Lilian's POV
Watching me finally accept her gift, Rosie's face lit up with genuine joy. "Wonderful. I've been hoping to give this to you for so long. You mean the world to me."
My fingers traced the delicate bracelet, and guilt crashed over me like a tidal wave. To Rosie, I had always been the perfect granddaughter-in-law, yet behind her back I had committed unforgivable acts.
Hot tears spilled down my cheeks without warning.
Rosie's expression grew concerned as she reached for me. "Darling, what's troubling you? Has Augusto been unkind?"
I shook my head violently, my voice breaking. "No, he's been wonderful, and so have you. I just don't know how to repay all your kindness."
Rosie's face softened. "You're family now, sweetheart. I've considered you my own from the very beginning."
A staff member appeared beside us. "Mrs. Atlas, the celebration has been underway for quite some time, and the guests are asking for you."
