Chapter 95 - Chapter 97: Star-Lord, who appears to be a good man but is actually a sinister person

"OK, you can pick three cards! Don't let me see them, show them to your buddy, and remember which card it is, OK?"

Star-Lord held a deck of cards, showing them to the two tall, sturdy middle schoolers in front of him.

At this moment, the two students each held a baseball bat, facing Star-Lord, who was a chubby kid.

Since the two had already robbed Star-Lord, they didn't quite understand why he wasn't crying and going home; instead, he was offering to perform a magic trick for them.

"You remembered it, right?"

Star-Lord asked earnestly.

"Yes?"

"Good, then give me that card, and I'll insert it in."

Star-Lord coughed, put the card the other party drew into the deck, and then skillfully reshuffled it.

"Now I don't know which card you drew, because I didn't see it, right?"

The middle schooler holding the baseball bat nodded hesitantly, then quickly pointed the bat at Star-Lord, "Don't play any tricks on me."

"I won't, it'll be quick."

After shuffling the cards, Star-Lord pulled out a 2 of Hearts from the deck and showed it to the other party.

"You chose this one just now, right?"

The two older students exchanged glances, "No, not this one, you can't do magic at all, idiot."

"No?"

Star-Lord surprisingly took the card, examined it carefully, "That shouldn't be right!"

"Hey, don't play tricks on me, take everything out of your backpack, kid, no tricks, or I'll beat you so bad your mom won't recognize you."

"No, I won't."

Saying that, Star-Lord re-drew a 9 of Spades, a faint, honest smile on his lips, "I guess it should be this one, the Nine of Spades, am I right?"

He flicked the Nine of Spades with his left hand, and the card instantly appeared in his right hand.

"Look, is it it?"

As he spoke, Star-Lord handed the card to the other party.

Seeing Star-Lord's brilliant magic trick, the two older students exchanged glances, their faces showing expressions of disbelief.

"Good trick."

"Your sleight of hand doesn't match your physique."

The two students relaxed and joked with him.

However, the next second, Star-Lord suddenly exploded, snatching the baseball bat from the guy standing in front of him, then delivered a backhand elbow strike, knocking down the other older student.

After snatching the baseball bat, Star-Lord grabbed the other party's collar and pushed him against the wall.

He asked the other party, "Do you want to see another magic trick?"

"Gulp!"

The student whose baseball bat was taken swallowed, his body trembling nervously, fearing that the other party would really hit him with the bat, "No…"

"What?"

Under Star-Lord's threatening gaze, he quickly stammered, "No… I mean… I want to see…!"

"You really want to see it!"

With that, Star-Lord pushed the other party forward, causing him to hit the wall with a "bang."

Then he turned and walked over to the other older student who was lying on the ground.

He then bent down and pulled a walkman out of the other party's pocket.

"You shouldn't have stolen my walkman, or I wouldn't have done that to you."

Star-Lord, with a serious expression, said as he pulled out the walkman, put it in his pocket, and then turned and left without looking back.

Watching Star-Lord's retreating back, the two shaken students exchanged glances.

This little fatty… seems to be quite something!

However, they soon doubted their own conjecture.

Star-Lord put on his headphones, nodding and swaying from side to side, occasionally twisting his waist, or, when he felt like it, kicking a stone by the roadside.

His cringe-worthy dance moves, combined with his physique, made him unbearable to look at.

"Yes, he doesn't look like an ordinary person, more like a… fool…?"

Unaware that he was being discussed by the two, Star-Lord was immersed in his own World, feeling as if the entire World was at his feet.

At Patrick Farm, Peter looked at Star-Lord, who was stuffing a sweet cake into his mouth, with a serious expression.

Three years had passed since the last great battle with Lucifer.

In three years, Clark and Mark were now ten years old.

Logically, Star-Lord, being three years old, should still be just a three-year-old toddler.

But for some reason, perhaps as Kelly said, this kid was born in the year of the pig, and at only three years old, he had grown to the size of an average six-year-old child.

This is three years old?

I don't believe it!

But fortunately, all of this was within Peter's understanding, after all, this mischievous child could activate his Celestial Power to deal with Lucifer even as an infant.

It was clear that precociousness was nothing incomprehensible.

However, the only thing Peter regretted was that since the last battle with Lucifer, Star-Lord had basically not activated his Celestial Power again.

It seemed that this kid, like Clark and Mark, would gradually develop his abilities as he grew older.

"Star-Lord, did you go to the Kavachi Tribe to see Miss Kelly?"

Recently, there were matters in the Kavachi Tribe, so Kelly was temporarily busy there and had not returned to the farm.

"Yes, Dad, Miss Kelly said she still needs to stay there for a while; it seems they have a land dispute with the government, I don't quite understand it."

Star-Lord said while eating a sweet cake.

"Hey!"

Mark looked at the food crumbs Star-Lord was shaking onto him, put down his cutlery, "Can you… can you eat quietly, without making noise, and without getting food crumbs everywhere?"

"Sorry, I usually eat like this."

"You…"

Mark pushed his chair away in annoyance, glaring at Star-Lord, "Can you add 'Brother' before your answer when you reply to me?"

"Sorry."

Seeing Star-Lord's insincere apology, Mark felt like he really wanted to punch this little fatty, "Is there something wrong with you?"

"What?"

Star-Lord turned his face to look at him, "I've always been fine; Dad says I have no problems with either sleeping or eating."

Although optimistic at heart, Star-Lord was also very annoyed by Mark's constant nitpicking.

"If you feel I'm bothering you, Clark."

Star-Lord walked towards a slightly bewildered Clark with his plate, "Let's eat together."

"Okay."

Clark subconsciously nodded, completely oblivious to Mark's very displeased expression nearby.

Peter looked at his two arguing sons and coughed in dissatisfaction.

Neither of these two gave him any peace of mind.

As expected, raising a daughter was the most hassle-free, at least they wouldn't be so noisy.

"John."

Peter glanced at Mark.

Mark, who had puffed out his cheeks like a giant puffball exhaling, quickly sat down obediently after seeing Peter's serious face.

Clark, seeing the tense atmosphere at the dinner table caused by Star-Lord and Mark, tried to talk about other topics.

"Godfather, when is Mr. Jones coming?"

Peter thought for a moment, "Probably next month, he has a lot of his own things to deal with, you know, Mr. Jones is a very ambitious person, do you miss him, Clark?"

"Yes, I want to ask him some questions."

Clark said he wanted to do an extraterrestrial life survey, and perhaps Martian Manhunter could help him.

Peter nodded, "Did your teacher assign practical homework, Clark?"

"Yes, I need to look up some information; I remember some things, but I've forgotten recently, and I can't recall where I saw this information."

Clark said he had been very forgetful lately.

Peter really wanted to complain: Your super brain hasn't developed yet?

Unexpectedly, Star-Lord, who was eating, suddenly let out a loud sound— "Hey!!"

Startling Clark so much that the soup spoon in his hand dropped onto the table.

"You remembered, Clark?"

"What?"

Clark looked at him blankly.

Star-Lord asked expectantly, "Didn't you just remember something you couldn't recall?"

"No! I didn't remember; why did you shout?"

Clark asked in confusion.

"Dad said that sometimes a sudden scare can help you recall something, so… I wanted to scare you a bit, maybe you'd remember, I wanted to help you."

Clark said speechlessly, "I don't think that method would work."

After Clark and Mark left the farm for school, Star-Lord stayed on the farm because he was not old enough for school.

"Dad, can you teach me another magic trick?"

Star-Lord came over, full of anticipation, and asked.

"You still want to learn magic?"

Although he grew up on a farm, Star-Lord's personality still carried a bit of the Shadow of his previous life.

For example, he was occasionally comical, lively, kind, intelligent, liked to create strange gadgets, and enjoyed embarrassing dancing and music.

However, this kid's personality also had a ruthless side.

His precocious nature made him very sensitive to external emotions.

Although he usually had great tolerance and understanding, all this "goodwill" was built on the crucial foundation of "those close to him not being harmed." Once this defense line was broken, what this kid revealed was a complete lack of mercy.

For example, last time someone insulted Clark and Mark, Star-Lord knocked the person down with one punch.

Anyway, this mischievous child's impulsive personality probably couldn't be changed.

"Didn't you just learn a magic trick yesterday?"

Peter looked at him in surprise.

"That magic trick has lost its novelty, Dad, I want to learn a new one."

Star-Lord continued, a bit dejectedly, "After I used this magic trick in front of others, it felt like it had lost its novelty."

"Uh huh."

Peter nodded, "So you got into a fight outside today, right?"

"They tried to rob me, Dad."

Star-Lord stated that he was acting in self-defense.

"You said I should punch them in the face, and although I didn't do that, I gave them an elbow."

Star-Lord said proudly, "And I took the opportunity to show them my magic trick."

Peter was silent for a moment, then asked the other party, "So… you deliberately let them rob you, then performed a magic trick for them, and finally beat them up?"

He hadn't expected this kid to be so cunning and even know how to bait people into a trap.

"No, Dad, I'm the victim, I didn't do it on purpose."

Star-Lord pretended to be well-behaved.

Peter looked at his harmless little chubby face and couldn't help but inwardly complain: Did this kid learn his disguised expression from Mark?
