Chapter 9 - Are You Starting Your Victory Speech Already, Madam Herta?

Herta instinctively wanted to command the mirrors to stop this fellow and fiercely interrogate her.

But clearly, the other party had already deciphered the mirrors' secret in this short time.

The mirrors' blockade failed to take effect.

She could only watch helplessly as the figure vanished in the flames.

"Heh heh, good, very good. Do you think you can run away?!"

Herta didn't bother with further words. She immediately took her mirrors and, following the faint residual spatial fluctuation, left the Space Station.

She pursued the imposter.

At this moment, seeing how easily the imposter could break the blockade of the four mirrors,

Herta truly began to doubt the person's identity.

It wasn't self-praise.

It was just that these few mirrors, although not her full effort, were definitely not something just anyone could crack.

Otherwise, she wouldn't use them so often for everything.

The fact that the opponent could crack them so easily,

and also create a Curio that could instantly transform the entire Space Station,

made her wonder: Could the opponent truly be another Genius impersonating her?

Or perhaps the opponent possessed a relic of another Genius.

Otherwise, the person's series of actions were simply too difficult to explain.

So, Herta was truly angry right now, but her curiosity was just as genuine.

She really wanted to uncover the true identity of this imposter.

She wanted to see who exactly had orchestrated this grand drama of the real and fake Herta.

Then Herta would severely hang the person up, keep her by her side, and make her do hard labor for the rest of her life!

Just then:

"Madam Herta, we've found the landing trajectory of that imposter!"

"Well done! Chase after her!"

Herta sneered.

If they thought she, Herta, was someone who gave up so easily, they were gravely mistaken!

...

Meanwhile,

'Herta', having fled the Herta Space Station and arrived somewhere on the Blue Planet, glanced at her panel:

[Character Impersonation System]

[Name: Baiming (Great Herta)]

[Lifespan: 78:00:26 (Paused) + 1 Day (Character Impersonation)]

[Available Transformation Characters: Great Herta]

[Available Draw Count: 1 (01.3%)]

In just this short period,

the scene of her escape had instantly pushed the draw count past one hundred percent.

'Herta' let out a sigh of relief upon receiving a new draw count.

He had to admit, Herta provided generous gains.

If he had kept up the entanglement for a whole day, he felt he could have gotten two draws.

But if he continued the entanglement, Baiming wasn't confident he wouldn't make a mistake.

She wasn't Herta herself; although the brain was competent, as the operator, he wouldn't dare claim he was better than Herta.

However...

Herta is not someone who gives up easily.

Now, the opponent would definitely find a way to chase after her.

This was within her expectation.

So, she needed to find a way to interfere a bit and then look for an opportunity to pull a 'cicada shedding its shell'.

She was just pondering this,

when a spatial ripple came from behind.

'Herta' turned to look,

a mirror materialized out of thin air, and then Madam Herta stepped through the mirror surface, appearing before her.

"Hmph, if you thought you could escape my grasp so easily, you were sorely mistaken."

This time, Madam Herta did not urge the mirrors forward.

Instead, she personally held the key-like staff and pressed closer to 'Herta'.

But 'Herta' had one of those, too.

With a wave of her hand, an identical staff appeared in her own grip.

However, 'Herta' had no intention of fighting; instead, she chuckled and sat on it:

"If you just follow me like this, you won't catch me, Madam Herta~"

With that, another burst of flame instantly engulfed 'Herta'.

At the same time, the staff beneath her instantly launched an attack!

It released a Gravitational Collapse Cannon on the spot.

This attack method instantly creates a high-gravity singularity to destroy nearby matter.

Of course,

'Herta' had no intention of actually killing anyone.

The attack's power was significantly reduced.

Her only goal was to disrupt the space here.

To slow Herta down a little in her pursuit.

To give herself a little time to prepare.

The moment space became distorted, Madam Herta took countermeasures, quickly smoothing out the spatial distortion,

and released a gravitational net, attempting to capture the imposter in front of her.

Of course, she failed.

'Herta's escape speed was surprisingly fast, so fast that Herta clicked her tongue in wonder:

"This fellow... is she part rabbit? How can she run so much?"

...

In a new location,

'Herta' maintained her seated posture and looked at her panel:

[Character Impersonation System]

[Name: Baiming (Great Herta)]

[Lifespan: 84:00:26 (Paused) + 1 Day (Character Impersonation)]

[Available Transformation Characters: Great Herta]

[Available Draw Count: 1 (12.3%)]

"I'll draw the card right away."

'Herta' thought about Madam Herta, who should be catching up soon.

She decided to draw a card first.

'Draw Card!'

She silently shouted in her heart.

The familiar image of the train rushing past flashed by.

This time, golden light still illuminated the scene.

Immediately, a vibrant red petal drifted past her eyes.

The woman in the long coat, carrying a lengthy blade, materialized before Baiming.

'Holy crap, a more serious one has arrived!'

Baiming looked at the card art, which belonged to Acheron, and his expression turned slightly horrified.

Can I please stop getting cards that put so much pressure on me?

It would be so much better if she drew simple cards like Huohuo, Sushang, or Qingque.

He could easily earn his life back just by finding the original and having a little fun.

The first time being Great Herta could be blamed on a problematic landing location.

But the second time is a character of Acheron's difficulty.

Come on, man.

With my weak and vulnerable soul, won't using a card like Acheron get me swallowed whole by the Nihility?

Is my own luck flawed?

Baiming fell into self-doubt.

So much so that he accidentally neglected his surroundings.

Suddenly, his chin was grasped by delicate fingers and forcefully lifted.

'Herta' came to her senses,

and found that it was Herta again.

She had somehow appeared in front of him,

pinching his chin, but no longer being polite like before. Instead, she was examining the face from side to side.

'Herta' tried to move.

She realized that this time, Madam Herta had learned her lesson.

She didn't waste any words, but immediately deployed a hundred layers of different types of restrictions. Now, she couldn't even move a finger.

Madam Herta carefully admired her own peerless beauty and sighed:

"An imitation that is truly flawless... You, with such great ability, are spending your time impersonating me instead of solving problems. It's truly baffling."

It was as if she were giving an acceptance speech to 'Herta'.

As if victory were already in hand.

"Are you starting your victory speech already?"

'Herta's face was pinched, but her eyes showed no panic whatsoever.

Herta also understood that with the imposter's capability, these hundred layers of restrictions were only buying a little more time.

To truly capture her might turn into a prolonged battle of wits.

Herta, in turn, showed a remarkably strong interest in this prospect.
