Kaelen Of The Vesper Clan
Lurking in the shadows was a tall figure, leaning behind a pillar,eyes closed as if listening to what the wind whispered.
Kaelen Vesper,the heir to the Vesper clan was an embodiment of control,grace and elegance. Tall and lean with sharp angular features that were undeniably noticeable. His silver-gray eyes piercing but warm held worries that seemed out of reach. His jet black hair,ever meticulously styled stayed in placed even with the howling winds.
He exhaled through his nose exhausted. Being an heir wasn't quite as pleasing as everyone thought. It was burdensome and sometimes he yearned for freedom. But that was one desire he couldn't get. Not now,not ever. His ears twitched slightly and he opened his eyes,scanning the surrounding. He was very sure that no one knew he was here. After all,they didn't notice when he had disappeared from the chaos going on in the castle.
" Your lordship?" a voice called from behind him.
He turned sharply,guards up and ready but on seeing the familiar face,his posture relaxed and he smiled faintly.
" Rael, it's you?" he said,softly.
The middle aged vampire bowed slightly before standing upright. Studying Kaelen's face quietly.
" What brings you here?" Kaelen asked,returning to his position.
" I came to inform you that your luggages have been packed and set for the academy." Rael said. His voice hinting at Kaelen to talk to him.
Silence. Then a sigh. Kaelen tilted his head,his eyes still closed but one could tell he was thinking.
" Is it really necessary to go? I mean…to do what my father said" he asked and Rael chuckled softly.
" Your lordship,you of all people should know that this is important to our clan. It is for the greater good for us" Rael answered and Kaelen frowned.
" It could lead to another life long damage"
" You need not to worry yourself about that. Focus on the mission and do not displease your father" Rael adviced
"Hmm… I don't seem to have a choice,do I?" Kaelen asked.
Rael smiled and patted him on the shoulder as if to tell him that everything would fall in place.
" Do you think the other clans will sit back and watch?" he asked
" We aren't commiting a crime,your lordship." Rael said but Kaelen gave him a pointed look.
" Aren't we?" he asked
" It seems more of a crime to me. If the other clans find out about this…we could have ourselves a second war"
" They won't find out if they don't hear of it" Rael pointed out and Kaelen scoffed.
"Please. The heir of the Vesper clan is suddenly going to the academy and you think it would not spread?" he asked
" There is nothing queer about you going to the academy. You will have to go eventually if not now" Rael replied.
Kaelen laughed. A soft,gentle laugh as always.
" You will keep arguing with me to make me see why I should accept this,right?" he asked.
" I dare not do that,your lordship" Rael replied, bowing slightly.
"But I believe his lordship is wise enough to know what decision he is to make."
Kaelen stood upright, wiping invisible dust from his clothe and with a smooth turn,he started making his way back into the castle. Rael behind him. His eyes gave a faint glow of gold and a small smile formed on his lips.
" Valemorra Academy huh?..." he thought
