Chapter 1 - Call from Another World.

My name is Sakudaira Keisuke, fifteen years old.

I was supposed to start high school next spring… but fate had other plans.

"Success! The Heroes from another world have been summoned!"

I opened my eyes inside a grand ritual chamber.

A glowing magic circle pulsed beneath my feet, and three other Japanese people stood beside me, looking just as confused.

"What the hell…?"

"What is this place…?"

"Nuhoho! Classic isekai summoning, baby!"

Two were panicking; the third was practically vibrating with excitement.

Me? I was trying not to grin like an idiot.

Up until five seconds ago I was the definition of average—no talents, no looks, no future worth mentioning.

I'd already accepted a lifetime of mediocrity.

Then boom: summoned as a hero. My light-novel-obsessed heart was doing backflips.

A stunning woman stepped forward—long, glamorous hair, elegant dress, and curves that could stop traffic.

"I apologize for the sudden summons, brave Heroes. I am Walurge von Celestgard, Queen of the Kingdom of Celestgard."

A queen. Of course.

She bowed gracefully and got straight to the point: a Demon King is conquering the world, the locals can't stop him, so they summoned us to do it instead.

Standard template. I was already hooked.

The flashy twenty-something guy groaned. "This is such a drag. I've got work—can't you just send us back?"

The queen shook her head. "I'm afraid return magic was lost long ago. Only the Demon King himself might know it."

Perfect. Beat the final boss to go home. I could practically hear the epic BGM starting.

The others reluctantly agreed to help.

I was 100% on board with the excited otaku dude—my adventure was finally beginning.

After introductions (Yamada Charao, Ueda Shizuka, Iida Otaku, and me), the queen announced the next step: receiving the Three Divine Gifts all heroes get.

1. Item Box (infinite storage for non-living things)

2. Appraisal (see an object's info)

3. A unique Sacred Weapon only you can wield—and nothing else.

Four pillars of light crashed down.

Charao drew a gleaming sword.

Shizuka got an elegant spear.

Iida cheered at his ornate longbow—"Perfect! I suck at close combat stuff like melee anyway!"

Then my light faded… revealing the exact commuter bag I was supposed to use for high school.

A plain black school bag.

Dead silence. Then Charao lost it. "A BAG?! You're kidding me!"

Shizuka just sighed. "How exactly do you fight a Demon King with stationery?"

Iida slapped my back. "Chin up, Keisuke-dono! Every Sacred Weapon has a hidden power!"

The queen instructed us to use Appraisal. The knowledge appeared in my mind instantly.

[Appraisal]

Hero's Bag

Unique Skill: ■Box

→ A box connected to another dimension.

…In other words, it was pretty much a second Item Box.

It had the same ability that literally everyone already has.

Charao was crying with laughter. "Bro got the duplicate common skill! Absolute trash pull!"

Shizuka muttered, "Completely worthless."

Iida still tried to cheer me up, but even he looked a little pale.

The queen smiled politely, then murmured under her breath, "…Three functional heroes should suffice. The defective one can be disposed of quietly."

My stomach dropped.

Is my glorious isekai life already game-over before the tutorial even started?
