Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

After a night of testing and exploration, Momonga could finally confirm that he was now in the real world, but this real world was not the world of YGGDRASIL, but a completely new and unknown world.

Nazarick was not surrounded by grasslands, but by eerie, poisonous swamps, and the sky of Helheim was not as clear and bright.

Although it was night, the moon and stars were visible in the sky of this world, a stark contrast to the overcast skies of Helheim.

Sebas's reconnaissance report also indicated that this was not Helheim, nor even like YGGDRASIL; although it was unbelievable, Momonga could only accept such a result for now.

However, these were minor issues. What Momonga was most worried about were the NPCs of Nazarick. These NPCs were created by him and his companions together. After coming to the real world, the NPCs not only gained life but also their own thoughts.

After initially accepting reality, Momonga gathered the main NPCs on the sixth floor of Nazarick and asked them for their opinions of him. To Momonga's surprise, these NPCs' evaluations of him were so high that he dared not even dream of such praise.

This evaluation made Momonga feel nervous, even panicked. Those NPCs treated him with utmost respect, yet in his original world, he was merely a low-level worker who could be discarded at any time. When had he ever received such respect?

In the game, he and his companions were the masters of the The Great Tomb of Nazarick, the rulers of Ainz Ooal Gown, and the creators of these NPCs.

But now that it had become reality, these NPCs were of a similar level to him. If it came to a real fight, he might not necessarily be able to defeat these NPCs.

Yet, people of such similar strength bowed down to him. For Momonga, this was not a pleasant surprise but rather terror. If his Undead body were not composed of a skeleton, his expression management would probably have long since spiraled out of control.

Even so, he stammered due to nervousness, but fortunately, because of his skeletal appearance, these NPCs did not notice his awkwardness.

Since these NPCs regarded him as the supreme ruler of Nazarick, in order to maintain the ruler's authority and his image in the hearts of the NPCs, Momonga had to be careful with his words and actions, fearing that he might expose his true nature and disappoint these NPCs, which could then lead to their betrayal.

Although maintaining his image was a top priority, Momonga believed it was still necessary to quickly familiarize himself with everything in Nazarick. In the YGGDRASIL era, he did not need to worry about all the details of Nazarick, but now that he was in reality, he had to do so. This was also to ensure that he could quickly respond if he were to face betrayal from the NPCs.

For an entire night, Momonga began to strengthen his memory of things he had never paid attention to in Nazarick before, such as the names of the NPCs. In Nazarick, there were numerous NPCs, not just Floor Guardians, but also various other types of NPCs.

Speaking of which, Nazarick was like a castle. Those Floor Guardians were the castle's guards, but besides the guards, there were also various servants who served the castle's master.

Although the levels of these NPCs were not as high as those of the Floor Guardians, Momonga believed that it was always right to familiarize himself with their names.

In addition to familiarizing himself with the names of various NPCs in Nazarick, there was also the confirmation of combat aspects. This was now reality, and he wondered if the items and equipment from YGGDRASIL could still be used.

Although one night was not enough time for Momonga to test everything, some common items posed no problems. In short, by the next day, Momonga sat in the reception room chair, very satisfied with the results of his exploration throughout the night.

He had never imagined that there were so many unknown things in Nazarick. The more familiar something was, the more unfamiliar it became; this saying certainly held some truth.

"Hmm, mm…"

Momonga touched his skeletal jaw, feeling no fatigue. Speaking of which, he was very satisfied with this body; it required no eating, no rest, and felt no fatigue whatsoever.

In his original world, the liquid food produced by capitalists was his three meals a day. This liquid food was relatively cheap, but Momonga did not eat it because it was cheap, but simply because eating such food could save a lot of unnecessary time.

Moreover, he believed that no matter how delicious the food, it would eventually turn into excrement after being eaten, so wasting time and money on gourmet food seemed a bit too ridiculous. Liquid food was one of the few good things Momonga thought capitalism had produced.

Now, his Undead body, which had been busy all night, did not send any warnings of fatigue or hunger to his brain, which made him very satisfied.

Actually, thinking about it, this was inevitable, wasn't it? With only a skeleton left of his body, where would the food he ate go? In terms of being free from the need to eat, he thought that becoming part of the real world wasn't so bad after all.

"What is it, Ainz-sama?"

Sebas, dressed in a black tuxedo, with deep-set features, eyes as sharp as a raptor's, and white beard and hair, leaned forward slightly and asked Momonga.

He was the Guardian of the Ninth Floor, also serving as the butler of the The Great Tomb of Nazarick, and the leader of the Pleiades, with six battle maid subordinates.

As a Dragonoid, he was the strongest melee combat Guardian in Nazarick.

"No, it's nothing."

Momonga responded to Sebas's question, but his heart tightened. If he could, he would have preferred to research the "Mirror of Remote Viewing" alone here.

This item could be used to display images of designated locations, which was very convenient for players who specialized in hunting other players for PK, or for PKs who hunted other PKs. However, this item could be easily evaded by using low-level anti-information magic.

Not only that, this item was also prone to counterattacks from aggressive magical barriers, so it was not considered a very useful item.

Despite these flaws, in the current situation, using this item to observe the scenery outside Nazarick was very effective.

However, since this was now the real world, unlike the YGGDRASIL world, Momonga was still a bit unfamiliar with how to operate this item.

Although he didn't want Sebas to stay here, he couldn't resist the other party's enthusiastic attitude. In order not to disappoint Sebas's 'good intentions,' and also to avoid his refusal causing dissatisfaction in Sebas, he could only agree to him waiting by his side.

The Undead body gave Momonga better composure than when he was human, but he couldn't stand Sebas's gaze from behind. If he didn't quickly find a way to control the "Mirror of Remote Viewing," Momonga felt he probably wouldn't be able to sit there any longer.
