Synopsis
She always considered herself to be ugly and very unattractive. She knew that there was no way on this green earth that she would ever get married to someone as handsome as he was, not to talk of one as wealthy as he was and even for love. She was happy just working to be able to pay for her mother's surgery. Listening to his father tell her that he wants her for a daughter-in-law, was something she never know would come out of the man's mouth. Rich people were so crazy. I have never lacked love or should I say lust from the ladies. They were always all over me and I enjoyed the attention. I lived for it. I use to live for it, but I have been feeling empty for a while and needed something stable. But before that I have to revive my business. My father refused to help me except I get married to a girl of his choosing. I knew my father never liked the kind of girls I use to go for but no HER. Definitely not HER.

Chapter 1 - Chapter One

Pete was walking out of the hospital when he was bumped into by a little girl. He had just brought in a girl who was almost hit by his car.

"Oh for gosh sakes, what's with all these bumping into me today?" he cried out as he held the girl at arm's length. He brought her head up to ask her if she was okay and exclaimed.

"Whoa, are you in any way related to Kelly Johnson?" he asked her.

"Yes, are you the man who brought her in?" asked Kiara Johnson in frantic.

Kiara was just heading to the house from the office when her phone rang. She answered the call and she heard the person tell her that her sister had just been admitted into the hospital. She turned around in that same spot immediately and ran to the hospital.

On her way there, she prayed that her sister was okay. Kelly had been complaining about her stomach for a while now and the pains were getting serious and harder to endure but they waved it aside and treated it with over-the-counter drugs.

They just couldn't spend money anyhow for now because their mother's chemotherapy was taking a lot from them. She really did not know where the money for the next treatment was going to come from and she didn't want to dwell on that.

"I am the man who brought her in. Let me take you to the Doctor treating her", said Pete as he held her hand and led her inside the hospital.

"Uhm, thank you Sir. I don't know how to thank you enough", said Kiara almost in tears.

"Just be happy that I was there when she fell down in front of my parent's house",

"Hmm, thank you once again", said Kiara.

"Nurse, could you help me locate the Doctor in charge of Kelly Johnson?" asked Pete smiling at the Nurse at the reception desk.

"Oh, alright Sir", she answered him with a smile of her own and picked up the telephone to alert the Doctor. Kiara saw the smile and almost scoffed. She pushed them out her mind and focused on what was at hand.

Few minutes later, the Doctor walked into the reception hall and Pete stood up to meet him. Kiara stood up as well and stood beside Pete with worry on her face.

"Doctor, sorry to bother you, but I wanted to introduce to you the sister to the lady I just brought in", said Pete with a smile.

"Oh, wow, are you twins?" asked the Doctor with a smile in Kiara's direction, trying to ease up the tension visible on her face. She was beautiful but not as beautiful as her sister who was still unconscious after the surgery.

"No, I am her elder sister. I am Kiara Johnson and we spoke on the phone some minutes ago",

"Yes, your sister was brought in here by this good Samaritan when she fell in front of his car, directly in front of his parent's home. He said that when he got to her, she was complaining about her stomach just before she fainted. He brought her just in time because her appendix had just ruptured. If he had stayed a bit longer, it would have been a different story altogether"

"Thank you so much Sir. I really don't know how to repay this kindness, but I am really grateful. Thank you so much", she said to Pete with tears running down her face.

Pete nodded at her and looked away. He was glad that the girl's sister was here. He really needed to head home and think about his own predicament.

"So Doctor, how is she?" asked Kiara as she turned her gaze on the Doctor.

"I will be leaving now. Just take care of yourself. She will be fine", said Pete before he left the hall and headed to his car. He needed to be home. He had to think of a way out of his problem.

How could his father suggest that? He was still a young man with young and fresh blood running through his veins and he needed to enjoy life more. How could his own father suggest he get married within the next three months? And that was not even the end of it. He has to pick a wife that his father will approve and he will live with her for one year after marriage. He also has to be a dutiful and faithful husband, meaning no more parties and women.

The old man even went as far to say that if he doesn't bring someone to him that he wants to marry within the next three months, that he was going to choose one for him and he must marry her or else everything he had willed to him will be taken and given to charities and orphanages.

Pete was a 27-year old man who had always had everything he wanted. Right from his younger age, he never lacked anything because his parents were just overjoyed to have a child. His mother couldn't conceive and when she finally did, it was late and the Doctors advised her to not try for another if she still wanted to live.

They had spoiled him rotten with whatever he wanted but at the same time they taught him how to live his life in the best way and he was always grateful that he wasn't spoilt like all those children of wealthy parents he saw on TV who had nothing better to do than to show off their latest cars or phones. Just plain nuisances on TV.

He knew that he was very handsome and he tried not to be vain about it but the ladies won't let him. They were always frolicking around him like lions on the prowl. They knew that he had wealthy parents and they wanted to marry into that by all means, but as the smart man that he was, he always knew those types and ran as fast as he could whenever he was done with them for the night.

Even with the fact that his parents were rich, he never cared about their money. He knew that he would make his own way and his own money and he did that. He really didn't care about the inheritance, but as of last week, he had been feeling very odd about his lifestyle. And because of that, he had focused more on his business-PETE'S COMFORT ZONE. It dealt mostly in furniture for homes but he wanted to invest more into it and add furniture for offices as well.
