Cherreads

Chapter 1 - [-1-]

In Prysmora, the world is made up of Supersized Prysm Slabs ruled by Regional Lords who govern colony overseers who, in turn, rule colonies holding control over 10-40 villages holding 32 thousand people total on average.

Our world has twin prymoons, Arcuson & Escur, and our bluish white light in the deep violet sky called Quatar. The past researchers predicted that our light is called a star, like the numerous other minor lights that appear in our sky, and the plants don't really have a purple colour, just that they reflect the most abundant light.

A 5 ft'9 woman with silky blue hair, aqua blue eyes, athletic build, and features most women would be jealous of spoke to a group of 30 children under a purple tree on violet grass as the breeze blew up from the ground.

The children, looking around, aged 9, all with different hair, bodily build, but all have one thing in common. The small blue marks under their eyes glowed in the dark every time a shadow was cast on them.

Among this group was a boy with crystalline silver hair, azure-blue eyes that seemed to hold unnatural intelligence, a fit body for his age, and smooth, light skin.

His commoner's clothes seemed ragged, like those of most of the children.

"9 whole years since I was born here on Atem 6th in the year 1404", the boy muttered.

"No magic, no fantasy element, just different terms, calendar, and systems if you don't count the whole slab thing, which in my old world would be called a tectonic plate," the boy muttered to himself again at the back.

"But I can't shake the feeling that there is something off, but it is as if every year, once something absurd in these people's terms happened, they would immediately forget the next year," the boy thought to himself.

"Romaine Usetas, you are ignoring my lecture," the woman said, looking sternly at the boy, who was thinking to himself.

Unfazed, the boy answered back, "I was listening, Ms Amelia".

"Oh, in that case, tell me what is the name of the Regional Lord of our Western Slab, wild frontier?" The woman named Amelia asked.

"This woman is very annoying, she keeps interrupting my thoughts every day", Romaine thought, irritated on his face.

The woman smiled, then inquired, "It seems you are struggling to find the answer in your little head, young man".

A girl with red hair spoke up for him, "I think it's unfair to ask Rome that, Miss Amelia, as we didn't learn that".

Amelia was about to speak when suddenly a voice said, "Vara Kel-Talon the Wild One".

Amelia was stunned as she hadn't taught them that, but quickly recomposed herself.

"Well done, Romaine, but please pay attention during lectures".

Romaine nodded, then immediately began to think, "It just seems impossible that this world isn't supernatural; it must be".

Suddenly, something clicked on in Romaine's mind, "Tonight I will venture beyond the village walls and into the forest".

With that plan, Romaine listened to the lecture while planning.

...(later at night)...

Romaine walked down a rundown medieval alley as he carried a bag with rope, hooks, rations, and even a compass.

"A normal person would be at home, but luckily or unluckily, I am an orphan cast away at 2, at least I saw the faces which threw me away", Romaine said softly as his fists clenched.

Arriving at a large wall after passing homeless and criminals who knew him due to his infamy among the crooks as the monster.

"A 9-year-old kid my age would give up upon seeing this wall, but from a small age, I was fighting crooks and thieves as well as training heavily, making my strength 2.4 times that of an adult, which in this world can lift around, Upper body: 100 kg total lifting, Lower body: 200 kg total lifting, Grip strength: ~40 kg for men, ~25 kg for women giving a combined total of 340 kg for men and 325 kg for women", Romaine muttered as he took out a rope and tied the hook then swung it and flung high up over the 7 meter tall wooden wall.

Romaine began climbing and hurried as he only had a 12-second window to clear the wall and take up the hook.

Reaching the top, he saw the world more clearly, but he didn't have time to enjoy it as a voice sounded from behind down below, "Hey, who's there?"

Romaine looked down, barely balancing on the 3-inch-thick wall top, seeing a bush below.

Romaine gritted his teeth and spoke, "Fuck it, here goes nothing".

He fell, and a moment later, he opened his eyes, seeing that he survived, but he saw that his elbow was bruised.

Romaine got up and saw that his hook landed in dirt 2.3 meters away, and the rope was all over the place.

Packing up the Rope, he quickly moved into the forest, seeing various flora and fauna.

While walking, he heard a clashing sound, and he walked towards it while leaving white marks on trees with chalk.

Getting closer, he stooped down and went between the bushes and peeked out.

His eyes widened as light flickered in and out.

"Whoa," He muttered.

...

Two people cloaked in all black, wearing masks, clashed against a man with crimson hair and silver eyes.

In the man's hands was definitely a silver energy blade, and he clashed against the two cloaked figures who used Energy daggers.

They clashed as the man flipped, slashing mid-air, wounding one cloaked figure on the shoulder and landed, then stomping, accelerating as he manifested a silver field of energy as he kicked at the other cloaked figure.

The cloaked figure weaved, then manifested full white energy armour, punching the man, shattering his energy field and sending him tumbling as the other injured cloaked figure jumped and manifested another white energy blade and struck down, slicing off his hands.

The man screamed, his previous cocky smirk fading instantly, "Please don't kill me, I beg you".

The cloaked figure, not injured, walked over and spoke slowly with a feminine voice, "By the order of the Silent Authority Council, you...Eskar White, have been pronounced voided".

A swing of a white energy sword from the cloaked figure, and the head of the man was decapitated from his body as he screamed out, "Please don't".

Back in the bush, Romaine was struck with fear as he watched the scene unfold, as this was his first time seeing someone being killed, much less so brutally, live in person.

The cloaked figure turned and looked at the injured cloaked figure and spoke, "You got overconfident, your training is not finished".

The injured cloaked figure, head low, nodded and walked over to the corpse and took out a small device and placed it on it.

The corpse was gone in an intense flash of light as Romaine remained in shock in the bushes.

"Now take out the scanner, as we can't have stragglers," the cloaked figure said.

Romaine knew this was his cue to leave, and he did smartly, not running wildly, but back another way while marking trees with chalk and crystals and making sure he made no noise while not stepping on the infamous branch.

Reaching a distance away, he felt safe, but the air rippled, and a crack appeared on the ground showing rainbow light.

A growl was heard, and a grotesque hand appeared and slammed onto the ground, which cracked slightly.

Romaine did not bother staying but ran away, marking trees along the way.

He looked back and saw a creature with pure white eyes and a void mouth mix between human and eldritch horror, running and gaining up to him.

"What the fuck is that?" He said, teeth gritted as adrenaline fueled him further.

He looked back again and saw it was gone, but he didn't stop running until it passed him from the left, flipping him after swooping away his feet.

Romaine tumbled across the ground, getting bruised and cut up. He quickly backflipped, landing on his feet, looking around vigilantly.

Tick!

Romaine looked to his right and saw it looking at him from a tree branch as it leaped down and slowly moved towards him, as multicoloured energy surrounded the area 20 meters in diameter.

"What's that energy, and what the fuck is this thing?" Romaine thought as he drew an iron dagger from the pack.

He lunged at it, hoping to do something, but the dagger deformed upon contact, and the creature swung its lengthy arms.

Romaine crashed into a tree trunk 2 meters away as he felt his bones break.

Trying to get up, Romaine realized he was paralyzed, and he looked straight at the horrifying creature with fear in his eyes, but his face defied death.

The creature swung its arm as multicoloured light emitted from Romaine's body, and upon contact, the creature was vaporized.

Romaine felt his control over his body returning slowly, and he stood slowly as the energy emitting from his body faded slowly.

Shock on his face, he smiled and spoke, "I have powers."
