Chapter 1 - It Chose Me

It seems that I have transmigrated into a novel I was reading.

Wait, that's too bland. Well, let's go back a little.

I was doing my own thing yada yada taking the train home from work while reading the novel I was binged reading for the past week when the train suddenly went off rail which in turn flipped the train upsidedown sending me flying out of the window into my death.

Well, not really because as I was falling to the ground a speeding truck hit me mid air which immediately killed me.

And now... I'm looking at a system window in front of my face.

[Registration in process. Please choose a username. Please note that this username CANNOT be changed whatsoever.]

. . . Hehe.

[FemboyLover67 has been registered.]

The floating window blinked twice, as if judging me.

[Confirming registration… Username verified. Initializing System Package (Basic).]

A soft chime echoed in my head. Something like a loading bar appeared beneath the text, glowing a calming blue that absolutely did not match the situation.

My vision finally sharpened, and only then did I realize I wasn’t standing. I wasn’t lying down either. I was… floating? Suspended in an empty white space that stretched infinitely in every direction. No train wreck. No truck. No blood. Just me, my clothes, and the world’s most questionable username.

Another window appeared.

[Welcome, FemboyLover67.

Transmigration successful.]

Successful? Damn, I died twice in under five seconds.

[World Selected: “The Hero Who Regressed for the 9th Time”

Role Assigned: Unnamed Background Extra #47

Status: Disposable.]

Ah. Wonderful.

Before I could complain, more lines unfolded.

[As a newly registered user, you are entitled to a Beginner Perk.

Please select one.]

Three icons popped up:

1. Beginner’s Luck (One-time random miracle)

2. Plot Armor Shard (Survive one fatal encounter… probably)

3. Absolute Trash Talent (But EXP gain +300%)

The system pulsed expectantly.

Somewhere in the distance—if distance even existed here—I felt a tug pulling me downward. As if the world I was about to enter was already impatient.

The timer appeared.

[Selection time remaining: 10 seconds.]

Ten seconds? For my entire new life?

Of course.

The system didn’t care.

It counted down.

10… 9… 8...
