Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: You're Called 'Iron Head,' Why Would I Shoot You There?

I, one of Hell's Kitchen's top gang bosses, just got robbed!?Are you kidding me!?

Hammerhead's already fierce face turned a deep purple, as if he'd been slapped. He had just finished threatening Wesley, Kingpin's representative, declaring that no one dared provoke the Maggia—and now someone was openly challenging him in his own territory! He could practically see Wesley's barely concealed smirk, which only fueled his rage.

He shoved aside two croupiers roughly, stood abruptly, and glowered at the subordinate who had delivered the news.

"Was it the Devil's Gang?"

"No, Boss. Not them," the subordinate replied quickly.

That only poured gasoline on Hammerhead's fire. His eyes darkened, voice low and terrifying:"Seems our Maggia has gone too long without making a statement. Now, any insignificant nobody thinks they can step on us! How many people did they send?"

The subordinate hesitated, trembling, and slowly raised a finger."A hundred…?"

Hammerhead's brow furrowed. A hundred was a sizeable force.

"No… just one."

"?"

Hammerhead froze, blinking. "Are you joking?"

"It's true, Boss!"

His roar shattered the private room:"One person… dared to cause trouble in Maggia territory? Where the hell are our men!?"

The subordinate shrank, barely audible:"That person's aim is incredible. Over thirty of our men are down already… we couldn't stop them."

"Useless! Trash!" Hammerhead clenched his fists until his knuckles cracked. Grinding his teeth, he spat:"I want to see which reckless bastard dares—"

BOOM!

A massive explosion ripped through the wall. Smoke and rubble filled the room.

A figure strolled in, Golden Desert Eagle gleaming under the lights. Dazzling, almost blinding.

Daniel.

He casually surveyed the stunned crowd before fixing his gaze on Hammerhead."You're the Iron Head guy?"

Iron Head? Was he talking about me?

Hammerhead narrowed his eyes, confused but furious:"You… this reckless idiot, you're causing trouble in my territory!?"

Daniel spread his hands casually:"Couldn't be helped. You wouldn't give me the money."

Hammerhead's jaw twitched. Take it if they don't pay? Even more criminal than the gang itself.

"Kill him!" Hammerhead bellowed, murderous intent boiling over.

Gangsters drew their guns. Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Bullets rained toward Daniel.

Daniel rolled to the side, muttering:"Local gangs really have no manners—shooting over the slightest disagreement."

Dead Eye!

Time slowed. Daniel didn't hesitate. He fired.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Five gangsters' heads exploded like flowers, collapsing to the ground.

The rest panicked, pulling triggers wildly. Bullets screamed like rain—but against Daniel, it was useless.

Seconds later, the room was littered with bodies. Only Hammerhead and Wesley remained.

"Coward!" Hammerhead spat, glaring at Wesley hiding under a sofa. He then advanced on Daniel."Who are you? Who sent you!?"

Hammerhead's instincts were correct. This wasn't a random thug.

"Since you figured it out, I won't pretend anymore." Daniel's tone turned serious."I'm an NYPD officer. My superiors sent me to arrest you."

In reality, Daniel had accepted a S.H.I.E.L.D. mission to investigate Hammerhead. Normally, S.H.I.E.L.D. didn't handle gangs—but Hammerhead was no ordinary criminal. Witnesses claimed he survived gunshots to the head and overturned speeding cars with his bare skull. Nick Fury wanted him investigated.

"An NYPD officer?" Hammerhead looked at the blinding Golden Desert Eagle. Wealthy now, are they?

His eyes flickered. "No matter who you are… leave. I'll pretend this never happened."

Daniel shook his head:"Not happening. I still need to arrest you and report back."

"Then there's nothing to discuss! Go to hell!"

Hammerhead lunged like a wild beast. Bang!

A dull shot. Hammerhead barely flinched. A golden bullet lodged harmlessly in his alloy-plated skull and fell to the ground.

"Hahaha! Useless!" Hammerhead laughed, patting his head. "Even bullets can't hurt me!"

Daniel raised an eyebrow, slightly surprised. So the legends were true—his head really was impervious.

"Come on, bastard! Keep shooting! Let's see—Aargh! My leg!!"

A crisp gunshot rang out.

Hammerhead collapsed, clutching his bleeding leg. Pain and disbelief twisted his face."Wh-Why… didn't you shoot my head!?"

The truth: during a prior gang war, his head had been replaced with solid alloy. That's why he was invincible in legends. He hadn't expected Daniel… this dishonorable cheat… to target his knee.

Daniel shrugged casually:"Nonsense. You're called Iron Head. Even your toes know your head's as hard as iron. Why would I shoot there?"

Hammerhead: "…."
