After dinner, Ryan and the others returned to school, while the four girls stayed overnight at Jonah Bell Family's house, where Miles and Jonah stayed in the adjacent room.
Shea and Rhonda stayed in Jonah's room, while Sharon and Farah stayed in Rhonda's theoretical room.
"Let me tell you, this room has terrible soundproofing. If we stand on the balcony, we can hear everything next door," Rhonda said as she brought Shea to the balcony in the living room and shared a secret: "A couple of days ago, I heard Miles talking to his mom on the phone. Those two are definitely plotting against you, so be careful."
She was like a spy now, eavesdropping from the balcony whenever there was noise next door. Any talk concerning Shea was relayed, while unrelated gossip was just listened to and forgotten.
