On a day like this, things truly couldn't have been any worse. On days like these anyone would wonder why such a thing happened. Why we weren't able to do anything to help them.

The formidable wall of light towered over the population of Tereque. Ultimately consuming a majority of the population in the village. I hassled to the edge of town with a sense of despair setting in on my face. Why wasn't I able to do anything with or help anyone.
The people that try to assist the injured and disabled are the ones that end up screaming for help them self's.
The light has never moved as quickly as it did on this day. Why now, why at this moment.
"Ahhhhhh!!!!"
I scream as I trip over an unpleasantly placed rock.
Am I gonna die now, is this truly the end for me. All my life wasted away just to be consumed by a random entity that no one truly understands.
I began asking different questions over and over again.
Why now, what did I do wrong to deserve this.

I whisper under my breath true thoughts. The things I'd kept bottled up all this time. Something that I've truly done before.
The wall of light edges towards my feet. I feel nothing. I lack thought, unable to process anything at the moment.
"Pew"
A loud undefined sound rings out as my feet are enveloped in light. But I am unable to fade away from existence. I lay still in the pathetic position I had fallen in for a few seconds and eventually sit up.
When I sit up the only thing that I see is the remains of what used to be half my village.
"W-what"
I start crying unable to process the information flooding in my mind.
