Chapter 33 - The Beast Unchained

Alaska moved through the storm like a blade of living vengeance.

Snow couldn't slow him.

Cold couldn't touch him.

Fear couldn't stop him.

Kenan struggled to keep up, panting as he read the signal tracker.

"She's definitely here," Kenan said. "Kavron is waiting for you."

"That's his mistake."

Alaska's eyes glowed like wildfire in the night.

"He thinks he's hunting me."

A slow, terrifying smirk curved his lips.

"But I am coming to end him."

Inside the Dungeon

Alana struggled against the cuffs biting into her wrists. Her pulse pounded so loud she barely heard the faint tremor beneath the flood.

Heavy steps.

Steady.

Deadly.

Her breath caught.

Alaska.

Kavron stood near the monitors, watching the radar.

"So. The beast arrives."

He motioned to his soldiers.

"Bring him to me alive. I want him conscious when I break him."

His men rushed out.

Alana's dread sharpened into resolve.

She leaned forward, forcing Kavron to look at her.

"You won't break him," she hissed.

"You'll just show him why he should kill you slowly."

Kavron grabbed her hair viciously.

"You think he loves you?" he spat. "He obsesses over you because he fears losing control. You are his weakness."

"No," Alana whispered through gritted teeth.

"I am his reason."

The room shook violently.

Gunfire. Screams.

Kavron's smile disappeared.

"He's here."

The Monster Arrives

The elevator exploded upward as a body flew through the doors.

A soldier landed at Kavron's feet neck twisted unnaturally.

Then footsteps echoed into view.

Alaska.

Blood splattered his jaw.

Snowflakes melted across his coat.

His knife glimmered wet and red.

He looked like death carved into a man.

Every guard raised their gun but only bullets answered.

Alaska moved like war incarnate.

He tore through them with a ferocity that bordered on animal.

Gunshots roared.

Men fell before they even understood they were dead.

Kenan shouted orders from behind cover but Alaska wasn't listening.

His world had narrowed to one heartbeat.

Alana's.

Face to Face

With the last guard collapsing, Alaska lifted his gaze to Kavron.

His voice was quiet.

Dead quiet.

"Where is she?"

Kavron stepped aside, revealing Alana chained, bruised, but alive.

Relief and rage collided in Alaska's chest.

His breath trembled.

"If you touch her again," Alaska said, stepping forward,

"I will peel your skin off while you're still screaming."

Kavron laughed darkly.

"I already touched her. But don't worry only long enough to make you angry."

Alaska's body shook with pure wrath.

"Good."

His smile was ice.

"That means I don't have to end this quickly."

The Trap

Before Alaska could strike, Kavron pressed a button.

The floor beneath Alana glowed an electric grid.

She cried out in shock as volts surged through her body.

Her body jerked violently against the chair.

"ALANA!" Alaska roared.

Kavron aimed a gun directly at the center of herchest.

"One move," he sneered,

"And she dies."

Alaska froze hands lifting slowly in surrender.

His voice broke, raw and desperate.

"Please… don't hurt her."

Kavron tilted his head mockingly.

"The great Alaska Direndra. Begging."

He walked behind Alana, fingers brushing her neck tauntingly.

Alaska's vision blurred red.

"I'll do anything," he said shakily.

"Take me instead. Torture me. Just don't touch her."

For the first time…

Kavron looked genuinely intrigued.

"So the beast does love."

Alana forced out a breath, shaking:

"Don't don't surrender for me."

Alaska's eyes never left hers.

"I would surrender the world for you."

Impossible Choices

Kavron began tightening his grip on Alana's throat.

"Let's see how far that love goes"

A bullet sang through the air.

Kavron jerked back blood blooming from his shoulder.

Kenan yelled, "ALASKA, MOVE!"

The power grid cut off as a stray bullet smashed the control box.

Alana gasped, free of the electricity.

Alaska launched forward fast enough to break sound.

Kavron staggered away, clutching his wound, but Alaska didn't chase him.

He fell to his knees in front of Alana, fingers trembling as he broke her restraints.

"Are you hurt? Did he did they?"

Tears filled her lashes.

"You came for me."

His forehead pressed against hers.

"I will always come for you."

Then he kissed her desperate, fierce, claiming like he needed her breath to live.

She kissed him back with the same hunger.

Alive. Together.

For now.

The War Reignites

Kavron staggered up, hatred burning in his eyes.

"This isn't over, Alaska!"

He fley through a steel door as his remaining soldiers laid down cover fire.

Kenan cursed.

"He's running! If we don't chase him now."

Alaska lifted Alana into his arms, holding her against his chest.

"We go," Alaska growled.

"Together."

Alana clutched his coat.

"I can fight now," she whispered.

Alaska looked down at her pride glowing in the darkness.

"I know," he answered.

"And that terrifies me more than anything."

But a small, wicked smile curved her lips.

"Then be terrified with me."

United in Ruin

Alaska's eyes sharpened into lethal vow.

"Kavron took you from me once," he said.

"He'll never get the chance again."

He carried her into the storm Kenan following, reloading beside them.

Behind them, alarms wailed.

The base burned.

Ahead of them War waited.

But now Alaska and Alana walked into it together.

Not a monster and a victim but two obsessions intertwined. Two hearts sharpened into weapons. One love ready to destroy the world.
