Chapter 32 - Mud Wasps

Orcs truly live up to their name; they are incredibly tough and resilient.

One of them had his neck cut in half, yet he was still breathing heavily.

But what caught his eye the most was the large, swollen bump on the other person's face, which looked like a peach.

Lear asked curiously.

What's with all those big bags on you?

The two corrupt orcs who were glaring at him with resentment, who had intended to remain silent, suddenly turned bloodshot upon hearing these words.

"Those damned mud wasps!"

The orc, whose neck had been severed in half, spoke in a hoarse voice.

"A queen wasp has been born from the mud swamp wasp! Humans, do you know the role of the mud swamp wasp queen?"

"Eating the queen bee will enhance your potential and activate your hero talent!!"

"Our people were killed by those damned insects while we were hunting the queen bee."

He spoke with a hint of smugness, pointing behind him.

"Want to activate your talents? Go find the Mud Wasps, it's about a half-hour walk in that direction."

He chuckled incoherently, then his body stiffened, and he died with his eyes wide open.

The remaining corrupt orc, upon hearing this, seemed to understand his companion's thoughts and looked at Lear with a series of cold laughs.

"That's right, the queen of the mud swarm wasp is a treasure that everyone desires. Go find the mud swarm wasp!"

There were three hundred of them, and now only a few dozen are left!

If it weren't for the special method found earlier to disperse the bee swarm, they would have been wiped out long ago.

They didn't believe that greedy humans could resist such temptation. If they dared to go, they would inevitably face even more frenzied retaliation from those already enraged mud wasps!

The intention was obvious at a glance. Lear frowned slightly and turned to look at Haggs.

What is a mud queen bee?

Haggs snapped back to reality, his voice tinged with excitement.

"My lord, the swamp wasp is an extremely ferocious insect in the swamp. It usually hunts and lives alone and does not build nests."

"They only gather together when the queen bee is born."

"The queen of the swamp wasps is the leader of the swamp wasps and possesses extremely special powers. Most remarkably, they can enhance the potential of life, activate a person's heroic talent, and even if a talent has already been awakened, a second one can be awakened!"

His face was full of excitement as he spoke.

"This is not a legend, but something that many people have verified."

After saying that, he added another sentence.

"Once the queen of the mud swamp wasp is born, she becomes extremely dangerous. Not only will her numbers increase rapidly, but she will also become more ferocious and powerful. I have heard that there are swamps that have been completely occupied by mud swamp wasps, and outsiders simply cannot set foot in them!"

"These rotting orcs are trying to lure us in!"

Lear nodded slowly.

Looking at the rotting orc with a triumphant smile, he smiled.

Using someone else to do their dirty work, these guys actually know how to use their brains now.

The interrogation continued, but the orc said nothing except for information about the mud wasps.

Seeing the opponent's aura gradually disappear, Lear didn't waste any words and waved his hand, letting Hagus finish him off.

Mud wasps?

The sight of the rotting orcs and Hagus aroused his curiosity.

Awaken your second talent.

He looked at his blank hero talent and fell silent.

To be honest, he is currently only a level 3 mage apprentice with a potential of only 2 stars. Although there is an evolution stage later, it has remained at 1% with no other developments.

The skills "Divine Might Residual Power" and "Swamp's Blessing" are obtained after fusing with a godhood.

It wasn't his own talent.

He is not a hero unit yet.

It was a little awkward.

This body's potential is clearly limited. If it weren't for the Swamp Godhood it obtained, it might never have been able to condense a seed of magic and embark on the path to transcendence.

Compared to a true genius like Felena, the gap is vast.

If all the divine attributes and authority are collected later, it can make up for the loss.

Now, the value of being able to awaken one's own talent and become a hero unit is self-evident.

Even if you don't need it yourself, training another hero or upgrading Hagus would be enough.

While they were pondering, the bodies had already been gathered together.

Lear's gaze was deep.

The divine aura emanated a faint pressure, and a dark blue energy enveloped the corpse.

Streams of life energy were extracted and dispersed among the surrounding wetland lizardmen.

These fifty-odd corrupt orcs turned into scum, increasing their evolution level from 70% to 75%.

Increase by 5%.

The higher the level, the more life energy they gain. These orcs are clearly more than one level stronger than the merfolk and the Keld ratmen.

With 25% remaining, the Wetland Lizardman will be able to complete the advancement.

Just then, Haggs approached excitedly, carrying a blood-stained package, and handed it over.

"My lord, this is full of gold coins!"

Lear took it with considerable surprise. Did the orcs still have this kind of thing in reserve?

Upon opening it, a vast expanse of golden light was revealed.

I scooped it up with my hand, and felt the unique texture of metal.

There are at least a thousand gold coins in this package.

Where did these guys steal it from?

"Any other discoveries?"

Haggs shook his head.

"there is none left"

With the heavy gold coins in his hand, Lear's mood improved somewhat.

These corrupt orcs not only became spoils of war themselves, but also contributed thousands of gold coins. Not bad, very good indeed.

If all the monsters in the swamp were this well-behaved, the construction of the city of Weilu would be a breeze.

After cleaning up the battlefield, continue exploring outwards.

His gaze followed the direction the corrupt orc had indicated.

Send the wetland lizardmen who are scouting ahead to search in this direction first.

It's a pity the intelligence system won't be updated until the 10th. If it had information about mud wasps, it would have saved us a lot of trouble.

Further in, traces of the orcs' retreat remained in this direction. Soon, they discovered a gathering place of wild monsters slaughtered by the corrupt orcs. This was a group of murlocs they had encountered before, numbering about fifty.

Lear gladly accepted the corpses scattered everywhere, which increased his evolution level by 1% again.

It's a little less, but little by little, it adds up and eventually reaches the maximum.

After passing through the murloc area, they came across an open area in a swamp where more than 40 orc corpses were piled up.

His body was covered in huge bumps, which was quite creepy.

A bright smile spread across Lear's face.

Good heavens, they're not here to patrol the swamp, they're here to collect treasures!

Collect corpses and extract life energy. After a combo, the evolution level increases again.

80%.

Evolution is just one step away!

Who wouldn't love something that's free?

Feels good.

Continuing to explore along the path, about ten minutes later, a warning came from the lizardmen in the wetlands ahead.

Lear immediately instructed everyone to hold their breath, slow their pace, and proceed cautiously.

A moment later, after passing through a haystack and muddy area, a giant tree, seventy or eighty meters tall, appeared at the end of the line of sight, blocking out the sky.

All around this large tree, the buzzing sound of countless wings flapping was breathtaking.

Giant wasps, each over thirty centimeters long, with slender waists, venomous stingers, and black and yellow plumage, flew around the tree.

The sheer number of them was like wave after wave of dark tides, impossible to calculate.

The central part of this large tree was covered with a honeycomb made of black soil.

It resembles a city of wasps.

Just one glance at it can send chills down your spine.
