Chapter 1 - Well… Fuck!

Here we gooooooo!

XXX

I was floating in a void, waiting for something, but for some reason I couldn't remember what it was. The darkness was warm and comfy, and there was a point I never wanted to leave.

Then I saw a strange light, everything was harsh and cold and I couldn't make sense of anything. Then there was pain and someone was screaming. I was screaming. No I was crying I felt weak and I didn't know what to do.

For what felt like years I fell in and out of consciousness. Occasionally something warm entered my mouth and fed me.

One day though I woke up long enough to actually figure out what the hell was going on.

XXX

Hi, my name is… ummm… actually I'm not entirely sure as I'm currently a baby and my mother doesn't speak much English.

Not that she can't I've heard her speak it but I'm fairly certain it's not her first language.

Luckily for me, I've watched enough anime in my last two lives combined to understand that she's speaking Japanese even if I don't really know what she's actually saying.

It's been a little disconcerting actually considering I was very black in my last life. Luckily or unluckily for me, my skin is still dark if not a bit of a lighter shade so I'm pretty sure my black card is still intact.

On one hand, I can probably still say the N word on the other hand well there's a fucking laundry list of downsides but hey it is what it is.

Anyway, back to my mom she's a very nice lady, and more than that she probably has superpowers or something because she has long ass metal clowns sometimes.

She's like, weirdly casual about it but also I'm kinda sure she's a villain. She wasn't always around. Lots of nights she leaps out the window in this crazy ass ninja outfit. Other times she looks at me like she's super sad and cries when she holds me.

I try to comfort her when that happens but when your entire vocabulary is roughly restricted to to goo goo and Ga Ga it's not very easy.

Fortunately for me, she's been showering me with as much affection as a baby could ask for. On the other hand today she seems particularly sad which seems to have something to do with the fact that she's taking me outside for the very first time today.

It was rather cloudy outside and it wasn't long before it started raining. I was crying from the cold soaking through my swaddle. I didn't have much control over my body as a baby so that was rather involuntary.

More than that what concerned me more was that my mother was also crying and shaking. It obviously wasn't the cold but I couldn't get a solid look at where she had taken me.

Eventually, we reached an overhang where she set me down on the floor and knelt next to me. It was only then that I realized what was happening.

She cried harder her tears dripping down onto my face. She grew closer tilting my head up and kissing my forehead. I took off a necklace dangling from her rain-soaked body and placed it around my neck alongside a few papers.

I couldn't help but cry even harder as she stood up straight wiping away a few tears as she stared at me. I struggled against my damned cloth prison trying to reach for her. I couldn't control my emotions couldn't control my sorrow at what was coming and my need for her to stay.

We had only been together for a few months but it had already done a number on me. From her nursing me, changing me, calming me down during storms or after nightmares, and even playing with me when she had time.

Sure she would never replace my last life's mother in my heart but I'd be lying if I didn't say I cared about her.

But she was abandoning me on the steps of what I could only assume was this city's orphanage.

She stood up stared down at me and said a few final words in Japanese before walking away. Then a bright and sunny announcement-like voice entered my ears.

[New Achievement! Orphaned!]

[Congradulations! You have been abandoned by your own mother! Watch out I hear a certain billionaire in your area is on the lookout for little orphan boys! Reward: Random Gold Gatcha Ticket! (x1)]

Oh and did I forget to mention the system?

Yeah so basically I have this chaos gatcha system right? And whenever something super cool happens I get a ticket or whatever.

I can activate and deactivate them at will and I can also check them and stuff or whatever. I started with three tickets one bronze, one silver, and one gold he had already used.

But none of that felt like it mattered now not the new ticket not the old tickets nothing except that asian woman walking away from me in the rain after ringing the doorbell.

Memories played in my head of the time we spent together. Sometimes she would sing to me and rock me when I was scared and she would play with me when the days grew long and boring and I felt like I was going insane.

In this whole life, it had just been her and me. I had no idea who my father was, or what happened to him, or if he even knew I existed. Did he even care at all? I had no idea and I'll probably never know but that doesn't truly matter I suppose.

As my thoughts wandered a new object notification caught my vision.

[New Achievement! True beginning!]

[Congradulations you have gained your first ticket outside of your starting amount! You have unlocked a new system feature! Status window!]

The new simulation quickly distracted me from my sorrow. I thought the word and soon a new screen pulled up in front of me.

[Status Window]

[Name: Kairo Oyama]

[Age: 5 months old]

[Current Tickets]

[Gold Tickets]

[Bloom]

Rare Ability

[You are a chlorokinetic, allowing you to create, communicate with, and control plants in your sensory range. You can make branches crawl out of the ground and snare your enemies, make trees break through the concrete, create and grow plant life on fertile soil, manipulate vines as whips, or simply grow an apple tree to get a ripe apple.]

[Silver Tickets]

[Super Crown - Mario]

Uncommon Item

[A magical crown that turns whoever wears it into a pretty girl.]

[Bronze Tickets]

[Hawk Eyes]

Uncommon Ability

[You have very powerful eyes that can see even hundreds of kilometers away with accuracy.]

Blinking away my salty tears I studied the window thoroughly.

'Kairo huh? Not bad but it could be better.'

I let out the baby equivalent of a sigh trying not to think of what just happened only for the big doors behind me to open. I do my best to tilt my head back and I lock eyes with a kind-looking older woman with grey hair and brown eyes.

She sighs, then bends down picking me up gently, and stands back up with a pop in he knees and back. She straightens up with a curse and turns to walk me into the building.

"Damned young people if you don't want to raise the damned baby stop having kids. Irresponsible idiots all of them I swear!" She grumbles starting to unravel my wet swaddle.

I giggle at that only just now realizing just how cold I really am.

She looks down at me removing the wet blanket and taking the papers from inside.

"Well that's a new one… someone finally did the proper fucking paperwork." She grumbles and I giggle again.

'This old lady has quite the potty mouth doesn't she?'

She glances down at me a warm smile covering her face.

"You poor little thing… so innocent… this damned city is going to chew you up and spit you out." She says sighing as we move further into the building.

But I'm not looking at her anymore; instead, I'm looking behind her at a label just above the door. It reads a simple yet terrible three words.

GOTHAM CITY ORPHANAGE

Just as I read the sign another notification popped up.

[The system has recognized that the host is currently an infant! The system has decided that it shall remain dormant until the host is properly able to use its capabilities! The host will still be able to use the current tickets and rolls in their possession! Good luck and have fun!]

'Well… Fuck!'

[Gotham City]

[5 years later]

[third-person POV]

XXX

A small dark-skinned boy with pale white hair and pure white eyes stared out the window of a school bus as it approached its next stop.

The boy stepped out and was quickly followed by a few others as he stared up at the cloudy sky for a few moments.

"Another day another disappointment." the boy sighed lowering his gaze slightly to see a rather large welcome sign above a gate. He stepped through ignoring the creak of the gate.

'Still no new tickets.' The boy frowned kicking a rock around as he walked towards the orphanage's front gate. He walked forward completely ignoring most of the other children as he slowly made his way inside.

The orphanage was noisy and full of life as children of all ages ran nearly rampant. One group of kids roughly five to eight ran in ahead and started playing.

Some ten kids roughly ten to thirteen years old stood around in a circle as one of them stood atop a table talking about his future grand schemes.

Meanwhile, a few of the older teens who had already made it home for the day chatted in the hallways while some of them swept and mopped as punishment for their bad behavior. Their last group activity, a small gambling ring had been

It had been five years since Kairo had ended up in this orphanage and it had also been about the same amount of time since he managed to get any new tickets.

It wasn't that life was boring, rather it was more like his life specifically was just boring so far.

Luckily for him, life in the orphanage was comparatively safer these days than it was in the past. The building wasn't the run-down overpopulated dump it had been when Kairo arrived. Instead, the Wayne Foundation had found it in their hearts and their investors' pockets through a few little galas and funders to give the poor little orphans of Gotham City a nice place to live.

Curticy of Bruce Wayne of course. Still, the prince of Gotham's generosity hadn't prevented it from getting nearly burned down by the Joker before the building's little makeover.

Not that Kairo disliked the billionaire playboy of course, after all because of him Kairo was one of the lucky few in the orphanage to get his own room.

Speaking of which he closed the door behind him and set his bag down on a simple white blanket atop his bed. He patted the bag twice and it swiftly vomited up multiple books, papers, and school supplies in a neat and orderly pile as it shifted form into a small black cat with white paws.

The "book bag." was actually no book bag at all but rather the last roll Kai had gotten from his new golden ticket before entering the orphanage for the first time.

[Mimic]

Uncommon Familiar

#A curious shapeshifting bloodthirsty creature, the Mimic can turn into the shape of any creature or object as well as being able to manipulate its texture and density. Being able to turn into a chest, or a woman with a large chest, or maybe even a mount. They also get larger and stronger the more you feed them flesh, especially human flesh, they may even get smarter if you feed them brains.

The mimic Nic named Mimi slipped off the bed landing right next to the actual book bag whose form it copied every morning before Kai went to school.

"Hey, I'm back." He called out to the seemingly empty room. His pale white eyes flashed green as he activated his Bloom ability. Speaking to a small potted sunflower on his windowsill.

He stepped over to it, grabbed a nearby pre-prepared water bottle, and gave the flower just enough water to satisfy it without drowning the plant.

"Yeah yeah I know I'm late but there was traffic and the bus driver couldn't get through." Putting the bottle off to the side Kai leaned against the wall staring at the sunflower. The flower tilted slightly from the weight of the water.

"No I can't do that." Kai sighed shaking his head with a scoff at the plants sugestion. Noticing a slight pressure against his leg Kai looked down to see Mimi nuzzling up against him. He picked up the tiny mimic heading back over to his bed.

Setting Mimi down Kai looked back over his shoulder at the sunflower. "You're one sick fuck sometimes you know that?"

A slight breeze filled the room as Kai rolled his glowing green eyes. He sat atop his bed ignoring its mildly concerning creaking and he began pulling his homework from out of the pile.

It was only kindergarten-level work so he breezed through it rather quickly while talking to his sunflower friend.

"Well, I suppose you're right… Fine, well try it your way for once." The flower had brought up a rather good point. It had been five years since Kai had gotten a ticket and the last thing he should be doing is writing off more extreme methods of breaking his dry spell.

Meanwhile, Mimi had started caterwauling louder and louder in his lap.

"Yes yes dear I'll take you out hunting later tonight." Kai hummed petting the fake cat behind the ear. The tiny Mimic smiled contentedly at her master's promise.

After a few minutes, Kai finished his homework stood up with Mimi in his arms, and started heading out.

"We'll be back later tonight Flowy don't worry." Kai waved to the small potted plants and walked out the door. Mentally communicating with Mimi she swiftly shifted into the form of a satchel. Walking through the lounge he glanced over at the community TV.

The orphanage matron sat sprawled out clicking from channel to channel. The kind older woman who had brought Kairo into the orphanage and nursed him back to health while he was sick had aged rather well.

He didn't actually know how old she was but she already had grey hair when they first met. 5 years later she seemed roughly the same besides a few more lines on her face.

Wrinkles aside the matron was somewhat tall for a woman and could curse like a well fucked sailor when she really wanted to. Not to mention she was low-key still thick despite her age.

She ignored the noise around her and flicked from channel to channel trying to find something to watch.

"Superman has once again saved the day in Metropolis. Leaving us all wondering who exactly is this mysterious man of steel?" A random news anchor from the Daily Planet said as footage of the big blue boy scout played in the background.

CLICK

"There are more and more vigilantes appearing in America these days. Tell me Mr Mayor, how exactly-" A bunch of random new stations questioned the city mayor during a press release.

CLICK

"Scientists say that the number of humans with quirks overseas has risen to roughly 80% meanwhile they remain relatively rare here in-" Another news channel went over the growing population of genetically mutated people which just so happened to have the happy side effect of allowing Kai's unique looks to not be considered so strange.

Sure in America having a quirk wasn't so common but there were mutants and meta-humans as well, so although he looked a little strange the most he got was a couple of stares before people moved on. Besides living in Gotham being a mutant was much more of an advantage than a disadvantage.

CLICK

"Trust Vaught's new special mango blast-" Some random ad from that one super fucked up superhero company that made fake Supes or whatever. The only reason he paid any attention to them was that they had once discussed Soldier Boy in history class. Even then instead of doing anything cool all they do is sell bullshit products. They even have their own rip-off Superman now.

Besides they're only relevant because they're technically the first official hero Agency in the west. The only reason is the whole helping in World War 2 thing and even then most of the West is still a little iffy about superheroes.

CLICK

"And another thrilling victory for the new hero Omniman alongside the Guardians of the Globe. These government-sponsored heroes have been working very closely with each other lately leaving many wondering if Omniman is going to join the T-"

CLICK

"That about wraps up the latest sighting of our local bat-themed vigilante! In other news billionaire, Playboy, inventor, Tony Stark was spotted this week with a hot new date at Bruce Wayne's latest fundraiser, well have more for you at eleven."

CLICK

"Sigh nothing good on TV these days." The older woman sighed as she finally turned off the TV. In front of her two random toddlers played with blocks as she watched over them.

Meanwhile, Kairo walked up behind her loud enough for her to know he was there so he didn't surprise her.

"Oi ma! I'm heading out for a while I'll be back by tonight."

She waved over her shoulder as he ran out the door. As soon as she heard the door click she looked over her shoulder and whispered "Please be careful."

A little while later Kairo was out on the streets attempting to find some proper prey for Mimi. Normally he'd just feed her small animals or something so it's not much of an issue. Today however he was looking to feed her something a little bigger than usual.

Kairo had been lucky enough to never need to kill anyone just yet but that didn't mean he wouldn't. After realising the true level of danger of being in a world like this one he knew he would probably have to kill someone eventually.

So today the two of them were hunting for humans. More particularly Kairo was hoping to find an already corpse.

As a result, Kai decided to go to the shitiest part of the city he could find. It just so happens that he was also born there.

And so Kairo walked into the one and only Crime Ally.

Kairo never bothered to figure out what gang's turf it actually was or who really ran the block. What really mattered was that it was Batman Territory and the Dark Knight seemed to get particularly violent in this area for some reason.

Luckily for Kai, the Dark Knight rarely comes out during the day, and as a result, Kai is free to hunt for as many dead bodies as he likes for Mimi to eat.

Still, even though it's daytime it's rather dark out thanks to all the smog and cloud cover. Not to mention what will most likely soon become rain. It is Gotham after all and it's also a wonder that Metropolis never gets this kind of bad weather.

Either way, Kairo had been running the streets for about an hour now with absolutely no fucking luck.

"Geez it s fucking crime capital of America you would think more people would be eager to attack a VERY HELPLESS! AND VERY HANDSOME YOUNG BOY!" He yelled turning another corner only to see a few regular homeless people crowded around a small dumpster fire playing music from an old boombox and staring at him like he was the crazy one.

"What? Never seen a mutant before?" He frowned at their eyes glowing green. They looked away terrified of the small boy and smart enough to mind their own business if they wanted to make it in Gotham.

Kai scoffed and kept pushing making his way through cramped, narrow alleyways and abandoned districts all to find Jack shit.

Eventually, he got frustrated and smacked the nearest brick wall only to hiss in pain and pull his hand back suddenly causing him to stumble back slightly, trip over a rock, and land in a nearby patch of dying grass.

Landing with an oof and an ow Kai groaned as he sat up on his elbows frowning. Suddenly, Mimi morphed off his chest transforming into a cat once more only this time she talked, or rather she tried to but cats aren't really built for that so it came out kind of weird.

"Meowster okay?" She questioned innocently rubbing her face against his cheek.

"Yeah Mimi, I'm just frustrated that's all." He said petting the adorable mimic under the chin.

"Meowster find food for Mimi nyah?" The mimic questioned as Kai lifted her gently into his lap.

"Yep well keep looking until we find a nice juicy corpse for you Mimi. I just don't know where to find one." Patting the small black cat on his head Kai popped up to his feet with enthusiasm and started walking through the alleyway again.

Then with an incredibly focused look on her face, the tiny cat frowned followed by a small gasp and widening her little eyes.

"Meowster ask plants nyah?" Mimi cheered as a light bulb turned on in her small head and Kai froze in the spot.

He stood there for a moment contemplating how it was possible that he hadn't thought of that for over an hour. Ominous silence filled the narrow alleyways of Gotham as a single voice rang out.

"Well… Fuck!"

Hey guys I've been playing around with Bronz Decks Chaos Gatcha lately since I saw it on another fic that got popular. Since I've been having some serious writer's block on some of my other stories as well I thought I would work on this to try and help me out of it.

Turns out you can actually customize the lists yourself which is actually a kinda complicated process. But I've been adding a few of my own entries since I felt like some of the verses had far too limited options like Fate and Devil May Cry.

Anyway, y'all don't know the temptation of rigging the rolls but so far I've managed to resist that.

So let me know what you guys think of this new fic and what questions and suggestions you all have for me.
