Qin Yuan simply hadn't expected Qin Wan to be so incompetent—how long had it been, and she'd already been bullied this thoroughly by Old Lady Lin.
Qin Yuan sighed inwardly; Mrs. Cui had fretted over Qin Wan's marriage for two lifetimes.
She had thought Qin Wan could at least hold out for a while longer.
Qin Yuan relaxed her waist, sinking softly into the cushion as she looked at Qin Wan, lazily saying, "You may not know—Sixth Sister-in-law has been ill for some time; the Dean from the Imperial Hospital told us to prepare early, and now he's simply issued the token, so they must get on with the arrangements as previously discussed. The Astronomical Bureau has said the funeral rites will be three days from now—these days, we receive no guests except clansmen and relatives by marriage; us ladies still have time to talk, but once the funeral starts, there won't even be time to catch our breath. What's the matter with that cousin? Has she already arrived at the Lin Family?"
