Chapter 34 - Chapter 34 You are the real hero!

Clark stared blankly at Martha, the teacher in front of the school bus, completely oblivious that the water pouring into the school bus had already reached his chest.

The students, swallowed by the river, screamed in terror as they fled the school bus.

But the current swiftly swept in, pulling the students who tried to escape into its embrace.

"Bang! Bang!"

The muffled sound of glass being knocked awakened the dazed Clark; he looked up to his left and saw Mark had already escaped the school bus and was punching the window from the water.

Mark pointed upwards with his finger, signaling him to swim up quickly.

Clark hesitated for a moment, glanced at Martha McConner, then took a deep breath and dived underwater, following Mark's guidance to escape the school bus and swim upwards.

"Splash!"

Mark and Clark surfaced from the river.

"We need to get out of here, Clark."

Mark wiped the Water from his face and said to Clark.

"No! We have to save them!"

Clark firmly disagreed with leaving them to die, "Teacher McConner and the others are still inside."

"That's none of our business."

"Godfather said everyone's life is important, we can't let it happen."

Mark felt Clark was simply unreasonable, "Then what do you want to do? You can't save them."

"I can!"

Clark looked at the gradually sinking school bus and said anxiously, "We can push the school bus to the shore, John, you can do it."

His strength was gradually increasing now, but there was still some gap compared to Mark.

Clark knew that Mark's strength was extraordinary since childhood; as long as the two of them worked together, they could push the school bus up and save everyone.

"No, I can't, Dad said we can't expose our abilities."

Mark shook his head, his expression conflicted, biting his lip and saying, "We can't do this, Clark, it will expose our abilities."

"But they are going to die!"

Clark pointed to the school bus, which was crying out and had largely sunk.

Anxious, he ignored Mark, took a deep breath, and dived down directly.

The Water was pitch Black and bone-chillingly cold.

Clark dived into the murky river, feeling as if a pair of terrifying hands had grabbed him, pulling him forward and down.

Underwater, the vision was severely obscured by the bruised Water.

Clark swam to the back of the school bus, held its base with his hands, and pushed the school bus forward with all his might.

The school bus encountered immense resistance from the Water as it moved forward; Clark gritted his teeth, unleashing all his strength to slowly move the vehicle forward.

Just as he was pushing the school bus with difficulty, he suddenly saw a group of fish swimming towards him.

The strangely shaped fish glowed with a faint green light at the dark green bottom of the Water.

Perhaps because they found it strange to see a human underwater, the fish swam towards Clark.

Pushing the school bus, Clark suddenly thought of the mermaids that Godfather had once told Mark about.

He wondered if mermaids, if they existed, would look like these strange fish.

As he was lost in thought, the school of fish swam to Clark's side and touched his body.

The moment he was touched, Clark instantly felt a wave of weakness.

That feeling of weakness he had experienced when he held Lana's necklace before descended upon him again.

Stunned, Clark looked at the fish glowing with a faint green light.

Do these fish also have that green stone inside their bodies?

The next second, he felt the school bus he was pushing suddenly become incredibly heavy.

The cold river Water quickly surrounded him; Clark tried with all his might to swim upwards, but his strength rapidly drained.

Falling to the bottom of the Water, his palms touched the mud, his fingertips touched the Black, his skin pressed against the skin, feeling surrounded by immense darkness.

The cold river Water, mud, silt, and screams all assailed him.

Everything was like broken glass, unable to find any radio station with sound.

The fish swam around him, and everything underwater seemed to change.

Clark gasped, trying to breathe, but was helpless.

His throat was tightly closed, he felt his lungs flattened, and tears were squeezed to the edge of his eyes.

"Bang!"

Clark, whose consciousness was gradually blurring, suddenly felt a pair of hands grab him.

He struggled to open his eyes and saw Mark swimming forward, holding his arm with one hand, and chasing the fish away with the other.

After leaving the fish, the two swam together towards the sinking school bus.

This time, Mark did not leave directly, but joined the gradually recovering Clark in pushing the tail of the school bus towards the shore.

With Mark joining, the pushing speed of the school bus accelerated significantly.

Inside the school bus, Martha McConner was holding a girl, awaiting fate's final judgment.

The murky Water had already reached the top of her head; she used all her strength to lift the girl above her head, allowing her to breathe a few more breaths of fresh air.

But as her breathing became heavier and heavier, she quickly felt her consciousness dissipate.

Just as she was about to lose her grip, she suddenly felt the school bus shake.

Accompanied by a "creak, creak" sound, the school bus was slowly lifted, and the flowing Water inside also drained out.

Gasping for air, Martha McConner immediately hugged the girl she was holding, "Anna, are you alright?"

"I'm fine, Teacher Martha."

The girl made a faint sound.

"God, it's good that you're alright."

Holding the girl, Martha McDonald looked towards the back of the bus, and the scene before her left her dumbfounded.

Clark and Mark were working together to push the school bus towards the shore.

The rear wall of the school bus had a gap from being hit by the paint truck, so not only she, but also several first-grade girls at the back of the bus saw the two pushing the school bus.

"God!"

Martha McConner felt that she must be hallucinating, otherwise she wouldn't have seen such an incredible scene.

Several little girls who had just narrowly escaped death looked at the two with shock mixed with fear.

Old Hori on the shore, the burnt-out cigarette in his hand forgotten, looked at Clark and Mark, who pushed the school bus ashore, with disbelief.

Peter was the first to receive notification of the school bus accident; after making a phone call to Jonathan and his wife, he immediately drove to the scene.

Police cars and ambulances were parked at the scene, and medical personnel were transporting the injured students to the hospital.

When Peter found Clark, the two were wrapped in towels, drinking hot Water.

"Dad!"

"Godfather!"

Seeing Peter appear, the two immediately moved closer.

"So… Clark, John."

Peter glanced at the school bus on the shore and immediately understood what had happened.

He looked at the two young boys and asked, "You two saved the school bus and became heroes?"

"No."

Clark glanced at Mark and whispered, "I'm not, Mark is the true hero."
