier.

It was unfortunate that Mo Fan's time in this world was too short. By the time of the high school entrance exam, his academic level was still equivalent to third-grade elementary school. In the end, Mo Fan's father had no choice but to ask the Mu Family for help to secure him a spot in the school.

"Fortunately, Xu Fan is the one taking the blame in this world," Mo Fan whispered, glancing at Xu Fan with mixed emotions. "Otherwise, my dad might've had to sell our house just to send me to high school…"

Over the past few months, Mo Fan had fully adapted to this world and also learned a lot about Xu Fan.

Because Xu Fan possessed innate wisdom from childhood, he began physical training extremely early. His physique had already surpassed that of a normal adult. Logically, someone like him could've easily found a good job, but due to the Mu Family's deliberate suppression, he was forced to kill fish at Darunfa for eight years.

Ironically, to humiliate him, the Mu Family even provided a generous salary. But that only played right into Xu Fan's plans. Eight years of fish-killing gave him a massive amount of proficiency—allowing him to reach Level 20 even before awakening.

Just as Mo Fan and Xu Fan arrived at Class 7…

Mockery

"Yo yo yo, who do we have here?"

"I didn't expect to be in the same class as bottom-ranked Mo Fan and fish-killing Xu Fan!"

Zhao Kunsan exaggeratedly pinched his nose.

"I can smell the fishiness from here!"

His words instantly attracted the attention of the entire class.

"You bastard! You have no right to insult Brother Fan!"

Zhang Xiaohou burst out angrily. Xu Fan and Mo Fan had always taken care of him; he couldn't stand someone insulting them.

"No need to get angry," Xu Fan held him back, unbothered. "He can only be proud for now."

He then glanced at Mo Fan, who was fiddling with his small pendant with a strange expression.

The Awakening Begins

"Quiet!"

The homeroom teacher, Instructor Xue Musheng, stepped forward. "Since you're in the same class, you must behave yourselves for the next three years!"

He placed the Awakening Stone on the podium and prepared to begin the awakenings.

"Xu Fan!"

As the true top student, Xu Fan naturally went first. Mu Bai, the eternal second-place student, rolled his eyes so hard they nearly fell out.

Mu Bai clenched his fists. He expected to awaken Ice magic. As long as Xu Fan didn't awaken high-potential elements like Lightning, Fire, or Ice, he believed he could still suppress him.

Xu Fan calmly stepped onto the stage, closed his eyes, and pressed his hand into the palm-shaped indentation on the Awakening Stone.

A pale moon-white glow lit up.

He felt a cool current flow through his palm and into his body, traveling throughout his limbs before rushing straight toward his mind.

Just as the current reached his brain—

Ding!

The system's voice echoed in his consciousness.

The mysterious current entering him was instantly devoured by the game system.

And then—the Awakening Stone outside abruptly went completely dark.

"Ha! So what if he went first? He still failed to awaken!"

Someone whispered.

"Quiet!" Teacher Xue Musheng snapped, though disappointment flashed in his eyes.

Xu Fan kept his eyes closed, but a status panel appeared before him. Five spirit stones—Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth—floated in front of him.

So he could choose his awakened element.

"Metal Element."

He willed the golden stone forward. It glowed brightly and shot into his body.

But before he could react, the blue Water-Element spirit stone also flew toward him!

Both stones entered him one after another, while the remaining three faded away, waiting for future awakenings.

His body underwent a tremendous transformation. Xu Fan immediately opened his status:

Status

Xu Fan – Tier 2

Level: 20

Stamina: 2000 / 2000

Mana: 4200 / 4200

Physical Attack: 350

Magic Attack: 2000

Water: Water Drops Pierce Stone

Fire: None

Earth: None

He wasn't just dual-element—he had directly reached the Intermediate Level upon awakening!

What was even more shocking was that besides the system's five-element magic, a golden and a blue star cloud appeared in his mind—the Light and Water star clouds of this world!

He suppressed his excitement and opened his eyes. The class saw only the extinguished Awakening Stone—

—and a golden light suddenly shone on his palm.

"Xu Fan, Light Element!" the teacher announced, relieved. The Light Element wasn't popular, but it was far better than failing to awaken.

"You're just an ordinary person born without magic," Mu Bai sneered as he walked past. "Touch the magic world and your true nature shows."

He stepped onto the podium confidently and awakened a blast of cold air. Ice Element!

"Hmph. Victory is too easy."

He returned to his seat, smug.

Xu Fan merely smirked.

Reality would soon prove who was chasing whom.
