Chapter 2 - Crash course on Veston continents

The planet was called Veston, a medieval world — not fantasy in the sense of mages or magic, but with subtle supernatural elements absent on Earth. Veston was divided into five continents, each with its own languages, cultures, and unique traits:

1. Valdoria – Yivanna's homeland

2. Zephyria – desert and coastal lands

3. Korynthia – advanced, cold-climate region

4. Tyrenna – sparsely populated, frigid lands

5. Sularia – warm, fertile lands rich in herbs and spices

---

Languages and People

Each continent had a primary language, with regional dialects much like English in our world — for example, Valdoria spoke Valdorish, but accents differed between counties, just as British English differs from Irish or American English.

Valdoria was home to fair- to olive-skinned people with light brown or blonde hair, and blue or green eyes. Other continents followed the same pattern: one language with distinct dialects.

Valdoria and Its Empires

Originally, Valdoria consisted of five empires, but when King Conrad separated Elondria from Avalor, it became six:

1. Avalor – the largest empire; previously ruled over Elondria

2. Glyndral – second largest

3. Dresvane – Yivanna's home before marriage

4. Marthenia – fourth in size

5. Camelot – northern, sparsely populated

6. Elondria – recently separated; roughly the size of a city but composed of 67 towns and 45 villages, each spaced so far apart it could take three hours to travel between them

Other Continents and Cultures

Zephyria – Eastern desert and coastal regions. Its people, the Zephyrs, rode camels, covered their heads with long veils, and resembled Persian and Middle Eastern cultures. Zephyria, along with Sularia, were renowned for their herbs and spices.

Korynthia – Cold, advanced, and highly developed. It was the top continent in terms of military strength, technology, and development.

Tyrenna – Harsh, frigid, and backward compared to other continents. Most people had never visited due to its inhospitable climate.

Sularia – Fertile lands rich in resources and technology; second in military and technological advancement. Its people had darker skin tones suited to the warmer climate.

The Skies of Veston

Veston's night sky was unlike Earth's: it had two moons — one a crescent, the other full — and a single sun.

When Song Lihua first transmigrated, she assumed she had arrived in medieval Europe. Seeing the two moons in the sky was the first clue that she was far from Earth.
