Adrian played with her fingertips, his tone as lazy as ever: "Want to come with me?"
Serena slightly tilted her head, pondering: "I'm thinking, if you're going home, it might be too late after dinner. Maybe we should just stop here for today? We can meet another time."
Adrian thought she couldn't bear to part, not expecting she was in a hurry to leave: "It's only been a few days, and you're already fed up with me?"
Serena wasn't in the mood to joke with him, remembering how the past few days he had kept her up until dawn, she didn't feel all that tired: "Forget it, as they say, a meal is essential. Let's go eat first."
Adrian produced a candy from who knows where, deftly unwrapped it. Grasping her chin, he placed the candy between her lips.
"Stop paying attention to those sketchy men."
The candy melted in her mouth, sweet but not cloying, releasing dopamine that sparked joy.
