Chapter 3 - Practically Divine Medicine

I obtained not only a method of cultivation from the Jade Pendant, but also a wealth of ancient knowledge, including herbs, medical skills, drawing talismans, and supernatural entities, all highly diverse.

The introduction to herbs was titled the "Divine Farmer Scripture," which detailed the methods of identifying various herbs and their effects.

While bored at the hospital, I flipped through the "Divine Farmer Scripture," vaguely remembering that there were herbs and a formula with slimming effects.

In modern society, as the standard of living rises, obesity becomes more common, and weight loss is the most concerned issue for women, making this industry promising.

Currently, the market is flooded with various weight loss pills and teas, but most of them are fake with no efficacy. The most reliable weight loss method remains through exercise.

However, exercise relies on willpower, and how many people can persist in it?

"This idea isn't bad!" I grew more and more excited as I thought about it.

If I could indeed create a weight loss potion, it was conceivable that it would make a fortune.

"Right, besides weight loss, there's also beauty, vitality, and wellness, these are all profitable." My mind suddenly broadened.

Women naturally love beauty, and the beauty industry has always been a hot market, while men care most about their capabilities in that area. As long as these potions can be concocted, they are certain to bring fortune.

My heart burned with passion, feeling somewhat impatient.

After delivering the packages, it was already afternoon, so I withdrew all five hundred yuan from my card and drove my small tricycle to the herb market in the north of the city.

This was my first encounter with herbs, and the names in the "Divine Farmer Scripture" were all extremely ancient, having long changed in modern times, making them difficult to find.

For instance, one herb named "mulberry weed," but after asking around the entire market, no one knew. Eventually, I had to search slowly based on its characteristics.

It took several hours before I finally bought all the necessary herbs.

Considering for a moment, I bought five portions.

With herbs in hand, the next step was potion making. I returned home, closed the door, and laid the herbs out on the table, then took a sprig of medicinal herbs in my hand.

Moments later, my palm glowed faintly, like a bright moonlight enveloping the entire sprig of medicinal herbs.

Medicinal herbs grow on the ground and more or less absorb the earth's energy. I was using the energy within my own body to stimulate the energy in the herbs.

This way, I could activate and enhance the potency of the herbs.

Ordinary people can't use energy and thus can't achieve this, so these herbs can't exhibit their due effects. Hence, many famous ancient herbs have become ordinary or even weeds today.

Several minutes later, I tossed the herbs into a bowl and pounded them hard.

Half an hour later, the large task was complete, and I took a small bowl to hold the potion.

The potion was a verdant green, exuding a rich herbal fragrance.

Looking at the small bowl of potion, I was stunned. The potion was ready, but it still had to be tested to see if it worked and what the efficacy was.

Of course, in terms of safety, there was absolutely no problem. They were all purely natural without any side effects.

My own figure being slim, I certainly couldn't test it on myself. For a moment, I felt somewhat troubled.

Thinking for a long while, suddenly an idea struck: why must I test on humans? Testing on animals could work just as well!

Coincidentally, my uncle raised a dozen pigs at home, each plump and sturdy, perfectly suitable for testing.

In the dead of night, I sneaked out to the pigsty and mixed the potion into the feed, tossing it into the pen.

Upon hearing the commotion, the pigs got up and started eating noisily.

"Good piggies! Eat more!"

Watching the pigs, I grinned widely.

Then, I returned home, prepared the remaining portions of the potion, and went to sleep peacefully.

Early the next morning, I was awakened by a scream. Listening carefully, it came from the back door, and I immediately knew my potion had worked.

I rolled out of bed, put on clothes, and went out the back door.

A crowd had already gathered near the pigsty, all looking and discussing. From the pen, a wailing voice cried, "My pigs, what's happened to them!"

Pushing through the crowd to look inside, I couldn't help but be dumbfounded.

I saw a dozen pigs, skin and bones, when just last night they were still chubby. Overnight, they've become like this. Such a strong effect truly stunned me.

"Lucky! Lucky!"

I let out a sigh of relief, never expecting the effect to be this strong. If I hadn't tested it, and it was used directly on a person, it would have slimmed them down to bones, which would have been too tragic.

"It's a real oddity! Just a few days ago, these pigs were so plump they could barely walk, and suddenly, they're like this?"

"I think they must have been startled by something, maybe The Great Immortal Roberts." A villager whispered mysteriously.

While speaking, they glanced in the direction of the big mountain.

Thompson Village is near the mountain, and legends of entities like The Great Immortal Roberts, The Snake Immortal have always been around.

"It must be aliens! The monsters have come!"

A few children shouted.

"You little rascals, watched too much TV, huh! Where would aliens come from." The adults laughed and scolded.

I also laughed; I was in a great mood. First, because the potion test was successful. Secondly, I had a small revenge on my aunt, somewhat relieving my anger.

I returned to the house, diluted the potion with tea, bottled it, and then drove the small tricycle to the county town.

After delivering to Azure Vista Pavilion, I dialed Mr. Jay's number.

"Hello?" On picking up, Mr. Jay's voice came through.

"Mr. Jay, it's Thompson!"

"Oh, Thompson, what is it, any deliveries today?"

"No, Mr. Jay, today I brought you some good stuff."

"What good stuff?" Mr. Jay's tone was a little skeptical.

"It's tea, a traditional herbal tea handed down through generations, detoxifies, and is good for health, also has some slimming effects. I noticed Mr. Jay often has heat issues, so I brought you some to try."

I didn't dare initially label it as a weight loss potion, presenting it as herbal tea to ease acceptance.

"Traditional herbal tea? Oh! Sounds good, hurry and bring it for me to taste." Mr. Jay said delightedly.

"Alright!"

I agreed and hung up the phone.

Arriving at Building 18, Mr. Jay was already out. I took out the bottle with the potion and handed it over.

Mr. Jay accepted it, opened it for a sniff, and nodded repeatedly, "Hmm! Really fragrant, good stuff! Thompson, you are thoughtful." With that, he took out his wallet, pulled out a red note, and handed it over.

"Oh! No need, no need, Mr. Jay, you try it first."

I quickly waved my hands.

"This… also fine!" Seeing me insist, Mr. Jay had to put the money away.

By evening, I received a call from Mr. Jay.

"Tha… Thompson! Oh my! Your herbal tea is amazing, absolutely incredible! Let me tell you, your tea is practically Divine Medicine! Do you know, I've lost, lost a total of twenty pounds."

On the other end of the line, Mr. Jay was exhilarated, his voice trembling a bit.

"Your tea, it's so miraculous, do you have more, send me some tomorrow, you name the price." Mr. Jay said generously.

"Alright! Mr. Jay, I'll bring you more tomorrow."

"Good! Good! Good!" Mr. Jay's tone was overflowing with excitement.

Ending the call, I let out a breath; I knew, this matter had finally succeeded!
