Chapter 91 - Chapter 94

Lu Yi no longer needed to interfere in Skye's affairs. S.H.I.E.L.D. would never easily release such an important individual.

Were you impersonating a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent?

Fine. Since you were so eager to become a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, and your ties with S.H.I.E.L.D. were so deep, then from today onward, you would truly become one—starting from the very bottom.

This was exactly what Coulson had done in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and now he was doing it again.

Under Lu Yi's guidance, Coulson recruited Skye, turning her into a low-ranking S.H.I.E.L.D. agent.

As for the reason, it was the same as in the original storyline: Skye possessed extremely powerful hacking skills, making her a specially recruited talent.

This left Lu Yi speechless.

Coulson truly lacked creativity. He had used this excuse in the original plot, and he was still using it now.

However, Coulson soon made excellent use of this justification.

Hadn't Coulson been investigating S.H.I.E.L.D.'s internal affairs recently?

Coincidentally, Skye—who had just joined S.H.I.E.L.D.—was definitely not a Hydra agent. If he didn't make good use of her, he would be a fool.

Therefore, Coulson ordered Skye's very first mission after joining S.H.I.E.L.D.: to secretly hack into the computers of certain S.H.I.E.L.D. personnel, especially Alexander Pierce and that bald man.

In the past, Skye had used the Rising Tide's computers to infiltrate S.H.I.E.L.D.'s network. Now, with top-level insiders like Coulson and Nick Fury backing her, infiltrating S.H.I.E.L.D. would be even easier.

For a time, Skye became the center of attention.

But all of that was still in the future. None of it had happened yet. At the moment, Skye was still anxiously waiting to see how S.H.I.E.L.D. would deal with her.

Lu Yi withdrew his gaze and refocused his attention on the construction of the magic furnace.

As time passed, his craftsmanship improved rapidly, and more and more magic nodes were connected.

By now, nearly all of the magic nodes in Lu Yi's furnace had been linked. Only the final node remained.

Once the last node was connected, the second phase of the furnace would be complete—the skeletal framework fully formed.

At that point, a tremendous transformation would occur.

After calming his mind, Lu Yi sat in the center of the grassland and began connecting the final magic node of the furnace's second stage.

A powerful surge of magic burst from his body, condensing into a thin magical thread. Using the combined coordination of his mental and soul power, he attempted to connect the final magic node.

Bang!

A soft sound echoed inside his body. The magical conversion line snapped in the middle—his first attempt had failed.

Lu Yi paid little attention to the failure. He had failed far more times than he could count. As more magic nodes were connected, each new connection became increasingly difficult.

Mistakes could occur at any moment.

Thus, Lu Yi neither lost heart nor hesitated. He began again.

Bang!

Another soft sound. Another failure.

Lu Yi continued, restarting once more.

After failing more than ten times, Lu Yi finally approached success on the next attempt.

The magical conversion line successfully connected to the final node—this was the first step to success. The next step was ensuring it would not break.

The closer he got to completion, the harder the process became. The line could be neither too thick nor too thin. If too thick, it would disrupt the entire furnace's operation. If too thin, it would snap instantly.

Lu Yi needed to fine-tune the thickness of the line at the final node, ensuring optimal magical control without breaking.

It was incredibly difficult.

But it had to be done.

Using the coordination of his mental and soul power, Lu Yi delicately controlled the output of magic, continuously adjusting the thickness of the line.

Large beads of sweat suddenly seeped from his forehead. The massive consumption of mental and soul energy caused his body to react.

He dared not wipe away the sweat. His concentration reached its peak.

Yet, as his energy drained, errors became inevitable.

Suddenly, something went wrong!

"Not good!"

Lu Yi exclaimed as the magical line began to collapse. The enormous consumption of mental energy had destabilized the structure.

But success was only one step away. He refused to give up.

Without hesitation, Lu Yi fused his remaining mental power with his brain's full processing capacity, integrating past failures with the near-success of the present.

This was one of the experiences he had gained.

At critical moments, his extraordinary cognitive ability allowed him to control the line thickness with unparalleled precision.

In just one hundredth of a second, Lu Yi found the optimal control ratio.

Without hesitation, he adjusted the magical line to that precise level.

Although limited by his current physical state—causing fluctuations in magical output and minor distortions—the result might not be theoretically perfect. Still, it was the best possible solution under the circumstances.

The magical conversion line gradually stabilized, conforming perfectly to the thickness calculated in his mind.

Suddenly, Lu Yi froze.

At that moment, the flow of magic between the nodes and the lines became astonishingly smooth. The proportions were flawless—better even than his previous calculations, perfectly matching his current condition.

All he needed to do now was wait patiently for it to fully integrate.

Time passed, second by second.

Then—

A thunderous roar erupted from within Lu Yi's body. Orchid-colored magical energy burst forth, forming flame-like streams that surged around him.
