Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: She’s Back in Action!

Sierra Summers thought about this, and with a heavy heart, she opened Weibo and logged into her account with five million followers: FoodieSierra.

[FoodieSierra: August 24, 2021, weather: clear. Mood: complicated. Met a man in the afternoon for whom I was willing to make a Snow Top Coffee, only to realize in the evening that I wasn't his Snow Top. (Heartbreak.jpg)]

Popular comment: First love, but instantly failed?

The comments below were buzzing with activity:

Wow, Sierra has someone she likes?

Met someone she likes in the afternoon, realized she wasn't his type by evening? That's too tragic~

For new fans, here's some context—Sierra herself said she wouldn't make Snow Top Coffee until she found a boy who made her heart flutter. Don't ask why; if you must know, it's because Sierra doesn't like coffee.

Why so standoffish?! Come on, spill the details!

...

Sierra gave a like to the popular comment and replied with a "crying my heart out" emoji.

Sierra was gloomy all day and went to bed early. The next morning, while having breakfast, Ethan Summers said, "Cecilia, next week we'll be going to Grandpa Sterling's seventieth birthday, take care of your foot."

"Okay, I will," Sierra sipped her porridge, face momentarily surprised, "Brother, is this the prestigious Sterling Family Grandpa you mentioned last month? That Sterling Family?"

The last two words came out shaky and almost cracked.

Ethan took a sip of hot water, "Yes, it's the Sterling Family where Caleb Sterling is from, the one I told you about yesterday."

Sierra felt her shattered heart piece itself together on the ground, starting to flutter again!!

She's back!!!

Sierra gripped her spoon tightly and flashed a sweet smile, "Alright, have a safe trip to the company."

Feeling buoyant, Sierra finished her breakfast. Her fingers swiftly typed out a line on Weibo: If you don't try, how can you be satisfied? (Going for it.jpg)

She spent the entire week carefully tending to the wound on her foot, maintaining her skincare routine, and going to bed early and waking up promptly.

Finally, the day of Grandpa Sterling's seventieth birthday arrived.

Sierra woke up early and pulled open the curtains, noticing the sky was not completely bright yet. She watered the plant on her bedside table and started to prepare herself meticulously.

Everything had been prepared beforehand. The little dress was a soft blue haute couture piece, considering the injury to her ankle, she paired it with Mary Jane shoes—not too high, elegantly designed, and quite unique.

It's a very fitting ensemble for her.

But honestly, Sierra had hesitated briefly, wondering whether she should present her best self or dress according to Caleb Sterling's taste?

But just a glance at her reflection in the mirror was enough for Sierra to make up her mind.

The person she likes must like the most authentic version of her.

Not Sierra dressed deliberately to please Caleb Sterling's preferences.

Coming downstairs, Sierra stood at the staircase, "Mom, Dad, Brother."

"Cecilia! Baby! You look beautiful." Mrs. Summers couldn't get enough of looking at her daughter, holding her hand tightly.

Mr. Summers smiled and nodded in agreement.

Their lost daughter—they felt immense guilt, never ceasing the search for over a decade. They even made mutually beneficial deals with others to soothe the heartbroken wife.

The arrival of the adopted daughter finally made his wife stronger until they fully found Cecilia last month.

It wasn't easy.

The Summers family of four was harmonious, praised by mom, praised by dad, praised by brother.

Sierra's dimples never faded from her smile all morning.

Actually arriving at the Sterling Family, sitting in the car, Sierra started to feel a bit nervous.
