Chapter 506 - Thumbs up from Tang Kun and five-star praise from Shen Anyu!

Chapter 506: Thumbs up from Tang Kun and five-star praise from Shen Anyu!

It was another braised chicken and rice, and Tang Kun was already traumatized. When he went to the merchant to pick up the order, he was extremely careful, afraid of taking the wrong one again.

As a result, when he was about to deliver it, he was almost thrown off by a car. The deafening screech of tires tearing against asphalt ripped through the air, and a black sedan fishtailed wildly around a blind corner, its grille lunging toward him like a hungry beast. Adrenaline dumped into Tang Kun's system, a cold fire that sent his limbs into motion before his brain could even process the threat. He wrenched the handlebars of the flimsy Sharing bicycle with all his might, throwing his weight to the side in a desperate, graceless lurch.

He dodged in time, the car's bumper missing his leg by a hair's breadth. The wind from its passage buffeted him, a violent shove that sent him tumbling onto the pavement. But the bike and the precious cargo were not so lucky. There was a sickening crunch of metal as the sedan's fender clipped the bicycle, twisting its frame into a mangled pretzel. The insulated box, strapped precariously to the back, was launched into the air, flipping end over end before it exploded against the ground. The scent of savory braised chicken and steamed rice instantly filled the air, a tragic perfume mingling with the acrid smell of burnt rubber. The meal lay scattered across the dirty concrete, a ruined mess of sauce and grains.

He failed again.

As Tang Kun's expression turned blank, a wave of profound despair washing over him, a bizarre and horrifying sensation began on his scalp. It was a faint tingling, then a loosening, as if the very roots of his hair were giving up. He watched in stupefied horror as thick clumps of his own hair detached and began to fall, drifting down past his shoulders like dead leaves in autumn. In seconds, his once-full head of hair was gone, leaving behind a smooth, pale, and utterly bald scalp. The cool afternoon breeze felt alien and mocking against his newly exposed skin.

"It's nothing, it's nothing… just baldness. I can get hair implants. I have money!" Tang Kun said through gritted teeth, his voice a choked whisper. He ran a trembling hand over his slick, naked head. The punishment of baldness was psychologically devastating, but physically, it was acceptable. He could fix it with money. It was far, far better than his pride and joy, his "Kun Kun," shrinking by half again.

The subsequent takeout deliveries, blessedly, went smoothly. After a string of successful orders, the System rewarded him handsomely. With a triumphant ding, the key fob to a brand-new Porsche materialized in his hand. The weight of it felt solid, real, a tangible symbol of his power.

"I told you, a person can't always have bad luck," Tang Kun breathed, a genuine sigh of relief escaping his lips as he admired the sleek, crimson sports car. He felt his confidence surge back. "After two unlucky incidents, I won't encounter any more accidents." If his luck soured again after this, he felt he would truly start doubting his life.

And then, Tang Kun really started doubting his life. The universe seemed to have heard his boast and taken it as a personal challenge. The temporary reprieve was over, and a fresh hell began. Out of ten takeout deliveries, at least three or four were plagued by an increasingly absurd series of problems.

The first was a sudden cascade of foul, murky water that rained down from an upper-floor balcony, drenching him and the paper bag containing the customer's order. The food was ruined, and he stank of stale dishwater. Next, as he navigated a busy pedestrian street, an old man suddenly threw himself in front of his new scooter, collapsing to the ground with a theatrical groan. A crowd instantly formed, their accusing glares pinning him in place as the man wailed about his "broken" hip. Even more ridiculous, he arrived at an apartment complex just in time to witness a domestic dispute spill into the hallway. A man, caught cheating, was being violently beaten by his furious partner and several of her friends. In the chaos of flying fists and furious shouts, the takeout bag was swatted from Tang Kun's hand, its contents splattering against the wall. To add insult to injury, one of the enraged friends mistook him for an accomplice and landed a solid punch to his jaw, sending him staggering.

With each failure came a fresh, inventive punishment from the System. He experienced the suffocating agony of drowning, his lungs burning for air that wouldn't come, phantom water filling his throat until he blacked out. He writhed on the pavement as the System simulated the pain of being burned alive, an inferno of pure sensation that made every nerve ending scream. He was subjected to the indescribable, tearing torment of childbirth, a brutal, crushing pressure that made him question his sanity. And to top it all off, a sharp, hollowing pain lanced through his side, leaving him breathless and with the permanent, chilling knowledge that he had lost a kidney.

Shen Anyu was all smiles. His smile wouldn't disappear; it would only transfer from one person's face to another's.

At this moment, Shen Anyu was in a great mood. Lounging in the opulent penthouse suite, he was especially enjoying Zhou Luyao's… automatic service. Her earlier defiance had melted away, replaced by a pliant and eager-to-please demeanor that he found quite amusing. As he idly swiped through his phone, a thought struck him, sharp and clear.

'Tang Kun's Takeout Tycoon System… the orders come directly from the takeout platform,' he mused, a predatory light glinting in his eyes. 'So, does that mean I can also place orders for him?'

As Shen Anyu pondered the possibilities, the smile playing on his lips grew even richer. An idea, simple yet beautifully cruel, began to form.

At this moment, miles away, Tang Kun was in a daze. His expression was utterly blank, his eyes hollow and devoid of their former light. However overjoyed, excited, and thrilled he was when he first received the System, he was now just as miserable, teetering on the very edge of a complete mental breakdown.

"Why is this happening?" he muttered to the empty street, his voice raw with anguish. "Did getting the Takeout Tycoon System exhaust all my luck? Why am I so unlucky now?"

Tang Kun didn't understand, he really didn't understand. In the past, when he was just a regular delivery driver, he might not encounter such bizarre and troublesome events in an entire month. Now, they were happening multiple times a day, a relentless, soul-crushing parade of misfortune.

He was going crazy, absolutely crazy!

In Tang Kun's imagination, after getting the Takeout Tycoon System, he would become a magnate. He would reach the pinnacle of life, make his ex-girlfriend Zhou Luyao regret abandoning him so deeply that she would chase him like a madwoman. He would hook up with all sorts of beautiful campus belles, living a life of hedonistic bliss.

But now? His "Kun Kun" had shrunk by half, and he had lost a kidney. How could he even play like this? His grand fantasy had collapsed into a grim, painful reality.

With a 'ding,' another Takeout Tycoon System mission arrived. Tang Kun sighed, a sound of pure exhaustion. What else could he do? He could only accept it. Fortunately, this time the punishment wasn't severe—just a five-centimeter reduction in height. Of course, Tang Kun still hoped to complete the mission. He prayed that, just this once, he could succeed without failing or receiving a bad review, so he wouldn't be punished.

"Deliver a takeout order to the Hilton penthouse suite?"

Tang Kun looked at the mission details and let out a dry, humorless chuckle. 'Heh, a penthouse suite.' The irony wasn't lost on him. He was a rich man now, at least on paper. This was the kind of lifestyle he was supposed to be living.

"When Yaoyao sees my luxury car and villa, and witnesses Tang Kun's financial power, she'll definitely regret it," he muttered, clinging to the thought like a life raft. "By then, I won't even acknowledge her, hehe."

This time, the journey was startlingly smooth. He arrived outside the Hilton penthouse suite without incident. Tang Kun had originally thought he might be stopped by condescending security guards or waiters who looked down on people in a delivery uniform, but it was surprisingly easy. The staff were polite, professional, and efficient.

"As expected of five-star service, they are indeed professional. There won't be any situations where people look down on others. I'll stay at the Hilton from now on," Tang Kun thought to himself, a small bit of his confidence returning. He used to think that the arrogant security guards and waiters in novels were too exaggerated. Although such people existed, the overall quality in high-end establishments was usually excellent. You get what you pay for; the service level is high.

Just then, the door opened.

"Hey, is that you?"

When he clearly saw the handsome guy who walked out, Tang Kun was quite surprised. He had a deep impression of Shen Anyu's appearance because he was simply too handsome, far surpassing even the big stars on TV.

Moreover, when his goddess Zhou Luyao coldly broke up with him, he stood up and encouraged him, saying that there were plenty of fish in the sea, and that a man should stand up and he would meet someone better, and they would see who would regret it.

Not long after, he awakened the Takeout Tycoon System.

Tang Kun felt as if Shen Anyu's words had a magical effect, bringing him great fortune and being incredibly accurate. He had even planned to promote Shen Anyu as his subordinate.

Now he saw Shen Anyu living in the Hilton presidential suite.

Tang Kun immediately teased:

"Brother, I didn't expect you to be a rich second-generation! Oh, by the way, thank you for your encouragement earlier. I've noted this favor, so if you ever need anything, come find Tang Kun."

With the Takeout Tycoon System, Tang Kun's confidence was overflowing. What if he lived in the Hilton presidential suite? What if he was a rich second-generation? He was a man with the Takeout Tycoon System, a tycoon.

"Oh, right, brother, remember to give me a five-star review!"

"No problem, I'll give you a five-star review." Shen Anyu said with a smile.

Tang Kun heard a 'ding' in his mind, the sound of the mission being successfully completed, and he immediately let out a long sigh of relief.

This time it was too smooth. He even met someone he had seen before and received a five-star review.

Tang Kun looked at Shen Anyu with even more approval, chuckled, and made a somewhat lewd guess:

"Brother, is that your girlfriend or your wife inside? I don't think it's your wife."

Tang Kun looked at the presidential suite, but of course, he couldn't see anyone.

Shen Anyu said meaningfully:

"Of course not my wife. I'm not married yet. The woman I just met is one of my potential girlfriends."

"Good heavens, a potential girlfriend, and 'one of them'! Brother, you're amazing!"

Tang Kun immediately gave him a thumbs up.
