He continued, "Look, I get that you're bothered by Romano hanging around Lorelei so much. I'll cut back on their time together going forward."
"I'm willing to let the parent-teacher meeting incident slide, but you owe me an explanation for why you pushed Romano yesterday and forced my mother to bow down to you."
"I need you to come home right away, and you need to make things right with my mom."
Reed steered the conversation straight back to yesterday's drama.
I almost wanted to laugh at the absurdity of it all.
'Am I not being crystal clear here, or is Reed really this dense?'
'When exactly did I say I was backing down from this divorce?'
'Are you kidding me?'
I drew in a slow breath, centering myself. "Reed, this marriage is done. I'm not apologizing to anyone—period."
"Why are you being so stubborn about this?" Reed shot me a look I couldn't decode.
I didn't flinch, meeting his gaze head-on with zero wavering in my resolve.
