Evelyn turned back, realizing she was far from her book. She smiled awkwardly and said in annoyance, "Can't I just zone out?"
She was used to doodling on the money she owed him, writing lots of curse words about him, which she dared not let him find out.
Originally, she wrote it not for him to see, but simply to vent.
With a smirk, Caden had already seen Evelyn scribbling away at the money earlier, and coldly questioned, "Where's today's payment?"
"You're already so rich, yet you're always after my little bit of cash!" She pouted defiantly, "Can't you have a bit of conscience and stop squeezing us poor folks?"
Caden raised an eyebrow, scrutinizing Evelyn up and down, and lightly uttered something that made her feel choked, "No money and still dare to sleep with me?"
Her face instantly flushed red, and she quickly handed over the two dollars with respect.
It seemed easier to face him than she imagined, not as awkward.
Last night's events felt more like a dream.
