Chapter 17 - Creation Engine [017]

The Noiré house had seven branches, each branch had one acting head. Aegon's grandfather was one of the heads.

And the one commanding over all was the Patriarch.

Aegon got no information about the Patriarch nor his relatives of their branch.

Nevertheless, he, Luminaire, and Catherine were given residence in the northern block.

Catherine was still in disbelief at the grandeur and power around the mansion.

"I don't know how to thank you, mistress. If you hadn't brought me here, I would have had to go back to the brothel once again..." Catherine said with genuine gratitude while heading to their assigned rooms.

Luminaire smiled warmly at Catherine's words. "You are already an important member of the family, Catherine. So don't worry about anything. Just be yourself..."

Aegon glanced over at Catherine's figure. She wasn't too bad looking, but the girl had a tragic past. She and her parents fled from a destroyed city due to a wraith invasion. But along the way, they were captured by slave hunters. Her parents died, and she had turned into a sex slave in the Delios town brothel.

It was Aegon who decided to help, by demanding to make her their servant in a childish tantrum to Edmund. Edmund agreed helplessly. He had spent a lot of saved gold to buy her freedom.

But she insisted on repaying the Delacroix house, and that's how she became the maid.

Aegon certainly didn't have any maid fetish, and never did he look at Catherine with lustful intention. Their relationship was purely master-servant, nothing else.

As if sensing his gaze, Catherine turned to Aegon.

"Young master, do you need me to set up your bedroom for you?" she asked.

Aegon gave Catherine a small, tired smile. "Thank you, Catherine. But I need to rest alone for a while. I'm exhausted." He needed solitude immediately to initiate his next critical step.

"Son, you must be very tired. Go, get rest. I will call you when it's time for dinner," his mother said.

"Okay, Mom."

Aegon replied and clicked open the door to his room, which was completely opposite Luminaire's. Catherine's room was small and adjacent to Luminaire's.

Aegon entered the room and was greeted by a clean sight. The room was surprisingly clean and cozy on the inside. Nevertheless, he was already accustomed to living in such rooms. So, he sat down on the bed without too much excitement.

From the window, he could see many young and adult men and women practicing in the vast training yard. Each of them displayed terrifying control over their Grimoires and spells.

His eyes shone with fascination, like all the past times he watched Nurse Achia performing sorcery. He always yearned to perform those spells by himself.

And now he finally gained the chance. He had his own Grimoires, not just one, but two.

Without delay, he started exploring his Grimoires.

The term "Sorcerer" in this world had a different meaning than anyone would assume.

Grimoires can also be used like a system window to view a sorcerer's stats and spells received from their Grimoire.

He immediately sank into deep concentration, trying to summon it.

After a little struggle, the panel projected by ATUM flashed before his eyes:

[ Name: Aegon Noiré Delacroix ]

[ Age: 10 ]

[ Level: 9999+ (Locked) ]

[ Class: Creator / Berserker ]

[ Spells: Blood Rage (F) ]

[ Strength: 8 ]

[ Vitality: 8 ]

[ Speed: 7 ]

[ Mana: 10 ]

"..."

Seeing the stats, Aegon was dumbfounded. "What the hell is this?"

"Why is my level showing 9999+ when I have stats of a child? Is someone playing with me?"

Despite his confusion, he was intelligent enough to understand that he had stumbled into something huge. Grimoires never lie.

As such, he focused on the only spell he had received:

Blood Rage (F): Enter a state of pure rage, increasing physical strength and endurance by 30% for 1 minute.

Cooldown: 15 minutes.

Weakness: Vitality drains steadily while in this state.

'30% strength boost for 1 minute with a cooldown of 15 minutes at F-rank is not bad. If I can rank it up, it can surely make me a monster,' Aegon thought.

He also understood that this spell had come from Blood Berserker, which he named Sengu in short.

However, his main Grimoire, ATUM, didn't seem to give him any spells at all. He was a little disappointed. What's the use of this high and mighty Creator class if it doesn't give any spells at all?

However, when he remembered its terrifying ability to create Grimoires, he calmed down somewhat. Maybe he hadn't discovered its true capabilities yet. So, he chose to be patient and continue to research ATUM.

Summoning the black notebook in his left hand and the Quill in his right hand, he decided to go to extreme lengths with the experiment.

He wrote the word "Pen" with the image of a random pen in his mind.

Afterward, he focused intently, not even daring to blink.

For a second, there was no movement. However, just then, something dropped onto the floor.

His heart skipped a beat, and he immediately picked it up.

And just as he imagined, a fully functional pen materialized before him. He stared at the blue pen, his hand trembling.

"Could it really let me create anything I want?" he wondered.

To find out the answer to his question, he wrote a few small item names such as spoon, glass bottle, frying pan, and so on.

And literally whatever he named and imagined came into existence. It didn't just allow him to create Grimoires, but it could create anything desired. The implications of this were immense, but right now it appeared to be the only possible conclusion.

"Haaaa..."

When he felt his soul getting fatigued, only then did he stop.

But one thing was certain. He had obtained the top-tier golden finger of all time.

Aegon closed ATUM, his heart racing with the implications of his latest discovery. The ATUM notebook, the Akashic Grimoire, and the Quill of Finality were not just a magic system.

They were a Conceptual Creation Engine.
