Chapter 17 - A New Member

(AN: sorry I had and was recovering from stomach flu)

(AN 2: *crying* this was a deep pain to wrap my mind around, the sheer amount of times I had to rewrite the chapter and reinvent the personality of Eve(mostly to be revealed)…my god lol :v )

After the whole fiasco over the newly arrival's burning hair, it almost immediately came to mind that she was not in any sort of pain.

If anything she stared at everyone around her with wide, bewildered eyes, startled with how everybody else around her was acting.

So after another, thorough analysis and diagnosis with nothing…particularly wrong with her, other than the supposedly absurd amount of fire affinity.

"A-As we were saying," Sera was trying to get back on track with a twitchy smile as she put a hand on the girl's shoulder, seemingly unbothered by the flames millimeters away.

"This one's name…is Eve," she finished, said woman was currently looking up at the abnormally tall angel, "We have taken consideration on your words on compatibility and have researched thoroughly to give you as perfect of a partner as we could,"

…what. Adam couldn't help but blank at those words spoken before Sera turned to Samael.

"Brother, keep up the good work…please continue to do so," she nodded to which the angel returned it awkwardly with just as awakward of a smile.

"O-of course Sister…I will aim to do so,"

Have spent what Adam assumed was far longer of a time than they attended, the angels upon this realization were quick to leave after a short panic on the scheduling.

The four of us, Adam, Lilith, Samael, and Eve, watched watched of the other angels teleported away in a hurry and were left on the field.

Ding! Got remarried…hopefully this one lasts! Get a Silver Ticket!

Cool, range booster, moving on.

Adam walked up to Eve, who was still observing where the angels were a minute ago with a curious gaze before she turned to him.

"As I was saying…welcome Eve, I am Adam, and this is the Garden of Eden," motioning over to the gorgeous view before us that observed the fields, the mountains, and the forests.

Lilith came into view with a smile, "I am called Lilith, I welcome you to the Garden," though she was welcoming, Adam could tell there was a sense of…doubt? Or perhaps concern.

Samael, the shortest one in the metaphorical room popped up with a bright, wide smile, "Hello! I'm Samael! One of the angelic buddies you can come to for help if you need anything! You know these two?" He nudges her with an elbow while whispering to Eve as he pointed to the humans, "they. are. a. mess, I mean what would they do without me? Running around with worry, relying ole Sammy for everything,".

Eve blinked innocently as she tilted her head at the shorter angel, "Really?" The angel nodded with a wide smile under the attention of the newborn.

All the while the two older humans gave him the old dead eyed stare as they deadpanned at him as they glanced at each other, and nodded, they were going to pay him back for that.

Adam placed a hand on her shoulder, as Eve looked up at him, "Come, the day is still young, we can show you the best of places that we roam about," Eve nodded slightly twice, a small blush on her expression on top of a soft smile as they began the tour.

Showing her the fishing spot by the river, the flower field, the art cave Adam carved out, and even the cabin in the woods…that would need to be expanded on Adam realized.

Eve herself was very quiet, softly smiling, content to listen to the small stories as she was being pulled around and spoken to.

Adam was worried that based on the words of the angels that she would end up as some weird clone of Samael.

But unlike the angel who could not sit still and loved to be heard, Eve was a lot more calm and collected, she was more than satisfied to listen to everyone around her had to say.

The only time she deviated from this behavior on our tour was when we came across an animal, especially with a offspring.

"Oh my goodness look at those big eyes!"

"Right??? Though the fur could have used a better color palette than what was used, I love the pattern when they are babies!"

Both Eve and Samael were currently fawning over a…well literal fawn, an offspring of a deer that was laying down nearby, gazing at the two humanoid starry-eyed petting the baby.

Adam and Lilith were once again were left watching their significant other in sync being overly affectionate with a mammal.

Though they felt amusement, more than happy to leave the two giving a fur baby all the attention it was gladly receiving.

"…So she is my replacement?" Lilith asked softly, though Adam heard her regardless as he glanced at her, who had a blank look to her.

Adam smirked, a exasperated sigh from his mouth as he amusedly asked, "If I was the one that formed a bond with Samael, and you would have recieved a new husband, would he have been my replacement?"

Her face scrunched up, "that… doesn't…it doesn't feel the same," she tried to find the words.

She gestured at the bubbly blondes, "other than this, Eve was a lot more…subdued," she voiced her concern no doubt already have formed her opinion, "I can't help but form my own thoughts on it,"

Adam raised on eyebrow, "Your worried her nature was the direct result of your open questioning," it wasn't a question, it was a statement that he arrived at.

"Am I wrong? I openly defy them, came to seperate from you for Samael, and they simply make another one that is more subservient,"

One thing Adam has learned is that for all the wits and intelligents Lilith has on her, she could be awfully presumptuous.

Calmly placing a comforting hand on her shoulder, "Calm yourself…it is but the first day, you have barely given Eve the chance to actually figure out who she is, nevermind the fact we can't be sure she would remain that way tomorrow, or the day after,"

"As for the compliant nature you noted…I will admit it probably had something to do with you, partially at least," Lilith gritted her teeth, clenching her fist on her arm, but he continued, "But it probably had more to do with your interactions with Samael,"

That immediately put to the stop on her current thought process, "Huh?" Was the only thing she could sound off as she looked at him.

Adam humorously smiled, "You have a problem with Eve's nature to be quiet and willingness to go along with what the others say…you may need to take a long look over how Samael treats you and how you respond…as the current only successful couple the angels had to draw inspirations from~"

That seemed to blue screen Lilith as she stood there stunned, "Huh?!" Having a hard time wrapping her mind around the fact that the angels may have took inspiration and were not merely "problem solving".

"…Come, it seems the two are done gushing over the offspring, we should move on before the night falls over us,"

(AN: this was merely the introduction, the integration of Eve to the group, hopefully the next chapter will be better bonding than what I wrote now)
