Chapter 32 - Chapter 32: Deciding One's Own Destiny

Leon contacted Sona Sitri in the morning, but it wasn't until the afternoon that Sōna finally got back to him with confirmation.

"My sister agreed. The subordinate will be sent over tomorrow. I'll have her go directly to your place."

When Sona Sitri told Leon the result, her voice carried an indescribable fatigue.

It wasn't physical exhaustion, but a spiritual one—what is known as mental fatigue.

Leon could imagine the extent to which Sōna had been pestered by her sister, the sis-con Satan, for six entire hours from morning to afternoon, and how exhausted she must have been.

"You have my sympathy, Sōna. That was tough on you."

Leon replied with a mix of sympathy and gratitude.

Just for Sona Sitri's self-sacrificing attitude, Leon decided he must repay her with a big gift in the future.

"It's nothing. If you have any other needs, feel free to contact me."

Sona Sitri sighed as she said this, then ended the communication and, through the magic circle in the basement, teleported a large number of books over.

These books were all related to sword skills and swordsmanship. Some were detailed explanations of modern Kendo, the kind that could hand-hold someone through the proper use of a sword, while others were records of famous ancient martial arts schools, and still others were knowledge snatched from the Church during long struggles. After all, the Church's exorcists were most adept at close combat and most often used swords.

Many of the legendary Holy Swords passed down through the ages are currently in the hands of the Church. The Church has also been constantly training qualified users for various Holy Swords, so the books Sona Sitri sent over also contained records and usage methods for various Holy Swords. These were undoubtedly priceless treasures for Asuna Yuuki.

Thus, Leon had Yukino Yukinoshita bring Asuna Yuuki over to take charge of these books.

"This, this many...?!"

Asuna Yuuki looked at the pile of books stacked into a small mountain and instinctively took a few steps back.

"Don't be nervous. I don't expect you to read all of them." Seeing Asuna Yuuki's pale expression, Leon chuckled: "Read the sections related to Holy Swords first, then some books explaining basic sword techniques. As for the rest, which record the swordsmanship of major schools, you can decide whether to look at them. If you feel they're not suitable for you, or you're not interested, then don't bother."

"Is that so?" Asuna Yuuki's face looked much better. Although she still looked a bit distressed, she nodded and said, "I'll do my best."

At this moment, Yukino Yukinoshita spoke up.

"Did you two forget something?" Yukino Yukinoshita suddenly asked: "Unlike me, who lives alone, Yuuki-san is only visiting Chiba with her brother. She's not in a situation where she can just stay here to read and study."

"Her family is in Tokyo, and her school isn't here either."

"She's been missing all night. I estimate her brother and family are already frantic. How can she be thinking about reading and studying right now?"

As soon as this was said, Asuna Yuuki suddenly snapped out of her daze and fell into a state of panic.

"Oh no! I completely forgot about that!"

Poor Asuna Yuuki! When she woke up today, she was first preoccupied with the monster encounter last night, and then her mind was troubled by being reincarnated as a devil, causing her to completely forget about her family from beginning to end.

She was originally lost, unsure what to do next, and could only passively comply with Leon's arrangements. But now, thinking carefully, she realized she had no right to decide these things.

Her family didn't know what she had encountered, and even if they did, they would think she had gone mad. She wasn't in a position to stay here and be a devil in peace. Her brother must still be looking for her. She had to return to Tokyo, return home, and go back to her noble school to study.

Just as Asuna Yuuki was panicking, Leon spoke up.

"I had already considered this matter." Leon said casually: "Don't worry, I've already arranged for someone to contact the Yuuki family to set up a time to discuss her daughter's future."

Yukino Yukinoshita and Asuna Yuuki looked at Leon simultaneously, both stunned.

"Mr. Leon has already contacted my family?"

Asuna Yuuki was a little surprised.

"When did you do something like this?"

Yukino Yukinoshita was also surprised.

"I gave the order when Asuna hadn't woken up yet." Seeing both girls surprised, Leon smiled indifferently, saying: "Asuna is already my subordinate. How could I let her have worries?"

"As my subordinate, she shouldn't be too far from us. Even though the actual distance between Tokyo and Chiba is not far, it's ultimately inconvenient if we're not operating in the same place."

"So, I had already contacted the Yuuki family through my connections."

Don't assume that just because Leon is a noble in the devil world, he has no background or influence in the human world.

He has lived in Chiba for fifteen years and operated in the shadows as a devil for fifteen years. Since childhood, he took on work for the devil faction to ascend to a high-ranking devil, accepting countless summoning requests and fulfilling countless people's wishes, accumulating extremely rich influence.

Many prominent figures in Chiba who have only recently begun to rise were his clients. They were originally either completely ordinary people or once down-on-their-luck individuals with a strong desire to succeed. These wishes were all fulfilled through Leon's hands.

With Leon's ability, clearing obstacles for them or creating favorable conditions for them to climb the ladder was incredibly easy. With a barrage of demotion tactics like suggestion, hypnosis, and brainwashing, these people couldn't not fulfill their wishes.

And to fulfill these wishes, those prominent figures paid a hefty price. Their fortunes and lives are now firmly in Leon's grasp and can be fully regarded as Leon's human connections and background.

Therefore, Leon only needed to use a portion of his connections to reach the Yuuki family and get them to the negotiation table. Asuna Yuuki's brother had also been calmed down and was temporarily not panicking over Asuna Yuuki's disappearance.

"I will get your family to agree to transfer you here to attend Sōbu High, just like us," Leon told Asuna Yuuki: "At that time, you will also be living here directly."

Hearing this, Asuna Yuuki said nervously and worriedly.

"Will that work?"

Her family was not someone who could be easily dealt with, especially her mother. Her life plan for Asuna was set in stone, and it was basically impossible to suddenly change the plan and have her transfer to a "countryside place" like Chiba.

Thinking of her mother's strong personality, Asuna Yuuki couldn't help but feel that this was an impossible task.

However...

"Are you too unconfident in me, or do you think too highly of your family?" Leon said with a slight smile: "Indeed, the Yuuki family's power is not small, and your parents are not simple people, but in my eyes, they are still just ordinary humans."

After being told this by Leon, Asuna Yuuki was suddenly startled to realize that her suddenly acquired master was a devil, wielding supernatural powers unimaginable to humans.

Facing such power, her ordinary parents would not have the ability to resist, right?

Did she just get a massive backing that allows her to resist her family?

Asuna Yuuki's emotions were inexplicably complicated.

Not only Asuna Yuuki, but even Yukino Yukinoshita felt some emotion.

She had previously been worried that her living at Leon's house would be exposed, causing her family to come after her. But after Leon made her famously perfect sister return empty-handed and retreat shamefully, she realized that her family's little influence was nothing compared to Leon, a high-ranking devil from the devil world.

If it weren't for Leon considering her feelings, perhaps he would have already used his magic to brainwash the Yukinoshita family to avoid having to deal with them later.

Regarding the Yuuki family, her master probably wouldn't use crude methods like magical brainwashing to achieve his goal, right?

Then how does he plan to persuade those two?

Yukino Yukinoshita couldn't help but be curious.

"In any case, I will arrange everything. You don't need to have any worries. Go and do what you most want to do now, and make yourselves stronger until you can decide your own destiny."

Leon waved his hand at the two, dismissing Yukino Yukinoshita and Asuna Yuuki.

The two silently picked up the books on the floor, leaving the basement while thinking.

"Strong enough to decide one's own destiny...?"

A myriad of thoughts rose in the minds of the two girls as they left Leon's sight.

Leon, on the other hand, spread his wings, flew into the air, summoned a scene of rising winds and clouds, and entered a state of training again.

...

Chiba City, a quiet area.

In this area close to the Chuo Ward, there is a magnificent church.

The church's exterior is modest, but its interior is solemn and splendid, especially the chapel. Not only does it occupy an extremely large area, but the statue of Jesus located at the deepest part is ten meters tall, full of majesty, making the entire hall flow with a solemn atmosphere.

Perhaps it was cleared beforehand, but the vast chapel was currently empty.

Until... Haruno Yukinoshita arrived here.

"Welcome to the Chiba Church, Miss Haruno Yukinoshita."

A charming nun greeted Haruno Yukinoshita as she entered.

It was none other than Sharon Holygrail.

"You're the one who sent a letter to me saying you had something important to tell me?" Haruno Yukinoshita looked at the nun whose demeanor was unlike a nun, saying: "In this day and age, you still use letters to arrange meetings, and silently delivered it without anyone noticing? Are churches nowadays both so simple and so powerful?"

"I just wanted to talk with you." Sharon smiled brightly: "Talk about something related to your younger sister."

Haruno Yukinoshita frowned, then relaxed her expression.

"Then I'm all ears."
