The ocean whispers secrets to those who listen. As she drifted in her small boat, she could feel the weight of the water's deepest mysteries pulling her into the unknown.

Haruno Sakura, marine biologist and senior researcher at Konoha marine research institute moved into a small house at a sea side community to carry out a long term field research project.
Sakura easily integrated herself into the small community thanks to her outgoing personality. The people welcomed her with open arms and happily helped with whatever she needed. Despite it's small population Ame was a thriving community full of kind and generous people. Sakura carried out her work with peace of mind.
On a bright and sunny Saturday, Sakura exited the small lab in her home after observing the samples she had cultured the previous day.
She stretched and yawned, finding her way to the fridge to get the ingredients she needed to make breakfast even though it was almost time for lunch. Forgetting to eat on time was something she did quite often. To her dismay the fridge was empty. She quickly remembered how she had continued to procrastinate grocery shopping. Now that she had exhausted everything she had in store, she had no choice but to finally make the trip to the market.
Sakura wore white shorts, a light pink tank top tucked into the shorts and on top of it, a red jacket. She completed the outfit with a big brown strawhat to shield her face and eyes from the sun the hat had a big red bow that matched beautifully with her jacket.
She wore her sandals and stepped out. Sakura walked to the market square smiling and greeting people she as passed by.
She went from shop to shop picking the things she needed. When she stopped by the docks to buy goods from the fishermen, she was surprised to see that the whole place was in disarray.
"Just who we needed! Doc, over here!" One of the fishermen called.
Sakura rushed over.
"What's going on?" She asked.
"Look."
Sakura gasped in horror. There were several fishes, but all of them were dead and covered in something greenish.
"This is today's first catch." A fisherman said. "All of them are dead."
"How did this happen?" Sakura asked.
"We went fishing today, but we noticed the area was all greenish we tried to fish as usual, but everything we caught was dead."
"Doc we don't know what's polluting the water, but it doesn't look good in the slightest. This town's main trade is fishing, what's going to happen if all the fish are gone? I don't know if there's anything you can do to help us."
"Can you take me to where you caught the dead fish? You said the water was greenish, it might be toxic algae. I may be able to help, I just need to get home first and collect some tools." Sakura replied.
"We really appreciate you doc."
"It's the least I could do to repay the kindness you all have shown me since I came here."
Sakura hurried home, dropped the groceries she bought and took some sterile containers for sample collection. She was sure the problem was poisonous algae. They were usually tricky to deal with especially in large bodies of water, and she needed to figure out the cause.
When Sakura arrived back at the docks the fishermen had already prepared a boat, and were just waiting for her. It didn't take long for Sakura to see what the fishermen were talking about. The water looked green and toxic.
"This couldn't have happened overnight." Sakura exclaimed.
"We did notice some changes a few days ago, but we thought it would go away."
Sakura stretched down to collect a small sample of the water. She locked it tightly in one of the sterile containers she had brought and carefully slipped it into her bag.
"This is definitely a toxic algae bloom, I don't know why it happened, but after I run some tests in the sample I collected I should be able to treat the water. Don't worry about the fish either, they'll be back when it's safe, and make sure no one makes careless contact with these waters, we don't know what effects the algae has on humans."
"Sure thing doc, we knew you could handle it."
Sakura blushed lightly and smiled in return.
When Sakura got home it was already late noon. She still hadn't eaten, but there were more pressing matters at hand. She needed to examine the algae.
Inside her lab, Sakura swiped a small sample to view under the microscope. The algae had the same general structure as most algae, but it was not something she had seen before. She then ran different tests on it and found out that the sea water was extremely nutrient rich which explained how the algae came about in the first place. Algae blooms easily manifested in water bodies with lots of nutrients for them to feed on. Sakura decided that she would personally make some algaecide to do the cleanup job for this particular algae since normal algaecide would have a hard time getting rid of this specific bloom in such a wide and nutrient rich area.
She ordered the materials she would need online and hoped they would arrive before the bloom spread even more.
The issue would soon be under control, but what Sakura didn't understand was how all those nutrients ended up in the sea water. There were minerals present in the samples that were not supposed to be in sea water.
After some hours in the lab, and in the kitchen preparing food, Sakura finally ate her breakfast as her dinner at 5 pm.

A week passed before Sakura's orders arrived. The fishermen had settled for going farther across the sea, avoiding the area with the algae bloom to look for good fishing spots.
Sakura made the algaecide and it was ready for use. She set out to apply it by herself. Her house had it's own little personal dock, and she had a small boat of her own for her research work. She packed up her equipment, and was ready to set sail. The algae bloom had spread even further than the area it initially contaminated. Sakura had several gallons of the algaecide that she needed to pour directly into the water. She got to work and diligently did the needful, however she could not shake off the weird feeling that she was being watched. She finished up and returned home feeling tired.
Two days later, Sakura returned to observe the progress. The algaecide had worked wonderfully the water was almost free from any trace of algae. She just needed to reapply a little bit more of the algaecide again to thoroughly get rid of the toxic algae.
As Sakura was about pouring the substance into the sea, something bright and colorful beneath the water caught her attention. Something became many things, like under water neon lights.
Sakura dropped the container of algaecide she was holding as her researcher side took over. She changed into her diver suit and took an under water camera. She needed to know what the source of the light was.
Sakura dived into the sea and swam towards the lights.
As Sakura swam closer to the light source, her body tingled with the excitement of a new discovery, and she failed to notice something closing in on her at alarming speed.
Sakura finally got a visual of the source of light. They were fish so many of them, they appeared to be migrating.
The fishes were something she had never seen in her life. They looked like the betta fish, but had scales that looked like diamonds and gave off a glow, their long and wide fins that looked like fairy wings were rainbow coloured and were glowing beautifully. All the fish together lit up that part of the sea like Christmas lights.
Sakura kept staring in awe, they were so beautiful. She fumbled around reaching for the camera she had strapped to her waist when something gripped her by the throat and she was pushed back to the surface with enough force to snap her neck. Thankfully she was still alive.
Above water Sakura took a good look at her assailant. She was about to be choked to death by the most handsome man she had ever seen. A man with the perfect nose and jawline, eyes as dark as the night sky, and black hair so long and silky she wondered what it felt like to touch.
The shortage of the oxygen supply to her brain was making her forget the most important thing, beneath her assailant's beautiful slender waist was the beginning of a tail with navy blue scales so dark they almost seemed black like his eyes. The looked like they were glowing too.
"You will not harm them." The man spoke.
Orgasm inducing voice, Sakura wondered if this was a good way to die. It had to have been the most eventful evening of her life.
