Doctor Li and Xiao Dong left Sixth Madam's courtyard and, at the corner, saw Qin Yuan waiting there.
"Still too careless," Doctor Li said, "What if you come again tomorrow and she comes looking for you? What will you do?"
Judging by Nanny Zhao's actions, she was not one to simply let matters drop.
Today's business wasn't resolved; who's to say she won't persist and come asking again tomorrow.
Qin Yuan wasn't without other options, but...
She thought for a while, then said, "Tomorrow I won't come again. Sixth Madam is rather suspicious by nature—she never liked hearing you talk about self-cultivation and moral reformation. If she knows I'm entering alongside you both, she'll start imagining things. I fear she'll be even less willing to take the medicine."
Upon hearing the pulse record, Qin Yuan realized Sixth Madam's ailment was a sickness of the heart.
She suspected her own involvement in that heart sickness.
