"I never had any intention towards the Grant Family before, but now, even if I don't want to, I have to."
Leo downed the glass of water in front of him in one gulp, slowly opening his mouth to speak.
In the past, he truly had none, but now those people have forced him into it. Facing so many assassination attempts, it's unreasonable for him to remain indifferent towards the Grant Family.
"I remember you made it very clear before you came to Bexley."
Noah Raines said, Arkenfall is where Leo grew up. If Leo hadn't been planning to relinquish his inheritance rights, he wouldn't have traveled all the way to Bexley.
Do these people simply not trust Leo, or are they afraid he'll change his mind?
"Verbal promises don't count as promises; they can be rescinded at any time. They're just afraid Leo will reconsider."
Nathaniel Shaw said, without written evidence, nothing is truly binding. The Grant Family is scared that Leo still wants the inheritance rights, or that he claims to surrender them just to avert disaster.
Without absolute guarantees, these people absolutely won't believe it.
"Why doesn't a verbal promise count as a promise?"
The young girl's cheeks puffed with food, and she looked up at Leo curiously, blinking with a bewildered expression.
She seemed so innocent, truly making her appear naive.
"Silly girl, verbal words are gone with the wind. You can deny ever having said them, understand?"
Leo gently rubbed Holly Sawyer's head and slowly spoke.
"Huh?"
Holly blinked, appearing as if she didn't understand.
"You like lollipops, right?"
Leo asked.
Holly nodded.
"For example, if I tell you now I'll buy you a lollipop, and then later say I won't, without a written note, you have no evidence I ever said I'd buy you one, right?"
Leo explained to the young girl in a concise and understandable manner.
"Oh, I get it now."
Holly nodded, looking like she suddenly understood.
Noah Raines and Nathaniel looked at how patient Leo was with Holly, and it was evident in their hearts that Leo couldn't escape this fate.
Even if there are no feelings now, feelings will develop later.
"Brother, I want to go to the restroom."
Holly gently tugged on Leo's shirt, speaking softly with a slight embarrassment, her face a bit flushed.
"Can you go by yourself?"
Leo pointed out the direction of the restroom for Holly, asking softly.
"Uh-huh."
Holly nodded, then trotted off towards the restroom.
"The young girl is quite shy."
Noah mused, looking at Leo with a playful expression.
To be honest, he thought Leo and Holly were quite a match; inexplicably, they just seemed to suit each other, and their personalities complemented each other well.
"Leo, I actually think you could embrace this young girl."
Nathaniel propped his chin up, looking at Leo with amusement in his eyes.
The young girl was indeed quite cute.
It's just unknown whether the young girl was genuinely innocent or pretending to be, and whether her amnesia was real or fake. If it were all fake, then this young girl would be quite terrifying.
"Don't talk nonsense, the young girl sees me as her brother."
Leo shook his head and said, the young girl was simply too naive, purely viewing him as an older brother.
Holly didn't go straight to the restroom; instead, she turned to the corridor, crossing her arms and standing with a cold expression.
"Speak, what's the matter?"
Holly yawned, asking coldly.
"Boss, how should we arrange our people?"
Walter Bennett asked respectfully. Following Holly's instructions, their people were arriving in Bexley one by one.
The headquarters is in Arkenfall, and there are still many people there. Leo will eventually need to return to Arkenfall, and he needs to help deal with matters there.
"Place some people at the Grant Family villa, and arrange some people in various places to ensure Leo's safety."
Holly slowly opened her mouth to speak, her voice somewhat cold.
She couldn't guarantee he wouldn't get hurt, but she could ensure his life wouldn't be in danger because she had the capability.
"Understood, boss."
Walter nodded, although he didn't quite understand why Holly was so wholeheartedly protecting Leo, as a subordinate, he shouldn't question it.
"Also, assign protection when he goes out, but don't let him notice."
Holly lowered her head, standing with her legs crossed like a boss, her tone equally cold.
It was a sort of gratitude repayment, Holly sighed in her heart, saying she didn't even know why she was so wholeheartedly helping Leo.
To call it returning a favor, it had already been repaid.
"In the future, send me messages if you need anything, no need to seek me out."
After speaking, Holly went to the sink to wash her hands, her tone icy.
Frequent meetings might get discovered; although she was doing good deeds, she still didn't want Leo to know. In front of Leo, she only needed to be a pure little white rabbit.
Once Leo was safe, she could leave.
"Understood, boss."
Walter disappeared from Holly's sight after speaking.
Holly washed her hands once and then returned to the dining room.
"Young girl, look, a white peach oolong-flavored cake."
As soon as Holly returned to her seat, Noah pushed a small cake in front of her.
The last time Holly gave him a white peach oolong lollipop, and last time he saw the young girl's pocket filled with a bunch of white peach oolong lollipops.
Apparently, the young girl liked white peach oolong-flavored things.
"Thank you, Brother Noah."
Holly flashed a sweet smile, her eyes glowing with excitement as she looked at the little cake.
"Here, young girl, this is for you, call me brother."
Nathaniel placed a cup of milk tea in front of Holly, wearing a gentle smile.
Well, he just suddenly felt that Leo's family's young girl was quite adorable. It had been a long time since he had seen such a pure girl.
Holly glanced at Leo, "Brother, what's his name?"
Leo hadn't introduced Nathaniel to Holly yet, but even if Leo hadn't introduced him, Holly knew the person in front of her was Nathaniel. However, she couldn't just say she knew him.
Leo: "Nathaniel."
"Thank you, Brother Nathaniel."
Holly grinned, thanking Nathaniel.
Seeing Holly give the same sweet smile and calling his two brothers the same way she called him, Leo suddenly felt a bit choked up inside.
"You're welcome, you're welcome. If you want to eat something in the future, just tell Brother Nathaniel. He'll treat you when he's free."
Nathaniel was particularly warm towards Holly as he slowly spoke.
He was usually quite busy and didn't have much free time.
As he finished speaking, he deliberately glanced at Leo, hoping to see a change in Leo's expression.
