The crowd escorted the clan elders out of the ancestral hall and into the side rooms in the courtyard, entering in turn to pay respects to the clan elder, clan elder's wife, clan leader, clan leader's wife, and Old Madam Gu.
By seniority and age, Old Madam Gu would not normally merit this degree of reverence from the clan, but Marquis Gu is of the Direct Lineage and has accomplished much, and the Dingbei Marquis Mansion has generously funded the clan's enduring foundation; thus, Old Madam Gu was invited to attend, Qin Yuan accompanying her side.
Gu Jinghui entered and first glanced at Qin Yuan's expression, seeing it as usual, and finally relaxed.
After the formalities, the clan leader kept Gu Jinghui, then sent for the priest to interpret the divination.
The priest looked and, smiling kindly, congratulated: "My lady drew an excellent hexagram."
The clan leader said, "We must trouble the priest to explain it for us."
