Chapter 26 - Chapter 6

The next morning dawns. Luna and Mia are awakened by the shouting of the guards, while Milo, Suri, and I are still peacefully asleep, without a clue as to the situation Mia and Luna are in. Since Suri had passed herself off as a beastman back then, even though she is a human, she is not recognized; otherwise, she would likely be in this situation as well. Mia looks sleepily at Luna, who is also looking around, completely drowsy.

"We have to get out of here and to..." Luna stops mid-sentence as a guard approaches them. "You are being released, for we thought you were those who committed high treason, but you are not the ones." With this sentence, the guard interrupts Luna mid-sentence. The two jump up joyfully. It helped them that there is a gap in existence, which means no one can correctly attribute the deed to them, even if they know that something happened.

The guard unlocks the cell and bows as an apology. He knows that Luna is the princess, but he says nothing more about it, as he realizes that she has chosen to be with her friends. He nods and points to the exit of the dungeon. They walk toward the stairs, passing several beastmen in individual cells along the way who look as if they are suffering. They ignore it and decide not to tell me, so as not to cause me worry. They go up and now stand before the palace.

They leave the palace grounds. Luna remembers that I had a house in Lagoon back then. She looks around. "Mia, Min, he has a house here!" Luna's voice sounds convinced and self-assured. Mia and Luna walk along the street filled with people, where Suri, Milo, and I walked just yesterday. They see the house where we now live.

I wake up with a yawn and stretch. I go to my closet, where the same clothes are kept four times. I change my clothes. Suri wakes up too, and Milo as well. I go into the bathroom with fresh, folded things. On the sign on the door, it says "Vacant," and on the other side "Occupied." I turn the sign to "Occupied." I let warm water in; while the water flows in, I undress and put the laundry into a basket for dirty clothes.

I step into the warm water as I turn it off. A relaxing feeling permeates me. I relax completely while thinking about the whole situation with the girls, Mia and Luna, who have forgotten me. After all, I don't know that they do remember me. A few minutes later, I am just about to get dressed again when the doorbell starts to ring. Suri goes to the door sleepily while I get dressed. Suri slowly opens the door, her eyes widening as she sees who is standing there.

"What..." I am finished dressing. Since I didn't even notice the ringing, I only see Suri down at the door and think she is about to go somewhere. I go onto the balcony where my black cloak is hanging. I wash the clothes I wore before and hang them over the railing. "... why are you here?" Suri's voice is filled with confusion, joy, and hope. Mia and Luna nod with broad grins.

"Yes, we... we remember again," Mia sounds more joyful than usual. It's understandable; after all, she remembers someone she may not love, but who is at the top of the list when it comes to friendship. The three girls talk for a bit. I come down the stairs and see the three of them at the door. I stand frozen. Suri turns around with a smile while tears form in my eyes.

The tears run down my cheeks as my mouth slowly opens. I want to speak, but only sobs come from my mouth. I desperately try to wipe the tears away. "You are back, I am so glad," my voice sobs and cries along, but out of joy. Suri looks at me, while Mia and Luna nod with a smile. I start to smile, even happier than before.

Milo comes over to me with sleepy eyes. "What's going on here, Suri, and who are these two, and why is Min crying?" You can tell by his voice that Milo is completely overwhelmed. Suri starts to giggle and I calm down a bit. Mia and Luna come in, while Milo's questioning face turns into one of understanding. I once told Milo that everything happened this way and how it all happened.

"What is this? These sluts! How can this be?" Freyja literally screams these words. Mina starts laughing out loud. Freyja looks at her with a face red with rage. "I am the author of this world! There is no one who defies me! This boy, who is he? He alone breaks every law of mine, regardless of my will or my power. He might manage to destroy the author herself!"

Freyja looks at Mina with tearful eyes, as if she is realizing that in the future, in a few years, she will no longer be the one writing the story. "You mean the legend of the gods before us, the Author of the Author?" Ignis comes from the side. With these words, something changes in Freyja, who realizes more and more that everything is repeating itself. This time they are just not as strong for offspring, but in Ignis's thoughts, it remains: perhaps it is even better if the gods are wiped out.

"Fine, then it is decided. We have already sown it, but now it will truly begin," Thor's voice is firm and determined. I have no inkling yet of what the gods have prepared for me, but what I know is that it won't go unnoticed that I have become so powerful.

"Oh come on, relax, this brat won't be a danger," the god of fun, Hermes, approaches the other gods. His smile is impossible to miss. He is the only one whose raw power is likely stronger than Freyja's, but his nonchalance leads him to the point of becoming weak. But still, if she weren't an author, he would kill Freyja quite easily, for his power lies at 10,010,200. He has a power that can destroy everything.

I say this from the future, where I have learned that this is a book. My present-self, after all, has no idea at that point what is going on with the gods. So let's put it this way: had I known at the time what was coming that year, I probably wouldn't have been walking around so relaxed. But if I tell you that the story is only just beginning, it's strange; after all, this is already Volume 2, Chapter 6. But I think you know yourselves that this story will not end in a classic way.

"Milo, these are Mia and Luna, friends of mine," I say as I walk down the stairs. Milo looks at me with understanding. "Are these the ones you spoke of?" Milo looks at me questioningly while I simply nod. Milo drops the subject. After a while, things calm down. A few hours later, we are sitting at the dining table eating lunch. Everyone finds the food delicious; Luna and Mia find it especially tasty.

Well, they haven't eaten for quite a while; in the dungeon, they only got dry bread. The rest of the time it was always the same; that must have been terrible. We tell each other about our separate journeys, sometimes falling into shock, sometimes giggling. "Hey, Min simply killed the Reaper, a divine monster!" Milo says these words with a strange pride, as if it had been him.

The girls suddenly freeze at these words. "A-a-a divine monster?" Mia literally screams out of shock that I defeated a divine monster. But that's no longer a problem for me; my values are above that. But for the gods, I am currently still too weak. They probably think I don't notice it, but Lisa mentioned this "being forgotten" afterward, just before I disappeared.

"One more thing: the gods are to blame for the being forgotten, to be precise the author Freyja, she..." I disappear in the middle of her words and wake up with the Star Orc Lord. That's how it was back then. But what did she want to say after that? Whether I will ever see her again is rather unlikely. I am completely lost in thought, which means I don't catch a single word of the conversation anymore.

"Min... Min... Min!" I am called awake. However, I am no longer sitting in the dining room, but on a wooden chair without a cushion. A woman around 30 years old, while a man sits there with a beard that looks well-groomed. He must be around 35. They look at me with concern. I look at my hands, then at my whole body. My age should be around 6.

The scenario looks familiar; that was shortly before I was trained by Lisa and a bit before the attack, at least regarding my age. "Min, what's wrong?" the woman starts to literally scream the words. I look at her in confusion; a smile spreads across her face. The man looks at me as well. I slowly begin to realize that these are my parents. A young girl comes down the stairs; that must be my little sister.

At the time where I am right now, she was around 4 years old. Tomorrow she would turn 5; I still remember that exactly. "Lisa wanted to meet you, didn't she?" my father says with a rough but happy voice, as if he thinks we are a couple. I nod with a smile, jump from the chair, while my little sister sleepily rubs her eyes.

Even then, I was the one dressed in black; because of that, I always wore a black cloak back then too. My sister waves to me. "See you later, Mom, Dad, and sis," I say shortly before I close the door. My mother's name was Mira, my father Boran, and my little sister Sali. We lived happily in the small village back then. We were poor, but we made more than enough out of it, in my opinion.

Lisa is standing in a small field and waiting with a pouting mouth, crossed arms, and a sour look. "Min, you're late!" Lisa's words come out with a sour and sweet voice. I start to laugh because she always grumbled like that. She starts to laugh as well, as she has gotten used to me being late or sometimes forgetting her completely. "Well, I'm here now." I manage to stop laughing.

Her eyes narrow angrily, as it is actually our first day of training, about which she had entrusted me with something back then that only hits me now, because I never answered. She throws me a wooden sword while she also takes one from her hip. She points to straw dummies she created with magic. I look in the direction of these strange dummies.

I move into a stiff and completely uneven fighting position. This was simply my greatest weakness back then—fighting with a simple sword. I break the wooden sword once perfectly in the middle, giving me a hilt with a quarter sword and the other half with a three-quarter blade. I cast a magic that can reshape wood and everything else. I shape the sword into two uniform wooden daggers.

Lisa sighs in frustration because I did everything on my own again, even though she actually just wanted to teach me normal sword fighting and had prepared for it. She quickly improvises a new training possibility, but nothing occurs to her. I run toward one of the straw dummies. "You can with dag..." she screams the words after me, while I am already doing a 5, 10 combo and the straw dummy takes damage that anyone would see; even a blind person would see that.

We train for a full 5 days like that, and then comes the day when something happened. She stands right in front of me with a red face. We meet again on this meadow, where everything took place for the last 5 days. "Min, I... well, I—I love you." Her cheeks start to glow. By now I know what that means, and I think I understand the meaning behind all this now. It is an illusion from which I can only escape if I make the right decision.

Lisa looks bashfully at the ground while moving her fingertips back and forth. I take a short breath. "I—I love you too, Lisa," my cheeks turn red as well, but not out of embarrassment; finally, I can tell her, even if it is only an illusion. Lisa looks up with a smile; her last words will never leave my head for all eternity: "See you soon." That's what she says to me. I didn't understand what she meant by it, but I let it be.

My eyes slowly open as I am sitting again on the beautiful wooden chair with a cushion. The girls and Milo look at me with concern. "Hey, you were sleeping, what was going on?" Mia looks at me with concern. With these words, she shows that she is truly worried about me. Something wet runs down my cheeks. I wipe it off and notice then that I have just been crying. I have no idea why I am doing it, maybe because of what I just experienced.

I stand up and nod with a smile while wiping away the tears of joy. "Everything is fine, I just had a beautiful dream," I say with a happy face and voice. They look at me in confusion, but simply leave it at that. I clear the table while they continue talking for a bit. Nothing special happens anymore on this day.

I look around for 2 more empty rooms and actually find something in the attic and downstairs on the ground floor. I decide to move mine to the attic and leave the others downstairs. I furnish each room nicely so that it doesn't seem like too much, but also not too empty. We all go to sleep one by one. I wash the dishes and then go to sleep as well.
