Chapter 53 - 53: Megatron's Thoughts

Luke had no intention of cleaning up the aftermath.

After a moment's thought, he waved his hand, conjuring a level-eight gale that swept away most of the remaining fog.

Only then did he take Mikaela and leave the area, riding with Bumblebee.

At the same time—

The Pentagon.

This crucial meeting, which had gathered the elites of the United States, was still in progress.

Because the Decepticons and Optimus Prime had successively breached the national firewall, combined with lingering spider viruses, the system had been paralyzed for nearly ten minutes.

And that was even after several international tech giants stepped in to assist.

Secretary of Defense John Koehler's face was livid.

"This is outrageous! What do they think the United States is? Do they really believe this is their own backyard, where they can come and go as they please and take whatever they want?"

The Secretary of Defense roared, his anger barely contained.

"Mr. Secretary, this is bad!"

John's secretary rushed in, speaking urgently.

"Ten minutes ago, a group of robots accompanied by several human mercenaries attacked the Hoover Dam and released that entity."

"Additionally, about an hour ago, a special military base in Maine lost contact. After an emergency satellite redeployment, we discovered a dense fog covering an area of several dozen kilometers."

"Furthermore, another group of robots entered a nearby town, and on top of that… we also detected a gigantic monster."

When everyone saw the blurry satellite images.. "..."

Nick Fury, Pierce, and Professor Serizawa all widened their eyes at the same time.

Nick Fury: "Luke?"

Pierce: "Autobots?"

Professor Serizawa: "Godzilla!"

Professor Serizawa couldn't help but spring to his feet, shouting excitedly. "Mr. Secretary, this is the Titan Beast we've been searching for for many years—Godzilla!"

"My goodness, he's as powerful as ever, effortlessly defeating another Titan Beast!"

"He is the embodiment of power, the guardian of natural order!"

"Wait… is Godzilla talking to that person?"

Professor Serizawa stood up abruptly, as if he had just uncovered the greatest discovery of the century.

"My heavens, who is he, to be able to communicate with Godzilla? Can Titan Beasts actually communicate? Do they simply require some kind of auxiliary method?"

"This is a discovery that will redefine the century!"

Professor Serizawa's earlier indifference toward the Transformers vanished, his attention now completely fixed on Godzilla and Luke.

He had a strong premonition that whether Project Monarch could move forward successfully would depend entirely on the man before him.

Nick Fury frowned deeply. "It's Luke again."

"So his target was the robots' Tesseract?"

He couldn't understand why Luke kept appearing so coincidentally in major incidents.

It was as if… he could foresee them.

Pierce, meanwhile, watched Optimus Prime with suspicion and uncertainty.

He casually fiddled with the pen in his hand, and without anyone noticing, a tiny mechanical leg drilled out from within it and flickered rapidly.

A concealed signal was transmitted outward, hidden among countless other data streams.

No one noticed anything unusual.

Even Tony Stark, preoccupied with other pressing problems, failed to detect the anomaly.

Who would have imagined that the dignified Alexander Pierce was actually a spy?

"JARVIS, create new files immediately—Luke, Godzilla, Transformers."

"Based on the power they've demonstrated, analyze and compile the most reliable data set possible."

Tony felt an overwhelming sense of pressure.

Even though he had become Iron Man, even though he had developed next-generation armor and the Arc Reactor,

Now—Earth had witnessed the emergence of the powerful being Luke, the ultra-ancient monster known as the atomic dinosaur Godzilla, and the highly intelligent alien silicon-based lifeforms called Transformers.

Any one of them possessed the power to utterly crush the Iron Man suit.

The most unsettling part was that the inventions he had poured his heart and soul into felt like a complete joke when placed alongside beings like them.

Godzilla inherently possessed an Atomic Furnace, capable of absorbing nuclear radiation and releasing Atomic Breath powerful enough to devastate the world.

The Transformers were also mechanical constructs, yet they could remain active for extremely long periods of time.

Meanwhile, his Arc Reactor could only... sigh.. forget it..

The gap between them was simply the difference between heaven and earth.

He was extremely curious about the Transformers' energy principles.

He couldn't wait to decipher their secrets and further strengthen his own armor.

As for Luke… he was the most outrageous of them all.

At least the other two could still be explained through science, but Luke's small human body contained power capable of reshaping the world.

Perhaps this was magic?

"Sir, do you want to begin designing new armor based on the data?" JARVIS asked.

Tony Stark replied without hesitation, "Of course. Start immediately. Anti-Luke armor, anti-Godzilla armor, anti-Transformer armor…"

Looking at Godzilla's colossal body towering over a hundred meters tall, Tony fell into thought. "Maybe we should expand into giant mecha as well. Gather all relevant research immediately. We're building a big one."

Dr. Isaacs, the head of Umbrella Corporation, stared at Luke with fervent obsession.

"What a perfect human specimen. What terrifying strength. Perhaps he is the subject we've been searching for all along."

"If I can obtain his genes and improve upon the company's current research, perhaps… all of humanity will usher in a great evolution!"

"The legendary Age of Gods will descend once more!"

Dr. Isaacs trembled with excitement from head to toe.

The Hulk might also be an excellent subject, but he possessed fatal flaws that perfectionist scientists simply could not tolerate.

In Isaacs's eyes, the Hulk had massive defects and was fundamentally unfit as a primary research subject.

Of course, they had still preserved a copy of the Hulk's blood sample as a contingency.

But now—Luke's appearance made Isaacs realize that they might be only one step away from true success.

In the conference room,

everyone present argued fiercely on the surface, while secretly harboring their own ulterior motives.

As for the war mentioned by Secretary of Defense John, no one truly cared.

They were indifferent.

All they wanted was to achieve their own goals.

On the other side,

Starscream, racing through Nevada, received a transmission.

"Leader, Optimus Prime and his group have already obtained the AllSpark."

Megatron glanced at the message sent by Starscream. "Immediately summon all Decepticons stationed in New York. Launch an attack, eliminate the Autobots, and retrieve the AllSpark!"

"Leader, should we follow what that Earthling suggested?"

Megatron let out a cold snort. "Of course. Have the Decepticons 'coincidentally' kill the Earthling named Luke as well. After all, it's a perfectly reasonable request from an 'ally.'"

Even while he had still been frozen, a special data-based consciousness had contacted him.

That force called itself HYDRA.

They claimed that as long as Megatron worked for HYDRA, they could use their influence to secure his release.

How could Megatron possibly be the type to remain under someone else's control for long?

He naturally rejected that unreasonable proposal.

Instead, he suggested cooperation between the Decepticons and HYDRA. He would provide HYDRA with advanced technology, in exchange for HYDRA offering operational convenience for the Decepticons.

HYDRA readily agreed.

Even the recent breach of the national firewall had been assisted internally by HYDRA, allowing the Decepticons to tear it open and steal critical intelligence in just ten seconds.

Megatron knew very well that HYDRA was no force of good.

But coincidentally, neither was he.

He intended to conquer and enslave Earth, and for the sake of Cybertron, he would not hesitate to destroy Earth and humanity entirely.

Once his plans were fully prepared, Earth's destruction would be inevitable.

As for the so-called ally HYDRA? Let them negotiate with his fusion cannon.

One shot, and they wouldn't make a sound.

"Have someone prepare the Space Bridge immediately. Without me, those fools will find it difficult to stop that old fellow."

Megatron thought of his archenemy, Optimus Prime. This time, he would personally eliminate him.

Everything was for Cybertron!

...

By the time Luke returned to New York, the sun was already high in the sky.

Luke had originally planned to go straight home, but Mikaela insisted on going for a drive.

Halfway through the trip, Mikaela leaned closer and closer, her face gradually turning red.

Mikaela, who had grown up around cars, had an indescribable obsession with vehicles and a deep-seated excitement for them.

She wanted a thrilling, perfect first experience on the highway, at speeds reaching two hundred yards.

With Bumblebee around, let alone two hundred yards, even three hundred or four hundred yards posed no safety concerns at all.
