(Ellion's POV)
I was sitting down in a bench, staring off into the sky as I was thinking about everything that had happened.
It was too much.
To think that I would meet my own mother in this place.
"Tch...." I said, closing my eyes and shaking my head, "I don't want to think about it."
It was all too much to even think about. What she said, it was hard to understand or believe. If what she says is true, then I was conceived with no Father.
The work of The Goddess; the one from my Dreams. I don't understand what exactly she is, but I know she is a power beyond the Gods of this realm. The Seven haven't shown much of their influence compared to this Goddess, the one who supposedly conceived me.
She granted me the power I have; she sent me here. But the way she did it was so ridiculous; I don't even know how to process it.
I opened my eyes and looked straight at the ground, "What am I supposed to do?" I ssaid aloud, hoping nobody would see it, "What is my purpose? Why would I even be here?"
I spent my life being promiscuous; is that what I am supposed to do? I don't know. I was put in this world for a reason, I just need to know what that reason is. That Goddess did it, she is the reason for why I am here.
But every decision I have made, it felt like it was my own. Was she aware that I would become a man of lust, someone who would live his life how he wants. Was this something she was hoping for? Did the Goddess want the Fate of this world to change, little by little, by having me infiltrate the history books and change the wording? By having me in these people's lives, influencing them completely.
By being in the King's home and fucking his wife.
Is this what I am meant to do?
Fuck, this is something alright.
I mean, not only did I fuck the King's wife, but many Lords' wives as well. And to make it worse, my path of debauchery has led to me bedding my own mother, without myself knowing. It wasn't just a simple "bedding".
I will say it as crude as it is; I fucked my mother passionately.
It feels like that one ancient story from my world; I can barely remember the name.
I looked up into the sky, "Why can't I remember?" I said aloud, "What is that figure's name...?"
An ancient story about a Hero who unwillingly fulfilled a prophecy about killing his father and marrying his own mother. It was quite the tale; they even named a complex after him.
"Oedipus....." I said, chuckling slightly, "I'm Oedipus, huh?"
"Who is that?" I heard a voice say
I was so distracted by my own thoughts that my Observation Haki had been lowered to the point where I couldn't feel someone sneaking up on me.
That was a big mistake on my part, I had to pay more attention.
I looked to the side and saw Rhaella standing before me, wearing a beautiful white dress with gold embroidery.
I stood up, "My Queen..." I said, clearing my throat, "I did not see you there."
She tilted her head, giving me a warm smile, "Oh?" She said, "You are always on guard, Ser Ellion. I wonder what is on your mind for you not to know that I was coming to you."
I placed my hands behind my back, spreading my Observation Haki all around us and confirming that we were alone. The Queen has been getting quite bold as of lately, going to me by herself, leaving us alone at a single spot.
People could catch on and this might endanger her.
But I saw it in her eyes; she didn't care about any of that. She looked at me with nothing but desire and devotion.
She looked so beautiful, I forgot every worry that I was going through.
"I apologize, Your Grace." I said, "I should pay more attention."
She looked around, "Are we alone?" she asked softly, "You have a way of knowing such things."
I nodded, "We are." I said, "I am sure of it."
She reached for my cheek, "Is something the matter?" She asked, "You don't look too happy, Ser Ellion."
"I....." I said, feeling her hand caress my cheek, "I am fine, Your Grace."
"That...." She said softly, pressing herself against me, "That is a lie."
I didn't know how to react to this, Rhaella was clearly showing more affection that I would expect at this time.
"My Queen....I...." I said
"Something must've happened." She said as she cupped my face with both her hands, "And I won't mind listening to what you have to say. I promise, I won't tell a single soul."
"What I have to say is not something you would be able to comprehend." I said, "I am sorry, Your Grace...."
She gave me a slight smile, "Very well." She said, "When you are ready, I suppose. So....who is this....Oedipus?"
"He was a Man." I said, "An old story that I remember. He was a Hero who was prophesied to be a King of an ancient kingdom."
I had no other way of saying it, considering that I didn't want to tell her anything about my true origin. Not only that, I didn't want her to know the truth of Oedipus; him bedding his own mother without him knowing.
"Ah." She said, "It is not a story I am familiar with."
"Yes...." I said, "It is very old."
"Hm...." She stepped back, "You are Oedipus? You are meant to be King? I wonder what that means....."
I blinked, "O-Oh." I said, "No, My Queen, that is not what I meant."
"The one who beds with the Queen shall be King." She said with a smile, "Mayhaps you are already King....in my eyes, that is. So, perhaps you truly are this Oedipus."
I sighed and looked down, "Is that what you think?"
"Ellion..." She reached for my hand, "I care deeply for you. It may be wrong. Whatever is truly on your mind, I expect you trust me enough to tell me."
"For my heart belongs to you."
