Chapter 9 - Distraction

Seo-in pulled back just enough to level him with that look—the one that had always made his knees weak since high school.

"You already have me, you idiot," she said, flicking his forehead for emphasis.

Luca caught her wrist before she could retreat, pressing her palm flat against his chest where his heartbeat betrayed him.

"Yeah?" he challenged—voice rough but eyes unbearably soft. "Then say it again."

Predictably she rolled her eyes, but the corner of her mouth twitched up anyway as she leaned in close enough that their noses brushed.

"...You're stuck with me forever, Luca-yah."

And just like that? His laptop along with every coherent thought he'd ever had about money or resumes or Seoul's approval—tumbled forgotten onto the bedsheets behind them.

"Screw it," Luca thought, before pulling her against him in a single, fluid movement.

Seo-in barely had time to gasp before his lips found the pulse point on her neck, right below her jaw—warm and deliberate ... the same way all his touches were lately. Her hands flew up reflexively to clutch at his bare shoulders with a soft squeak, nails digging in as she shivered.

His teeth skimmed the sensitive skin below her ear, earning a breathy,

"Luca-yah—" that sounded halfway to a moan.

He was addicted to the way she said his name—like it was something precious, something hers. His fingers tightened against her waist as he pulled back just enough to smirk at her dazed expression.

"Say it again," he murmured, lips brushing hers with each word.

Seo-in huffed—still stubborn even now, but her hands slid up to tangle in his hair anyway, pulling him closer.

"I said you're stuck with me," she repeated breathlessly ... right before closing the last inch between them herself.

Luca's laugh dissolved into the kiss as their bodies slotted together perfectly—like they were made for this: for tangled limbs and soft murmurs and early mornings where nothing else mattered but the two of them. It didn't matter if this wasn't what a responsible adult was supposed to do. It didn't matter that his laptop still sat discarded next to them or that the next morning would bring lectures to attend and family politics to navigate.

In this moment, with Seo-in's fingers tracing patterns on his back and her voice whispering his name in that half-wrecked way that always made him lose his goddamn mind?

There was nothing else worth thinking about at all. God, but he was in hopelessly deep with this woman.

Luca's hand slipped under the hem of her shirt, his fingertips grazing the strip of bare skin above her hips. Seo-in arched into his touch—then suddenly broke the kiss, biting back a gasp as she pressed her forehead against his shoulder. The motion unintentionally pressed her into a certain part of his anatomy that was quickly becoming a problem, and Luca nearly groaned aloud at the heat pooling in his stomach.

God. Damnit.

Seo-in huffed a breathless laugh against his neck, fingers scrabbling for purchase on his shoulders as she shifted intentionally against the growing bulge between their bodies. He had to bite the inside of his cheek not to swear out loud.

God. The last shred of his resolve was in serious danger of snapping.

"Seo-in—" he ground out through clenched teeth, fingers digging into her waist in a silent plea to stop moving for five seconds.

He felt her smirk against his bare skin—then she deliberately ground her hips lower, right against the very place that was rapidly becoming a problem, and Luca's strangled gasp caught in his throat. He couldn't quite tell if his head was swimming because of how good it felt or how dangerous this was starting to get.

"Stop—" he warned again, but Seo-in only tightened her legs around his waist. "Christ," this woman was going to be the death of him.

Luca's hands flew to her hips, stilling her movements as he pulled back just enough to glare at her—eyes dark with frustration and something else that made Seo-in's breath hitch.

"Seo-in," he growled, voice rough. "If you don't stop right now—"

She cut him off with a defiant eyebrow raise, daring him to finish that sentence. Luca's jaw tightened. Then—in one swift motion, he flipped them over, pinning her beneath him with a thud that knocked the smugness right out of her expression. His knees caged hers; his hands trapped hers above her head against the mattress. The sudden shift left Seo-in breathless beneath him—cheeks flushed and lips parted in surprise. A look he was determined to memorize forever.

He leaned down slowly until his mouth brushed the shell of her ear, "You asked for this."

Before Seo-in could retort, Luca's lips crashed back onto hers—this time rough, with none of their earlier teasing restraint. One hand stayed locked around her wrists while the other slid down her body in a slow, deliberate path that made her arch off the bed with a muffled whimper against his mouth. His thumb hooked under the waistband of her sleep shorts.

"Last chance," he murmured against her jawline, teeth grazing skin as she squirmed under him. "Beg me to stop."

Seo-in's answering laugh was breathless but sharp—her knee jerking up instinctively and dangerously close to certain vital areas as she wrenched one wrist free to tug at his hair.

"Make me," she challenged, eyes glittering with defiance even as her pulse rabbited beneath his grip on her other wrist.

Luca exhaled through his nose—half exasperated, half turned-on beyond rational thought—before muttering into the crook of her neck.

"...God help me."

Then, with a sharp, devastating, tug at the fabric of her shorts, he gave up on all self-control entirely. Seo-in's gasp dissolved into a moan that she desperately tried and failed to stifle, her free hand clawing at his bare shoulder with a desperation that made something in his chest clench tightly.

He couldn't stop himself from devouring her. It had been weeks of late nights and near misses and stolen moments. Weeks of trying to ignore the way she'd started to drive him goddamn insane without even trying.

Interruption—Clock Alarm Blaring.

The shrill beeping of Luca's phone alarm shattered the moment like glass.

Seo-in flinched violently beneath him, both of them freezing mid-motion as the sound echoed through the room. For a suspended second, neither moved—just ragged breathing and tangled limbs and glaring at the offending device on the nightstand like it had personally betrayed them.

Then Luca groaned, dropping his forehead to her collarbone in defeat as Seo-in burst into breathless laughter beneath him.

[7:30 AM]Algorithms Lecture – NOW.

The reminder flashed mockingly on-screen.

Luca exhaled heavily against her skin before lifting his head just enough to meet Seo-in's still-laughing eyes—her lips kiss-swollen and hair hopelessly mussed from his hands.

God. He was so fucking screwed and not in the fun way.

"I hate my life," he muttered, making zero effort to move off her despite how thoroughly their morning plans had just been ruined by responsibility.

Seo-in grinned up at him, fingers tracing idle patterns along his back. "You're not getting out of this that easily," she murmured, voice still laced with amusement and something far more dangerous. "We're finishing what we started later."

Luca groaned again—partly from frustration, partly from the way her nails lightly scraped down his spine in a silent promise.

"I hate you," he grumbled into her shoulder ... even as he pressed one last lingering kiss to the hollow of her throat before finally dragging himself off the bed.

Seo-in just smirked at his retreating back, knowing full well he was already counting down the minutes until they could pick up where they left off.
