Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Mundane Awakening

Chen Fan blinked awake on the soft straw of a wooden hut, the morning sun filtering through the lattice windows. The scent of fresh earth and the faint cluck of chickens greeted him. He groaned. Not again…

He remembered clearly: one moment he was on Earth, a university student worrying about finals, and the next he was in this strange world, surrounded by people talking about cultivators, spiritual energy, and something called "Heavenly Tribulations."

"What a nightmare," Chen Fan muttered, sitting up. "I can't cultivate. I don't have any talent. I'm useless here."

Then, a metallic voice echoed in his mind:

"God-Level Cultivation System activated. User: Chen Fan. Initial task assigned: Grow vegetables, feed chickens, and purify water."

Chen Fan froze. "…Grow vegetables? Feed chickens? Purify water? Is this some kind of cruel joke?"

He rubbed his temples. "I transmigrate into a world of magical cultivation and my destiny is… farming?"

The system chimed cheerfully:

"Farming efficiency determines cultivation potential. Complete tasks to gain breakthrough points."

Chen Fan sighed and reluctantly approached the chicken coop. A dozen white-feathered hens pecked at the straw, squawking as he scattered feed.

"Fine, fine," he muttered. "Just… eat, or whatever you do."

Nothing happened. He scratched his head and moved to water the small patch of vegetables outside the hut. The soil glowed faintly under his fingers, though he assumed it was just his imagination.

He went inside to rest, completely oblivious to the ripples he had set in motion.

Meanwhile, outside the hut, the chickens were changing. Their feathers shimmered, their eyes glowed faintly golden, and claws grew sharp enough to rend stone. Within minutes, what had been ordinary poultry were now majestic, miniature beasts capable of combat, though they were too polite to attack humans.

A traveling cultivator from the nearby Lea Sect happened to pass by. He paused, staring at the shimmering chickens. "W-what… are these?"

"They… they look… alive?" his companion stammered.

"Impossible… these are Divine Beasts! Only legends speak of them!" The two sect disciples quickly bowed, their hands trembling.

Back inside, Chen Fan yawned, leaning against a table as he fanned the air lazily to cool himself. Across the mountain ridge, an evil formation had been set up by a rival sect. Lightning crackled, and the formation roared with destructive energy.

Chen Fan waved his hand idly. A breeze fluttered across the area, dissipating the entire formation.

"Hmm. Wind feels nice," he murmured, not noticing the two sects that had been watching in awe from afar. They immediately collapsed to their knees.

"Master Chen Fan… your power… it's…"

Chen Fan waved them off, puzzled. "I just fanned, what are you guys doing on the ground?"

By noon, he had finished watering his vegetables. A disciple from the Lea Sect politely asked for a sip of water. Chen Fan shrugged and handed over a small clay cup. The disciple drank… and instantly felt a surge of power. His cultivation level shot up several stages in seconds.

"Master… this… this water!" he gasped.

Chen Fan frowned. "It's just water. I boiled it. Why is everyone acting so weird?"

By evening, Chen Fan had sketched a quick painting of a mountain landscape, leaning against a tree. The painting, infused with his latent spiritual energy, glowed faintly. A white tiger cub wandered over, sniffed it, and poof! it transformed into a tiny, fluffy domestic cat.

Chen Fan blinked. "A… cat? Cute. I'll keep you."

The cat purred, oblivious to its divine transformation, and rubbed against his leg. Meanwhile, sect disciples whispered among themselves: "The young master's aura… is… holy. That painting alone could alter the fate of a sect!"

Chen Fan yawned, stretched, and went inside. "Time for a nap. Farming is exhausting work, you know."

And so, the world of cultivation slowly began to shift around him, all because a young man with no talent simply did some chores, fanned the air, and sketched a picture. He had no idea he was already a god among mortals.
