Chapter 341: The Unclean Nun (Part 7)
As soon as his voice fell, the surroundings fell into silence.
Father Burke, Gail, and the others wore peculiar expressions, their gazes darting back and forth between William and the demon.
In their entire exorcism careers, this was the first time any of them had seen someone scold a demon like an incompetent subordinate.
"WHAT! DID! YOU! SAY!"
Opposite him, Valak revealed a ferocious visage.
"Is there a problem with what I said?" William sneered.
"You clearly control the entire abbey, yet you can't even get your hands on a single holy relic inside."
"If you want to claim you have no way to touch the Holy Blood directly, that only highlights your stupidity even more. After all, there used to be many living people in the abbey."
"The reason you couldn't bewitch the nuns is that your methods are monotonous and inefficient. And now, due to a mistake, you actually exposed the incidents at the abbey and drew the Church here."
William pointed a finger directly at it.
"Under these circumstances, you still have the audacity to mock others as failures. Hmph! Instead of wasting time here, you should be reflecting on your own mistakes. Otherwise..."
"A third-rate piece of trash like you succeeding would be Hell's biggest joke."
Hearing these sharp words, the several people present couldn't help but start reflecting inwardly on whether they had made mistakes in their own past work.
Bang!
At the same time, the surrounding clutter suddenly crashed into the walls all at once.
"Damn human!" Valak's body heaved violently.
Having wandered through Hell and the human world for so many years, this was the first time it had suffered such humiliation.
"I will flay your skin, drain your blood, and torture your soul for eternity!" it roared.
But William merely added one sentence, causing the other party to completely lose its mind.
"Incompetent rage."
Valak suddenly dislocated its jaw to an exaggerated angle, erupting with a piercing shriek.
The white-cloth-covered corpses standing aside also sprinted toward the group together, and the outermost magic array was quickly swarmed with monsters.
Immediately after, everyone present heard the horrific sound of chewing.
Father Burke narrowed his eyes: "These demonic creatures are devouring the array's energy. Fortunately, the holy power of the array is extremely strong; they won't be able to break in for a short time."
But William frowned: "In just this brief moment, a thousandth of the energy has already been depleted. The situation is very critical."
Father Burke was instantly left speechless.
He looked at the five-layered magic array before him; the energy contained within it was still gradually strengthening from the outside in.
Although he agreed with taking precautions for the future, given the current situation, holding out for a dozen days wouldn't be a problem. It hardly seemed to have reached the level of a "critical situation," right!
However, outwardly, he still offered, "I have a bottle of seven-year vintage Holy Water. It can buy us a little time."
William waved his hand: "No need for all that trouble."
He then cupped his hands around his mouth and shouted loudly: "Sisters, time to come out and work!"
A rustling sound quickly echoed through the cellar.
Outside the magic array.
Valak narrowed its eyes, sensing something approaching.
Shortly after, many skeletons with pristine white bones suddenly appeared from all directions in the cellar.
Once they entered the hall, they charged toward the magic array, grappling with the white-cloth-covered corpses.
"Hmph, meaningless petty tricks!" Valak snorted coldly, throwing out a new phrase it had just learned.
It had just raised its hand when it stumbled forward the next second.
Behind it, a skeleton had approached at some unknown point, currently wielding a detached leg bone in its hand like a club.
After completing the sneak attack, this skeleton hopped on one leg while hastily reattaching its leg bone, and then also charged toward the magic array.
"Bitch!"
Valak finally couldn't help but curse out loud.
It abruptly stood up, only to find that a gap had appeared in the line of Demon God soldiers surrounding the magic array, and that damn human was staring right at it.
A bright red energy sphere floated at William's fingertips. The next second, he threw the sphere out through the gap.
In the blink of an eye, the energy sphere appeared in front of Valak and sank directly into its body.
The demon immediately revealed an expression of agonizing pain.
"The Sin of Emotion... hmph, to think a human could actually master this kind of power."
When Valak spoke the first half of the sentence, it whimpered softly, but the second half was a loud roar, making it sound extremely bizarre.
But William did not let his guard down. After all, judging from what the other party said, this guy in front of him was still maintaining its sanity.
"You also... underestimate a Demon God far too much." Valak burst into loud laughter at this moment.
"Unless it is willing, it's impossible for any human to exert emotional influence on a Demon God."
"And these 'little emotions' you're playing with are like rainwater to me; a gentle wipe is all it takes to eliminate them."
"Is that so," William's tone was devoid of joy or sorrow.
"But at least in this moment, the emotion on you truly exists."
As soon as his voice fell, auras of various colors suddenly manifested around Valak, with a dense gray being the most prominent.
The next second, this gray aura gradually condensed into a spiritual chain, tightly binding the Demon God.
Father Burke happened to witness this scene.
As a Holy Clergy Member with a dominant Soul Body stage, he naturally recognized this as the third-level Holy Art of that path: [Envoy of Sin].
And previously, he had already seen this gentleman use Holy Arts from two other paths.
Doesn't this mean...
"He actually possesses three Brands!" Father Burke was incredibly shocked.
A Holy Clergy Member with such talent could only come from the Vatican, destined to become a pillar of the Church in the future.
"To think I am able to cooperate with a powerhouse like this..."
Just as his thoughts were running wild, William turned his head.
"Everyone, I won't be able to control it for too long. It's going to get much more dangerous here, so you should all evacuate first. Of course, absolutely do not split up along the way..."
Saying this, he pointed behind them, where a skeleton was already waiting to guide them.
Since the location of the Source Power passage had already been found, keeping these people around would only make them a burden. Furthermore... what he was about to do couldn't be seen by others.
At the same time, the demonic creatures outside the magic array had already been lured away by the skeletons.
Gail immediately nodded upon hearing this: "Be careful."
"You... really don't need our help?" Frenchie asked uncertainly.
"Staying will only make us a liability," Mark said, slinging an arm around the Frenchman's neck.
Irene's gaze was full of worry; she drew a cross on her chest before turning to leave.
Father Burke also lowered his head and bowed respectfully.
Very quickly, William was the only one left in the cellar.
"Hmph, those people can't escape..."
Valak had just opened its mouth when it was interrupted.
"Skip the meaningless chatter. Tell me the method to open the Source Power passage," William demanded.
"What?" Valak's gaze was filled with alarm and suspicion.
"You can play dumb if you think you have plenty of time," William said, as several bright red energy spheres appeared at his fingertips once more.
"Or... we can cooperate, and then I'll let you go free."
Valak's eyes flickered: "Do you really understand what the Source Power passage is?"
"Does it matter?"
"Hmph, if the passage is opened, the Demon God's army can descend upon the human world." Valak narrowed its eyes. "As a human, this is naked betrayal."
"Betrayal, huh... Heh," William chuckled lightly, offering no explanation.
This actually made Valak even more confused.
The human before it suddenly bringing up this condition was simply too bizarre.
Even though it was already preparing for this very thing itself.
But having witnessed this human's actions just now, Valak didn't believe the other party would be so stupid. Thus, there might be some kind of trap involved.
"Oh? A Demon God is actually feeling fear toward a human," William smiled faintly.
"Don't be too arrogant," Valak gritted its teeth.
"See, this is why you are just a third-rate Demon God," William spread his hands.
"Knowing full well this matter benefits you, yet hesitating solely due to the cowardice in your heart. How can you accomplish anything like this?"
"If those guys ranked lower than you knew they had such a cowardly Demon God above them, they would probably tear Hell apart in anger."
Valak's face turned dark: "You are courting death yourself."
William shrugged: "If I ever have the misfortune of going to Hell, I'll definitely kick you off your position as a Demon God."
Valak didn't want to endure any more insults from a human and immediately spoke: "Since that's the case, release me."
William looked at it weirdly: "My condition just now was that you tell me the method to open it, and then I let you go free. Don't get it backward."
"You..." Valak took a deep breath. "Very well."
Subsequently, it looked to the side. A brick fell from one of the walls, revealing a hidden compartment behind it.
"The thing you want is right there. I presume you don't need me to personally deliver it?" it said, glancing at the chains on its body.
William remained expressionless, and then a skeleton proactively walked toward the hidden compartment.
Seeing this, Valak merely snorted coldly.
Shortly after.
William squatted inside the magic array, while the skeleton outside was holding up a piece of parchment.
"So that's how it is," he said, rubbing his chin.
