Haru bumps into Yeojun again a few days later, it's early. Around 7 'oclock in the morning. He didn't want to disturb Sowoon or Yuri, so he got out of bed quietly to go down and explore a bit more, in preparation for their first few classes of the term.
"Oh, hey Yeojun!" Haru exclaims with a bright smile, as usual. Yeojun walks over, feeling a fluttering feeling in his chest. He had never come across somebody so happy to see him. Well..not with that smile, at least.
"Hey, Haru. Up early for your first day?"
Haru nods.
"Yeah! I wanted to explore so I don't walk into the wrong class."
Yeojun chuckles
"Hey, is that what you did on your first day of high school?"
Haru looks down sheepishly
"Maybe...but I've got to go now, so bye!"
Yeojun nods.
"I'll see you around, then." He says, fighting the urge to call out and stop Haru from leaving. It almost felt like the warmth was slowly drifting away as he left, but just as Yeojun was standing there, he looked ahead and saw Yuri staring right at him.
"Uh...what?"
Yeojun says awkwardly, still feeling the tingling feeling in his neck from seeing Haru so bright and energetic like a kid. He can't help but blush faintly, a small smile tugging at his lips like puppet strings, as if fate knew this meant something.
"We bumped into you yesterday.." Yuri starts to say rather...accusingly.
"Stop flirting."
Yuri gives him an intense gaze, almost as if the usual stars in his eyes were melting away into something more. Something that followed by a hint of possessiveness.
"I-I wasn't!" Yeojun says, waving his hands in front of him, trying to defend himself.
"He's MY boyfriend. You hear that? MINE. Stop smiling like a fool, and get on with your day."
Yuri turns to leave, following after Haru, a small glare still imprinted on his face like a drawing. Haru pouts slightly. He didn't like seeing Yuri mad before, not now, not ever. Even when it's not directed at him.
"Yuri...please don't be mad."
"I'm not mad."
Yuri grunts. The two eventually make their way back to the dorm, to get some more sleep in before they have to get up for class for real.
The sun had barely risen, spilling pale light across the campus. In Sowoon, Haru, and Yuri's dorm, the alarm hadn't even gone off yet—because no one had needed it. The three of them were already awake, though none looked particularly happy about it.
Yuri groaned softly, burying his face in the pillow, while Haru rolled over with a dramatic stretch. Sowoon, sprawled on his back, blinked up at the ceiling, wishing for a few more hours of sleep. "Why does the sun wake up so early?" he muttered.
Yuri didn't respond, just muttered something incoherent into the pillow. Haru smirked, nudging him gently. "Come on, at least we've got time before class to grab breakfast." Yuri peeked one eye open, silently judging the cheerful optimism.
Meanwhile, in the other dorm, Mika, Yuna, and Sophia were the only ones awake so far. Mika's alarm had gone off five times already, and she had snoozed it each time. Yuna was curled up under a blanket, staring at the ceiling with wide, unblinking eyes, while Sophia was perched cross-legged on her bed, still scrolling her phone in the dim morning light. "It's way too early for this," Yuna muttered. Mika nodded emphatically, letting out a long, dramatic sigh.
The walk to class felt quieter than usual. Even though it was morning, the campus already had that faint buzz of students moving between buildings. Yuri, Haru, and Sowoon walked together, still rubbing sleep from their eyes. Haru hummed softly, a comforting but slightly annoying presence, while Sowoon kept glancing around like he'd forgotten something.
Entering their lecture hall, the group slowly settled into seats. Yuri found himself automatically scanning the room—and, just as before, his eyes landed on Yeojun, who had already found a spot near the back. He was calmly flipping through his notebook, completely unaware of the small storm quietly brewing inside Yuri.
Haru leaned over, whispering gently, "Don't let it get to you." Yuri gave a tiny, silent nod, pressing his lips into a thin line, his pencil poised over his notebook. He focused on the lecture, mostly—but Yeojun's presence lingered at the edge of his attention, just as it had the day before.
Sowoon, Haru, and the girls from the other dorm settled in too, their chatter low and friendly. Sophia leaned over to Sowoon with a grin, Mika whispered something to Yuna, and Riku and Jihoon, seated together a few rows away, shared a sleepy grin. The professor's voice filled the room, steady and uninterrupted, but Yuri's hand moved over his notebook almost automatically, his thoughts quietly flitting back to Yeojun.
Later on in the day, Yuri and Haru had just decided to go for a small walk on the streets, the small fire still silently fuming inside Yuri. Haru looks over at his side profile, his eyes filling with just a touch of concern amidst everything else.
"Yuri..are you still irritated?" Haru asks quietly, his voice soft. Just a tad too soft..pre-softened for something he shouldn't be thinking about.
Yuri shakes his head, though everything else about his body seems to lie.
Haru sighs, slightly frustrated himself.
"Stop doing this..."
"Doing what?"
"Being so...mad. I can't act normal when you're like this."
Yuri rolls his eyes. Letting out a sharp sigh, not exactly directed at Haru, but it feels like it to him.
Haru's eyes widen. He stops dead in his tracks, no longer walking. His eyes fill with an unbelievable shock. That angry eye roll? It's something small that he had never seen from Yuri before. Never. With an almost-frozen voice, sharpened like a pencil..he mutters, his voice low, dangerously low, and barely above a whisper.
"...What did you just do to me?..."
