Chapter 61 - Why Does the Jar Shop Smell So Delicious?

"Didn't Chef Mao from Wanmin Restaurant just go in? The smell might be coming from him."

Beside him, another Millelith guard swallowed hard. "That smell... it smells like noodles."

As he spoke, the guard looked intrigued, tempted to go inside and see what kind of food could produce such a tantalizing aroma.

"No, it can't be Chef Mao. If he could make something like this, Wanmin Restaurant would have had it on the menu long ago."

The first guard shook his head. "Even though Chef Mao and Miss Xiangling just went in, I'm more inclined to believe that this smell came from one of the jars. After all, we both know the jars contain all sorts of strange things."

"Ah."

The other guard was taken aback, but then understanding dawned on his face.

Of course. If it came from a jar, that would make sense.

After all, he knew the jars were filled with bizarre and unheard-of items.

"It smells so good! What is that?"

"It smells like noodles... Where is that coming from? It's incredible!"

"I've eaten at Liuli Pavilion and Xinyue Kiosk, and neither of them compares to this smell. What the hell is that?"

"It's coming from over there! Let's go see!"

"This is the most delicious thing I've ever smelled."

At this moment, pedestrians on the street also caught the scent. They stopped, their faces full of surprise, and started murmuring among themselves.

The aroma was better than any meal they had ever eaten.

Following the scent, they turned their gaze toward a small shop in the distance.

The Jar Shop. And there were two Millelith guards standing at the entrance.

"Huh? The Jar Shop? The smell is coming from there. Is it a new restaurant? Doesn't look like one."

"What the hell? Aren't the Millelith supposed to patrol the streets or guard government buildings? Why are they stationed at the entrance of a shop?"

"A Jar Shop... so they sell jars? But why does it smell so delicious?"

The sight of the shop, with its Millelith guards, shocked many passersby.

They had never seen guards stationed at a private business before, standing there like sentinels.

What's the deal with this Jar Shop?

"Oh, it's the Jar Shop. That explains it."

"You guys don't know, do you? This shop sells jars, and inside the jars are all sorts of things."

Someone familiar with the shop began explaining to the newcomers, who listened with wide eyes.

A shop like this exists in Liyue?

It sounds fascinating.

"It's more than just fascinating. You can even find Visions in those jars."

A knowledgeable local chimed in. "Just a couple of days ago, someone pulled a Vision from a jar here. But he used it improperly and got arrested by the Millelith. He's still in jail."

"What?! A Vision?!"

A newcomer to Liyue looked incredulous. "You're lying, right? How could a Vision come out of a jar? The shopkeeper would go bankrupt! And if there were Visions, wouldn't this place be mobbed?"

He looked at the local with contempt. "Next time you try to boast, use some logic. You Liyue locals love to exaggerate."

A Vision? What nonsense.

"Believe it or not, I don't care."

The local's face darkened at the man's scorn. He turned and walked away without another word.

Idiot. He didn't have to believe it. It wasn't worth the effort to explain.

"You newcomers should be more polite," another person said, shaking his head. "Even the Tianquan, Lady Ningguang, has personally visited this shop. Just ask any local, and they'll tell you."

"As for why it's not mobbed... it's because each jar costs 100,000 Mora, and there's a purchase limit."

"This delicious smell is probably coming from one of the jars. It's a shame I'm busy right now, or I'd go in and see for myself."

With that, the person turned and left.

The remaining crowd looked at each other, unsure whether to believe the stories.

Inside the Jar Shop, Felix was reading the item's description.

[White Curry Udon]: A curry dish from a chef in an unknown world. His profound knowledge has elevated this bowl of noodles to an unbelievably delicious level.

Seeing the description, Felix's expression was strange.

Isn't this from the world of Food Wars*?*

He wasn't surprised that an item from that world appeared. He was surprised that the bowl of noodles came out steaming hot, as if it had just been cooked.

That was ridiculous.

"What kind of noodles are these? The smell is incredible!"

Xiangling stared at the large bowl of noodles on the counter, her eyes wide with excitement. The rich broth made her mouth water.

Chef Mao was baffled. You can pull a hot, steaming bowl of noodles from a jar?

"As you can see, it's an incredibly delicious bowl of noodles from an unknown place."

Felix smiled. "You should eat it while it's hot. If it gets cold, the flavor will diminish."

Before Felix even finished speaking, Xiangling reached for the bowl. "The broth is so clear, without a single impurity. It looks so appetizing!"

"Eat, eat!"

Chef Mao pulled a pair of chopsticks from his pouch and handed them to Xiangling. "Daughter, you're the one who pursues culinary perfection. See what you think of the taste."

"Okay!"

Xiangling took the chopsticks and slurped up a mouthful of noodles.

"It's so delicious!"

The moment the noodles entered her mouth, a look of pure bliss spread across her face. "This taste... it's like when I was a child, eating my mother's cooking. It's a taste of happiness."

She began eating quickly.

Soon, the entire bowl of noodles was gone.

"Whew."

Finishing the bowl, Xiangling let out a long sigh. "This bowl of noodles has shown me that I still have a long way to go on my culinary journey. I've memorized this taste, and one day, I'll make noodles that are even more delicious."
