Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 – Foundations in the Shadows

It had been almost two years since we arrived in this world. Two years of strategy, maneuvering, and constant vigilance.

And things were… surprisingly good.

My army had grown stronger, more disciplined, and far more loyal than I could have hoped. Not just my soldiers—the ones trained to fight and obey—but our subordinates. The ones we had personally handpicked, tested, and forged into pillars of our budding empire. Every decision they made, every mission they undertook, carried the mark of absolute loyalty.

The beginnings of the SCP Foundation were quietly taking shape. Hidden compounds, secret libraries, and early containment structures were scattered across territories we controlled, disguised as temples, fortresses, and palaces. Nothing extravagant yet—but enough to start a network that would one day rival any organization in human history.

I stood on a balcony overlooking my main base, my thoughts turning over the progress like a strategist calculating the next thousand moves in a war game.

We had started small, with only our most trusted subordinates. Those who had proven themselves loyal beyond reason—those who understood that what we were building wasn't just an organization, but the safeguard of humanity itself.

Cleopatra had taken the lead on medical facilities and research wings. She had already begun experimenting with primitive containment and treatment methods. Julius was consolidating power in Rome, securing soldiers, spies, and political pawns alike. Darius had begun weaving a network of intelligence operatives across Persia, secretly funneling information back to our central command. Jonah—quiet, meticulous, almost frighteningly precise—was constructing our early technological and magical infrastructure, using Flash Forge and his uncanny intellect to create what no one in this era could even imagine.

And me? I was Alexander—female, reborn, unchallenged in authority by my army. I had been training my troops, expanding my borders, and preparing the first real central base for the Foundation, a facility designed to be impenetrable even by the most cunning of ancient minds.

Yet despite all this progress, a small knot of unease sat at the back of my mind.

We were powerful, yes—but not invincible. The God who had placed us here was still watching, still waiting for the "fun" part to begin. And when it did, there was no telling what could appear: SCPs, cosmic entities, eldritch horrors, or even Marvel heroes and villains with agendas we couldn't anticipate.

For now, though… things were calm.

I allowed myself a small, satisfied smile.

"Two years," I whispered to no one but myself, "and we've built the first roots of something that will one day control the fate of this world—and maybe more than this world."

From the balcony, I could see the men and women working in the compound below, unaware of the full scope of what they were helping to create. And I made a silent vow: this Foundation would survive. It would endure. And it would be ready for whatever horrors awaited.

Because if the God who had toyed with our lives wanted a game…I intended to win it.
