Chapter 170 - Teaming Up with Vali Team

The day after the Malevolent God Loki's attack, from early morning, Angels, Devils, Fallen Angels, and even a god had gathered at Kazuki's mansion apartment.

The Gremory peerage + α (12 members), the Sitri peerage (8 members), two Grigori executives who were watching the child of God, two from the Norse Mythology faction, and three from the Vali team—a total of 27 distinguished members gathered in the large conference room, facing each other.

At the front of the conference room, seated with their backs to the screen were Azazel, Baraqiel, Odin, and Rossweisse. The others took seats opposite them.

With a light cough, Azazel, acting as the facilitator, opened his mouth.

"Well then, first of all, Vali. What exactly are you planning?"

"Nothing in particular. I just want to fight strong opponents."

Vali replied to Azazel's interrogation with a composed expression.

"What will you do if we refuse?"

"I don't really mind. In that case, I'll just do as I please."

That would be a problem. If they suddenly barged in during their operation and caused it to fail, that would be unbearable. In that case, having them join the operation as allies from the start was far better.

Looking around, Azazel, Rias, Sona, and the others seemed to have reached the same conclusion, wearing resigned expressions.

"Tch, fine. I get it. Let's form a joint front. But in return, you'll have to follow our plan, got it?"

As Azazel said this while glaring at the Vali team,

"Understood. You two are fine with that, right?"

Vali agreed and asked the other two. Bikou waved his hand carelessly, and Arthur nodded silently.

"Well, whatever... Alright! I'll explain the operation!!"

Still suspicious of the Vali team, Azazel began explaining the operation.

For this operation, the 27 people present—no, since Azazel and Odin would be attending the meeting with the Japanese Mythology, 25 members would handle it.

They had requested reinforcements from the Underworld, but it seemed that due to the frequent terrorist attacks by the Khaos Brigade, they had no spare forces to send.

The same went for Norse Mythology; it was currently divided into three factions: the "Open Country Faction" led by Odin, the "Closed Country Faction" including Loki, and the "Neutral Faction."

Apparently, the Open Country Faction had no military strength to counter Loki or Fenrir.

The idea from the original story of borrowing Thor's Mjolnir had also been refused because Thor belonged to the Neutral Faction. Incidentally, it seemed that not even a replica existed.

As the first phase of the operation, the Sitri peerage would use all their power to teleport Loki and Fenrir, who would appear at the venue. The teleportation destination was a wasteland far from human habitation, layered with multiple barriers. There, they would unleash hell upon their enemy without restraint.

In the second phase, they would intercept Loki and Fenrir. The allocation of forces was decided: Kazuki, Issei, and Vali would take on Loki, while everyone else would take on Fenrir.

As the possessors of the Longinus [Boosted Gear] and [Divine Dividing], Issei and Vali, along with Kazuki, who had wounded Loki in the previous night's battle, would naturally handle Loki.

The problem was Fenrir. Bikou and Arthur. Their abilities were undoubtedly excellent, but could they coordinate with the others? No, more fundamentally, did they even intend to coordinate with Rias and the others?

The doubts were endless, but the meeting was tomorrow night, and there was overwhelmingly little time to devise countermeasures.

In this situation, could they defeat Loki and Fenrir—the Malevolent God with immense power and the demonic beast that could kill even a god?

After it was decided to form a joint front, the three members of the Vali team—Vali, Bikou, and Arthur—stayed at Kazuki's mansion until the final battle.

That was fine, but the problem was that they caused all sorts of commotion.

Vali used the training room, library, and theater one after another, and when she got bored, she amused herself by teasing Issei.

Bikou had a carefree, thoughtless personality and stuck his nose into everything, causing unnecessary trouble.

However, the biggest problem was Arthur, whom Kazuki had assumed was the sensible one and the brakes…

Yumi, Xenovia, and Irina were crossing swords in the special training room on the fourth basement floor.

Recently, they had been receiving sword training from Artoria. The three of them were Knight-types; there was no way they would pass up the opportunity to receive direct instruction from the legendary King Arthur, the "Knight King."

Since Artoria was running late, they were lightly exchanging swords as a warm-up when,

"Hoh... This is interesting."

It was the swordsman of the Vali team, Arthur.

"Do you need something? This area is off-limits to outsiders during training, you know."

When Yumi asked with a hostile attitude, Arthur replied calmly,

"We're allies in this joint fight, so I'd appreciate it if you weren't so stiff. ...Hmm, perfect timing. Let me test your skills."

Saying that, Arthur drew a sword from thin air. They recognized this sword.

"The Holy Sword Excalibur...!?"

"Yes, the Holy Sword of Dominion, Excalibur Ruler. The last Holy Sword Excalibur that has been missing since ancient times."

Arthur raised the holy sword.

"Now, raise your swords. Show me what you got."

"Gh!?"

Overwhelmed by Arthur's swordsmanship, Yumi raised her Holy Demon Sword, Xenovia raised Durandal, and Irina raised her Light Sword.

The next moment, a silver light was upon Yumi's eyes…
