Hong Ye carried the account books into the main room, while Qin Yuan was drafting memorials, scribbling and crossing out so many pages.
"Miss, have you not eaten yet?"
Qin Yuan replied, "Not yet, I was waiting for you."
Seeing Hong Ye in low spirits, Qin Yuan smiled, "What, did you run into trouble at Sun Accountant's place?"
Hong Ye puckered her lips as she approached, "Not exactly."
Qin Yuan placed the Hu Bi into the blue-and-white porcelain brush washer, and at once a swirl of black mist rose.
Cui Ming walked in and asked, "What's the matter today? Hong Mian also looked dispirited earlier—did she suffer some grievance at Sun Accountant's?"
Hong Ye asked, "How do you mean?"
Cui Ming said, "I was checking the dishes in the small kitchen when Hong Mian came in with a dour face. I asked her, she claimed it was nothing. It's odd."
