In Night City, the Tyger Claws might be a bit different from other gangs.
The high-ranking members of the Tyger Claws are always in suits, smoking cigars, and presenting themselves as legitimate businesspeople.
In other words, they are considered one of the more intelligent gangs in Night City, unlike their counterparts who turn their territories into chaotic messes.
Japantown in the Westbrook District is a prime example; the Tyger Claws don't exploit resources there but choose to do business. They've opened casinos, bars, nightclubs, and various luxury clothing stores and boutiques. The area is filled with skyscrapers, clean and busy streets, presenting a vibrant scene.
Under the strict prohibitions of the Tyger Claws' higher-ups, the lower-ranking Tyger Claws do not interfere with tourists but instead maintain order. To some extent, the gang here is even more concerned with public safety than the NCPD Officers.
Thanks to this, the Tyger Claws haven't let their territory fall into the mire of robberies and street fights. Japantown has transformed into a famous tourist destination in Night City, attracting a number of tourists each day equivalent to the population of three suburban cities.
But a gang is still a gang; doing business doesn't change their undisguised style of burning, killing, and looting.
The Tyger Claws set their sights on new territory: Kabuki and Chinatown.
They dispatched their forces there and almost succeeded, until the movement sparked by the Lizzy Bar, the formation of the Moxes, and the public protests against the Tyger Claws by residents on the streets.
That was a grand event; half of Night City participated.
Sometimes public opinion is useless, but sometimes, at a critical moment, public opinion plays a decisive role. It wasn't until then that the Tyger Claws realized this was no joke.
In the end, of course, the Tyger Claws compromised, because of the public movement, the Night City Council had to play its part.
The expansion of the Tyger Claws could only proceed in secret. The Moxes gained a respite (breathing room), and along with them, the various gangs in Chinatown also gained valuable time to develop.
Although now it's been intercepted by Berry's Hive Organization.
Berry dominated Night City's cheap cyberware market, so naturally, she wouldn't let go.
Therefore, even if Berry and the Tyger Claws didn't have yesterday's feud, it would be impossible for them to coexist peacefully.
After all, who gets the money from Night City's poor citizens is a matter worth discussing.
"We must consolidate our market. The Tyger Claws, the Scavengers, no one should think of interfering with our business."
"At the same time, we must also expand our organization's operations. After all, a single tree cannot stand alone; everyone understands this principle, right?"
Berry added, intending to make the Hive Organization great again according to her plan.
Why not?
What kind of organization is the Hive Organization? Is it just an ordinary gang?
No, Berry is very clear about the positioning of her Hive Organization; it is Night City's number one charitable organization, with no second contender.
Therefore, Berry is full of confidence in the future development of the Hive.
It's time to give Night City a little Hive shock, Berry thought to herself.
Just kidding, how could she, a great philanthropist who loves all humanity, create some terrifying organization?
While busy preparing to upgrade V and the others for the exoskeleton armor era, Berry's bar quietly opened.
There was no promotion, no advertising, and no activities like giving away eggs or oil. The bar, which was just a renovated casino on the first floor, opened for business.
To be honest, Berry didn't pay much attention to the bar's operation.
In Night City, legal businesses don't make money as fast as gray industries. Her main purpose in changing this bar was to provide a place for her subordinates to entertain themselves and chat.
After all, the Hive now employs a hundred or so people, and for their physical and mental health, entertainment venues are necessary.
Berry is truly a good boss that would be hard to find even with a lantern in Night City.
Of course, selling some drinks and snacks, and circulating the wages paid to subordinates back into the business, then reissuing them as wages, is very necessary. After all, it's better for her own people to earn this money than for others to.
Night City's entertainment options, though seemingly many, are actually limited to a few things. Among them, besides the pleasure industry, the alcohol industry is one of the most lucrative. After all, at night, who doesn't want to drink a little and relax, celebrating another day survived in this crazy city?
If someone else earned this money, Berry would feel worse than losing money.
So, Berry decided that in the future, all drinks in her bar would be 20% off for Hive employees, and then she would aggressively squeeze them for money, taking back as much of the distributed wages as possible.
Berry didn't plan to run a nightclub for the bar's operation; she intended to run it like the Wolf Bar, just a place for drinking and chatting.
"...Good, a little more to the left, a little more to the left, yes, that's about right."
At the bar's entrance, Berry stood with her hands on her hips, gesticulating at two Honeycomb Mercenaries standing on scaffolding in front of the main door.
"Damn, Berry, what kind of spectacle are you putting on?"
"Hmm, it actually looks pretty decent."
Berry was directing the mercenaries to hang the bar's large neon sign when two voices came from behind her.
"Hey, isn't that Viktor and Jackie? You guys are early."
It was evening, the time when day had passed, and the exhausted residents of Night City were preparing to spend their hard-earned money in bars and nightclubs under the cover of night.
Jackie and Viktor walked along the road and came to Berry's side.
"Damn, your sign is huge! Anyone who didn't know would think it was Night City Bank."
