There were too many applicants. On Allen's suggestion, Roger decided to conduct a simple test first. He asked everyone who applied to join the team to be divided into groups of ten and fly a lap around the field.
This was indeed a wise decision.
The first group of ten were all freshmen; it was clear they had never been on a plane before.
Only a few children managed to stay airborne for a couple of seconds, but it was clear they were unfamiliar with flying. They flew a little higher, performed a few Quidditch maneuvers, and then became very frightened; judging by their performance in their first few Flying lessons with Madam Hooch, they seemed to have overestimated their abilities .
The second group consisted of girls. Clearly, their goal in attending the tryouts wasn't to make the team. Despite being far better flyers than the boys in the lower grades, they ignored instructions and simply circled in the air around Allen, occasionally bursting into incomprehensible laughter. When Roger told them to leave the field, they continued chatting and laughing as they walked towards the spectator stands behind Allen, still pointing at him.
The third group initially performed well, moving rapidly across the field, but a mistake by one of them triggered a chain reaction, causing half the group to crash to the ground in a heap.
When I observed them in groups, I noticed that most of those who could fly successfully and possessed good skills were upperclassmen, and the skill gap between these students wasn't actually that significant.
Allen grew a little impatient. He looked at Roger .
The captain in front of him was still seriously conducting the tryouts; he was determined to choose the most suitable batter . Roger preferred big, strong players.
Allen first decided to organize his collection.
Allen was thrilled when he considered acquiring a House of Black collection .
His consciousness couldn't help but immerse itself in the collectibles on the storage grid.
Lost in thought at the corner leading to the Room of Requirement , Allen suddenly bumped into someone.
Caught off guard, Allen took two steps back.
"Oh, Allen, I'm so sorry."
Hearing the voice, Allen looked up and saw that it was actually Percy Weasley .
Had someone cast the Imperio spell on Percy ? The person he was facing was completely different from the Percy he'd seen in the Great Hall .
He stammered, his tongue was tied, his face was bright red; he looked like a frog caught on a harpoon.
Allen looked at him suspiciously. If he remembered correctly, he knew it was his fault for bumping into him, so why was Percy, with whom he wasn't usually on good terms, apologizing first?
Seeing the strange, somewhat fawning expression on Percy's face , and associating it with the news he'd received, he suddenly understood.
To Allen's knowledge, Percy wanted to work for the Ministry of Magic after graduation , and his family's influence within the Ministry of Magic was quite significant.
Percy must have been trying to get along with Owen to prevent him from speaking ill of him in front of his father, or perhaps he even wanted to use him to make a good impression on his family.
"No problem," said Allen.
Percy froze for a moment, then he too began to smile.
" I heard Ravenclaw is choosing a Beater today ? Then you must be the Seeker in place of Cho Chang ?"
Percy didn't leave; instead, he found a topic and pretended he wanted to have a long conversation.
Allen's heart and mind were currently filled with the collection he had painstakingly amassed over the past few years. How could he possibly discuss Ravenclaw's Quidditch team organization with Percy ? Besides, to his usual understanding, the other side wasn't particularly enthusiastic about Quidditch either .
Allen could only manage a polite smile and nod.
But the other side seemed emboldened by that polite smile; he leaned his body towards Allen, making him resemble a hunchback.
"Allen, you'll definitely be the best Seeker at Hogwarts ," Percy praised enthusiastically .
Allen stared at him in astonishment.
Her face was bright red, and she seemed to realize she'd been too eager.
" You'll definitely beat Cedric , good luck," Percy added immediately.
To prevent Percy from saying anything even stranger, Allen thanked him, said goodbye, and turned to leave.
Trying to impress others is a strange situation, but being flattered isn't always comfortable!
After making sure no one was following him, Allen quickly ran towards the Room of Requirement .
After successfully entering the Room of Requirement , Allen pulled out the Ravenclaw Tower model he had previously obtained .
This tower was actually a very useful stationary structure.
This can be a refuge in dangerous times.
For wizards , it can become a reliable refugewhen fleeing powerful enemies or facing major chaotic situations.
Since wizards oftencraft magical itemsresearchnew spells , or conduct other research, this tower can alsoserve as a laboratory capable of storing large quantities of materials .
This place was ideal for safekeeping Allen's valuable magic books, magical objects, or other treasures that he had acquired from other locations .
The cost of building such a magical structure was very high; this is probably why Rowena Ravenclaw built only a single tall tower instead of a castle .
Allen had his own plans for this tower .
Since a second war in the Wizarding World was inevitable, planning ahead was necessary to increase his family's power amidst the chaos.
He wanted to rationally plan the tower's rooms so that his most trusted family members and friends could enter it to save their lives in times of crisis and to increase their power in times of peace.
The tower's first floor contained a magnificent living room, bedrooms, a kitchen, and other standard rooms. These rooms could be used for the daily lives of Allen's friends and family.
The other floors and rooms were equipped with various types of magic , and these rooms possessed their own unique abilities.
Allen's task was to rationally plan and utilize his collection by placing it in these areas and categorizing it.
Allen's favorite library was located on the second floor by Ravenclaw . This area was very important; Ravenclaw's motto was: "Unmeasured intelligence is man's greatest treasure."
These magical books were the crystallized essence of wizards' wisdom throughout the ages .
In this area , where books of magic , guidebooks, andnotes on various spells were kept , bookshelves and storage compartments were neatly arranged along the walls.
Tables and chairs were placed inthe very center of the library to facilitate the wizards' studies.
The most useful aspect was that this library could provide pest control.
Small animals like moths and mice were a nightmare for books.
These tiny creatures could devour important books very quickly.
Special symbols painted on the library walls were intended to create a barrier specifically targeting these creatures, deterring pests such as moths and mice.
It was widely known that fires posed a major threat to the preservation of books.
A large fire can quickly reduce carefully collected books and materials to ashes.
This library can ensure the books are fireproof by allowing the books placed on the shelves to withstand a certain degree of flame.
Of course, this only applied to ordinary fire without magic ; it couldn't even withstand Incendio , let alone Dark Magic . The Devil's Fire Curse .
But as long as the book was inside the Library , this protection would always be valid; perhaps Madam Pince needed these magical runes too, Allen thought, gazing at the characters in a captivating way.
