"Old man, aside from her, there should be a male trafficker too, right?"
The old man shook his head, "I don't know, I've never seen him."
Damn!
The lead police officer immediately felt that something was wrong and quickly looked around.
Everywhere his gaze landed, villagers were scratching their heads and smiling innocently, as if that person didn't exist at all.
Some bold villagers even spoke up with a simple-minded demeanor.
"Officer, don't joke with us. We've never seen any man; only this woman came here."
"Yeah, that's right. With so many of us here, would we really be lying?"
"Officer, you're wronging us. If a man really came here, how could we not know? Would we hide it from you?"
"I testify that only one woman came here; I haven't seen any man. If you don't believe me, ask her."
The villagers were referring, of course, to the female trafficker who had been out and about less recently.
