A spray of blood burst violently into the air.
His heart pierced. His throat run through.
Either injury on its own was fatal, but together, they left no room for survival.
The sensation of steel carving through flesh, the warmth of blood on his skin, everything about it was real. It couldn't possibly be a Shadow Clone.
But no matter how vivid the scene, Kirito refused to believe that Shimura Danzo, one of the most feared names in Konoha, would die that easily.
"Not only do you wield a formidable weapon... you've also mastered a brutally powerful taijutsu."
A cold voice echoed from behind.
Kirito slowly turned.
The supposedly dead Danzo stood there unharmed.
His right arm, now free of bandages and shackles, was exposed, embedded with rows of Sharingan, each emitting a sinister, cursed chakra.
But among them, one eye on the back of his hand... was now closing.
The forbidden Uchiha technique,
Izanagi.
A jutsu that could override reality itself, turning any disadvantage, including death, into nothing more than an illusion, while manifesting favorable outcomes as truth.
An ultimate illusion technique cast on oneself, blurring the line between dream and reality.
To an outsider, it looked as if Kirito had forced Danzo to use his trump card early.
But in truth, Kirito had already revealed more of his cards than it appeared.
The Eight Extreme Collapse was currently his most powerful physical technique. And prolonged use of Sode no Shirayuki drained a tremendous amount of energy. Even so, Danzo's prudence was on full display, he never underestimated Kirito based on his youth. He knew Hiruzen had taken special notice of him, and that alone was enough to assume hidden strength.

And as for Izanagi, it wasn't something Danzo had truly mastered. He had only recently acquired the technique after obtaining experimental data from Orochimaru. In fact, this battle served as a field test for the infamous Uchiha forbidden jutsu.
Danzo flexed his fingers.
His body was completely unharmed. A gleam of obsession flickered in his lone eye.
So this… is the power of Izanagi.
He'd used it once before, years ago, when he ambushed Uchiha Shisui, the genjutsu prodigy, and stole one of his rare Mangekyō Sharingan.
At that time, his Izanagi had lasted barely ten seconds.
But now, after fusing cells from the First Hokage into his body via Orochimaru's research, his stamina and chakra had grown significantly.
This time, the duration had stretched past thirty seconds.
Not enough… Danzo thought.
I must contact Orochimaru again. With further enhancement, perhaps Izanagi's duration can be pushed even further.
But that was a concern for another day.
Now, the test was complete.
It was time to fight for real.
"Whoosh!"
Danzo vanished from view, dashing straight at Kirito from the front.
"Second Dance: White Ripple!" [Tsugi no mai: Hakuren]
Kirito immediately activated a ranged technique from Sode no Shirayuki.
A gust of ice burst from the blade's tip, frost solidified the air, unleashing a surge of snow and cold energy that surged across the battlefield like a wave.
The sweeping blizzard engulfed Danzo entirely.
"What?!"
Kirito's eyes narrowed.
He didn't even try to dodge? Charging head-on through that?
He's planning to end this… in the most direct way possible!
Sure enough, Danzo took the full brunt of the attack, but his body simply ignored the damage, protected by Izanagi. Within the next second, he reappeared behind Kirito, without a single wound.
A kunai, infused with Wind Release, aimed straight for Kirito's back.
Kirito reacted instantly, but not fast enough.
Danzo had forcibly altered reality to appear at his blind spot.
The kunai sank into Kirito's shoulder.
The pain was sharp and burning, Wind Chakra slicing through flesh.
He gritted his teeth. Blood streamed down his arm. But he narrowly dodged the vital point.
His hand gripped Sode no Shirayuki, stabbed it into the ground, and a white circular glyph flared to life.
He leapt out of its radius.
"First Dance: White Moon!" [Some no mai: Tsukishiro]
A blinding white pillar of freezing light shot skyward.
Everything it touched, even the air itself, was frozen solid.
Danzo, caught mid-step within the radius, was instantly entombed in ice.
But Kirito didn't let up.
Without stopping, he slashed his fingertip with the blade, injecting massive amounts of cold energy into his own body.
"Negative Eighteen Degrees."
"Negative Fifty Degrees!"
His body temperature dropped with terrifying speed.
He ignored the backlash from the sudden freeze, his only goal now was to unleash the icequake.
A unique effect of extreme cold, the ground began to shake violently.
"Tch!"
Danzo, who had just re-manifested behind him again, felt his footing falter.
His body lost balance, his surprise attack ruined.
He looked up, only to see a massive fist swinging down toward his face.
"BOOM!"
Kirito didn't miss the opportunity.
His punch landed directly on Danzo's skull, crushing it like a watermelon.
But Izanagi activated again.
This time, Danzo reappeared in mid-air, out of reach of the quake's influence.
"Ah, I see…"
Danzo narrowed his eye as he looked down.
That blade of yours... one technique targets grounded enemies, the other attacks airborne ones. Used together, there's no escape.
Kirito was already acting again.
Danzo appeared behind him once more. Kirito stabbed his sword into the earth, preparing the First Dance again.
The magic circle beneath his feet began to glow, he was just about to leap out of its range when-
Danzo's arms clamped down on his shoulders.
"Not this time."
Danzo's voice was ice cold.
"You're in the kill zone with me now."
Kirito's eyes narrowed.
But he didn't stop.
With a single swing of Sode no Shirayuki, he unleashed the full force of the technique.
The white light roared upward,
consuming them both.
