Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1

" Slow down Finix " a voice shouted. Two boys ran through the forest under the midnight moon. Foggy clouds filled the forest, a rather unusual occurrence in the cold summer night. The sky was clear as the boys ran fast in and out of the thickets, jumping over the big roots and sliding under the leaves. The faster they ran, the more exciting it got. That was all until they both stopped to a sudden suprise.

" Hey, Ted, aren't we supposed to be at the roadside from here?" asked the one called Finix, walking and looking around in confusion.

" Finix, I-I don't feel right!" answered Ted, whose voice sounded faint and painful.

" Why what's u...." Finix asked, turning to a shocking scene. His eyes widened in fear, as though he had seen a ghost. His hands shook and his body became numb.

" Wha...what is happening to you Ted?...Why are you bleeding?...and what is that in your chest?", he asked in fear, his voice almost breaking. He then saw a giant figure that looked like a wild beast. It possessed fierce red hot eyes, a rough skin texture like that of a snake, sharp long teeth and long sharp ears. The creature had passed it's long sharp nails through Ted's chest, ripping it apart. It then raised it's large arm with Ted hanging on it and made a loud scream. The impact of the sound was so big that it sent Finix flying over into the grass. His eyes became blurry and his head hurt as though someone was slowly piercing pins into it. He held his head on the sides with his palms, trying to stay conscious and support himself on his knees. Slowly by slowly, he started regaining his strength. Once his eyes became a little bit clear, he supported himself onto his knees and was able to stand, but hardly balancing straight. While at a distance, he could see the creature tearing his friend's body apart, piece by piece. He could not believe what he was seeing, maybe it was just a dream. But no, the pain felt so real.

" This is not real! No...no...I know it's not real!" he said to himself, trying to regain his stamina. As he tried to make his first step, the beast made a jump towards him. This happened so fast that by the time he noticed, it was at his face, it's face near his. Out of fear, he remained still, looking at the fierce creature in the eye. It then raised it's large arm in attempt to rip him, just as it had done to Ted. A flash sparked from far behind him and in a blink of an eye, the creature's head and arm were off. It's blue blood splashed on his face and it's body heavily settled on him. He was now traumatised. It was a nightmare to him, the worst he had ever received in his life. He then saw an angelic figure in the moonlight, floating in mid air. It looked like a woman, dressed in a bright white robe, her hair was long and white as snow and her eyeballs, rainbow coloured. She descended and walked to him, then held out her hand to him.

" Become my apprentice and I wake you stronger!" she said, her voice tender as a melody.

" Are you from heaven? Have you come to take me to God?" he asked, desperately trying to free himself from the large weight on him.

" What's your name, young one?" she asked, bending towards his face. Her face was now so bright that he could hardly keep his eyes open.

" My name is Finix" he responded.

" But who are you?" he added, still trying to get free from the weight of the dead creature.

" I am Hela, the mother started" she replied, still bending towards his face .

" Okay Miss Hela...could you please help me here first...I can't breathe!" he requested, trying to control his breath with the struggle.

" It's done!"

" What's done?I..." he said, still struggling with the now invincible weight. He looked at his belly and chest, they were clean, no blood stain and no weight on him.

" How did...how did you do that?" he asked, slowly rising up to his feet. He could hardly believe that she lifted the weight off him without even moving a muscle. To make things even more weird, the body of the creature had disappeared.

" What happened to the creature's body just now?" he asked, trying to look at her face.

" It was nullified", she replied softly.

" What does that mean?" he asked curiously, she then walked past him and stood infront of him, facing the direction of the moon.

" Your realm is in grave danger young one"

she said, point at the moon and changing it's colour randomly. Finix watched what she was doing speechlessly. He did not understand anything that was going on.

" What do you mean?... where am I in the first place...what happened to my friend?" he asked, tears forming in his eyes.

" You're now in the timeless zone," she said, waving her hand in the sky and causing a tear to it. Here, Finix could see different kinds of objects that looked like planets and stars. He was amazed by what he saw before him.

" All this is real?" he asked, walking closer to Hela.

" Yes. This is a small fraction of what your realm holds."

" So what was that thing and where is it from?"

" That creature came from the celestial realm. Those acted as labour forces in the first earth, way back before your ancestors. They were all created by the supreme deities in order to keep and offer labour to the inhabitants of this planet." she said, swiping her hand over the moon again.

" They are so far regarded to be the second weakest components of the realms after the human beings."

" Okay, so what....what exactly happened to my friend? Is he dead?" he asked sadly. Hela swung her hand again and this time, a large portal appeared. Through it, he could see a dull world with walking figures that looked like wandering spirits. Far ahead, a gigantic tree with white leaves stood with large roots sticking out of the ground. This world had no main source of light except the stars. The tree's fruits produced some sort of dim energy as light. This made Finix excited as he could not believe that such things existed.

" This is the spiritual realm. It is where all the dead spirits go one their bodies are destroyed. Your friend's body was destroyed but his spirit remains wandering there" she explained, finally closing the portal. The light from her body suddenly dimmed and Finix was able to see her face clearly.

" It's been generations since I last showed my face to anyone!" she said softly.

" Generations? How old are you then Miss?" Finix asked curiously.

" As old as existence!" she answered softly, gently sitting on a stone and balancing herself on her knees with the elbows and palms on her chin.

" Sit down and cross your legs, put out your hands on both laps and close your eyes!" she commanded, looking at him in the eyes. Finix, without a word, did as she commanded. Hela looked at him closely for sometime while he kept his eyes closed.

" The star has five points. It's power is in the center. All five divine points of existence are driven by the helaflast. The multiverse shall calm unto you and you will have to answer. You will move all the realms and lift all the souls. Your name will a threat to many but a center of hope to all. Do not change your heart, for that might be the end of all!" she said, forming a bright circular barrier around him. She then looked at him for a while, then snapped her fingers twice. A multi-coloured bright circular barrier rose from the ground around him and shot up into the sky. Finix on the other hand, stayed still.

" All the five points of existence respond to the helaflast. The head, my two arms and legs, all function form one point. Slow down the breathing, clear the mind. Try to be aware of everything happening around, lose every sense and release the spirit." he spoke softly. As soon as he did this, a light wave was released from where he was seated and it spread throughout the fields. This caused the ground to shake and a strong wind blew around him but in circular form. Flowers suddenly started blooming around him and in the entire grass fields. Hela watched all what was happening and finally smiled

" You are no ordinary child... it's written all over your face. Nature has accepted you Finix.....the realms now have a protector. Using human basic knowledge to acquire divine understanding at your age....this will be for all generations to praise!" she exclaimed, gently touching her chest. A bright golden star shaped petal came from within her, which made her skin turn white as her hair immediately. As this happened, blue mist suddenly covered the air and a bright blue figure appeared from her left, just a small distance from where Finix was.

" Orlan....you finally found me." she said, slowly standing up and walking towards the figure.

" I felt the power of the helaflast, so I came here. So why in places did you decide to roam from here?" the figure answered. It's eyes shone yellow and it carried a bow on it's back with a golden scroll in it's right arm.

" The divine scroll," she said, looking at the scroll in it's hand. " The supreme deities summon me?" she asked.

" Yes. They demand that you present yourself for the final arch the realms." it answered.

" You want me to release all the realms to each other? That will cause imbalance. The laws of existence were set, even the gods know that!"

" Hela...all the realms have already been released!" it exclaimed, coming closer to her., through the mist. It had not yet noticed Finix because he had been covered by Hela's barrier.

" You designed the realms but the deities gave them form. You're one of the strongest divine components Hela! But you're nothing compared to them combined. They plan on having a new existence with only one perfect big realm. Wouldn't you want to see something of that sort?" it asked, swapping the scroll to it's left arm.

" Releasing the realms will only cause imbalance. The stronger ones will devour the weaker ones, degrading their own dignity as superiors. Besides, you gods have been worshipped by this very realm you're standing on for generations. The human race gave you status and now you want to turn against them. The goddess of nature rests here herself...I can't go against her will. She's my sworn sister!"

" Is that so? Then you leave me with no choice Hela! Am sorry I have to do this!" it answered raising it's hand and crafting a divine cube with which it pointed at Hela. The cube immediately started sucking Hela's energy and spirit from her physical body. With the process, the moon suddenly exploded and the stars in the sky started fading. Darkness filled the whole earth for a while as Hela's spirit got sucked into the cube. However, she did not resist but then looked at Finix, who was still in the state.

" The Helaflast is with you young one..don't let it down!" she said this softly then closed her eyes and finally released her spirit to the cube completely. Once Orlan had sucked Hela's spirit into the cube, he kept it away and turned to leave but as he did, he noticed a boy seated in a meditating position. His body shone different colours, and he looked to be unconscious. As he came closer to look, he saw a golden five point star on his forehead.

" This boy....why does he have Hela's mark on his forehead? Could it be..." he immediately drew his bow from the back, formed a blue frost arrow and got ready to shoot at the unconscious boy infront of him. Before he could do so, a large flaming bird with long tail and wing feathers blew flames at him. He shielded himself with a barrier but

the impact sent him off his feet to a distance away. The bird then stood behind Finix, enlarged its big wings and covered him up, to the point that Orlan could no longer see him. It's body shone very bright, too bright that even Orlan could not keep his eyes straight open. The brightness persisted for a while then it went down. When he opened his eyes, the bird was nowhere insight, so was the boy.

" You couldn't just leave the realms unprotected.....hope you made the right choice though!" he said, smiling at the cube. He saw Hela's pale body lying on the ground. It had not been nullified. He then carried the body and kept it in a cave, on top of the mountain. He blew ice on it and covered the cave entrance with living plants. Through the forest he spread different wild beasts and celestial creatures to guard the cave and finally at the foot of the mountain, he raised a large barrier that spread around the mountain. Since it was a celestial veil, all the natural living components inside it died except the ones he had created himself. After he was done, a large portal opened before him. Through it stood different celestial bodies on different levels. The ground on which they stood contained clouds with lightning sparks. They were divine, all dressed in snow white linen robes and their faces shone bright as the sun. Above the celestials, seven unique looking beings sat on thrones made of gold. Not even Orlan had seen their faces, because they sat high above the levels. He then stepped into the portal and knelt before the celestials and took out the divine cube, his face downwards. He lifted it to them and said," I Orlan, present the spirit of Hela, the mother star!"

" And where is her body?" a loud voice asked.

" Her body was nullified. She destroyed it herself !" he answered. The celestials murmured to themselves then another spoke, " In the celestial realm, no one is compared to the mother star. The power of the Helaflast is the center of all existence now. To recognise the celestial realm among the other realms, that power is needed!"

" I understand that!" Orlan answered, but without raising his head and still on his knees.

" You have lost it!" a voice shouted.

" It's useless anyway, we'll have to do this ourselves. Orlan release all the realms to each other using the power orb before you!" another celestial commanded. Orlan thought for a while and recalled all that Hela had told him. " I'll have to look for that boy immediately!" he thought to himself, then released the cube to them. He then joined his palms and rose to his feet, closing his eyes.

" From the heavens, unto the realms. All beings shall assemble in the presence the supreme beings. By the power of Hela and by the divine orb, all realms open!" he shouted.
